Anybody know how to contact Starax Statosky?

What does a Starax wand do anyway? I'm a pretty fair builder and scripter.

This makes me sad. I won't be able to look at his bum ever again.

I've been getting this kind of responce alot tonight. People asking why it's such a big deal it's just an item ect. Or "why don't you make your own wand". Starax was a legend, and the undisputed best builder in SL. Every week when he would update the wand it was like getting a new birthday present. For anyone thinking that they will just make a new wand, have someone actually give you a starax wand demo, it will blow your mind.

A wand by Starax rezzes his wonderful objects whenever the bearer says words that relate to them. Say "hippos" and hippos fall from the sky. It was broken by the temp-n-rez changes, but it will work again - it MUST. /me sobs.

I'm sure it will, but I'm sure that I could create it if I decided to.

Not saying that it wouldn't take some time. Not saying that Starax isn't incredibly talented.

Just asking for a description in words about what it does specifically.

I'm not making a Starax Trap because of the wand, though.

The wand is wonderful because it brings forth Starax's builds. But Starax is wonderful for many reasons.

Anyone remember that talk about how LL is banning FIC? ChrisMid and a few others... I still see signs of it, if this is what happens to starax. i don't meen to point fingers but this could be the problem.

Exactly. It's pretty easy to create a wand that will rezz objects on command. There's a free version in the script forums that does it.

What will never, ever be able to be duplicated is Starax's incredible creations.

I think his departure stems from the fact that his wands were rezzing his object with full permissions (/139/30/123316/1.html). In the thread, the Lindens never posted a followup. I believe they followed up with him in private with an answer he didn't want to hear (nor any content creator would), and he finally said, "You know what? Fuck this place."

I seriously doubt that this is true. I don't think I'll be the one, but Starax is not a god.

Ah, yeah. I remember talking in IM then he said if I knew what he did I'd be sent to the cornfield for life. Of course this is a VERY bad bug. I hope it has been fixed.

That's just sentamental mumbo jumbo. I say it not to denigrate, but because the fact of/ (actually,the thing that makes life interesting) is that it will be duplicated and made even more interesting by another.


Could be. but you know what. I don't think anyone wants to be a god. Maybe that became more than he could handle and he just took this as an excuse to leave.

At some point, you have to accept the fact that people have their own motives and that maybe they have nothing to do with Second Life.
