The Tablas combine the wholesome good looks of Greg Evigan with the tipsy antics of Foster Brooks.
No, wait...
The Tablas combine the effervescence of pre-corn syrup Coke with the suave good looks of Colonel Sanders.
Um, or...
To the Laplanders, Tabla means "He Who Burns for Ointment."
Never mind.

Gee, I thought Tabla meant "Utahn with an aversion to the word, 'hatch'." Roo, hmmm. I would say that it brings the word 'lunatic' to mind. But that seems, so, well, limiting. So, Roo would be chosen by a bouncy, playful, dare I say, flirty personality.

I snuck on for just a few minutes to deal with Neualt stuff.. and saw this thread.. haha.. Err, I have no idea what you all associate with Lorentz. I honestly think my first name (and all my nicknames) tend to mean more than my last name to most. But I have no idea. haha.. What do you think of when you think of my name??

I dunno. I never meet enough people of the same surname soon enough together to really compare them. I've met a few Moreaus besides myself and Satu, but never really talked to them much. I chose my name mostly because of Satu, and it fit the RP character from whom I derived my first name. The obvious connection, though, is the infamous Dr. Moreau(Who I liked better in the original movie, by the way, not that fat Englishman).

From: Pendari Lorentz What do you think of when you think of my name?? "Lorenz" has always conjured up for me impressions of riches, diamonds, wealth, and class. Don't ask me why . . . " So, Roo would be chosen a bouncy, playful, dare I say, flirty personality." Most definitely bouncy and playful! After all, Roo is the kangeroo offspring of Kanga in Winnie the Pooh! coco

In 2+ years of Second Life, I have met only 3 other Leviathans. I don't know any of them well enough to pass judgement on the name.

great thread!
08-06-2005 23:25
an absolutely great amount of logic is behind the reasons and "aft-perceptions" behind our last names.. well, usually.. i know some people end up with theirs due to a lack of recognition of how much it will come to mean to them after a while, but most people (i think) choose their last names with a certain amount of lucidity. for example, it follows logic that the last name "Roo" will belong to someone who has an "up" personality and has seen the Winnie-the-Pooh cartoons. or, "Pico".. that has a certain.. logical bent to it. as far as Monde goes.. i don't know many personally, but after going through the list of Mondes in "Find" and reading several of them, i can safely say that i'm not completely sure. BUT.. it seems the Mondes are artistic, intellectual and not very outgoing, but not really averted to social activities either. i would suppose finding out others thouhts of our last names would better suit the answer to the question this thread poses.

From: Hikaru Yamamoto what about us yamamotos? the japanese wannabes In my very newb days I was totally confused by all the people with Japanese names. I was like "Wow! There're so many of us!" Now I know better than to speak to them in Japanese BTW, I guess my surname is fairly new but does it give the impression of me being a mentally-unstable and blood-thirsty woman?

Well, I can't even claim a trait, since I was SUCH a n00b that I thought the name was "Saw-mee-ahm", an interesting and slightly exotic name, and it took a week to have the light go off and cringe to know I am Sam I Am. =/ So I suppose you could say Samiam's are overly creative, overly idealistic, and overly oblivious... depending upon time of day, amount of coffee imbibed, and whether or not they got to bed before sunrise. (grin) But seriously, I don't think I've seen another Samiam in the world, though I know they exist. This would lead me to think they're rather solitary or withdrawn, which in turn makes me wonder how the hell I wound up with the name. Then I remember, I didn't pick Samiam, I picked "Saw-mee-ahm". (cough)
