ATTN Furries: The Forest is DEAD

Siggy, I agree that people are granted rights to do whatever they want with their land. However, many things make it look like Anshe is behind things wich is of course just speculation. Now Anshe and her people are denying everything and pointing fingers themselves. So instead of playing the finger pointing game it makes more sense to have an investigation to find out exactly who and why this was done.

Anshe did it, then blamed it on my friends who have no power to do so. When she saw her lie failed, she quote a linden saying they witnessed the attack without permission! She said Nicole Linden witnessed one of the officer grifting the sim. But Nicole refused to say anything about it!!!

I never have anything againt Anshe until now. Lies are UNACCEPTABLE to any level of business!!!

I still believe in the Lindens. Take some action against this and perform full investigation. Tell us the name. And the argument all ended. This is surely full scales against TOS.

Ok, let me clear up one thing: I didn't delete a single prim in The Forest and the server logs will back me up on that. Yes, I put up the banshee dung posters. Why? Because Anshe went and wiped a quarter of The Forest without consulting the group officers. Her actions made many paying tenants homeless. She has also accused me of theft in the past (a false accusation). The accounts which I made public back in February will back me up... I took not a single L$ from The Forest funds and put countless hours of my time into it. I, and many others, took it upon ourselves to build up The Forest into a pleasant sim and by anyone's yardstick we succeeded admirably. Traffic was up, dwell was good and DI was flowing in. OK, times change and we adapt.

During my watch I made many offers to pay Anshe monies from The Forest income (rentals & the store) but was turned down on the grounds that the money wasn't needed. Then in February Anshe conveniently forgot all her previous agreements and demanded 9 month's rent. Well she got her cash, but it gutted The Forest funds.

One curious phenomenon was the way in which Anshe started ejecting members from The Forest Fans & Friends group today. This was an open group I founded last year and it rose as high as #9 in the group charts before Linden Labs stopped tracking group size on the SL website. When the group was formed I invited Anshe in as an officer in order to placate her rabid paranoia. Today she started ejecting members and in a bid to stop her I had to ask Linden Lab employees to remove her not once but 6 times! That speaks of a preplanned action. Each time I ejected her she was able to invite herself back in as an officer and continue her destructive rampage. For the time being The Forest Fans and Friends group will sadly have to remain closed with membership by invite only until such time as Linden Labs can guarantee that Anshe will not re-invite herself back into the group to continue her destruction.

While I was involved with The Forest ,the officer group I was part of made a real effort to work with Anshe in good faith. Good faith which was betrayed. Ah well, live and learn. I also watched to my dismay how the hard work and good faith of the officer group who took over after I was 'deposed' was similarly betrayed. And I must warn Samia to expect similar treatment: there is no retirement plan working for anshecorp.

Methinks people forget the huge drama bit, deletion if items and various other havoc caused just before the original management turned it over to Anshe. This is simply history repeating itself. Also why I happily own my own little hideyhole. n.n

I Have been explaining and discussing this problem all day with forest residents and visitors. My tongue hurts. We all know this isnt the place to discuss this. Infact i was hoping to have opened this thread myself in the bulliton board section (well wishes). Cuz i feel thats where it belongs. Well wishes to the forest community.

Perhaps you could make a temporary forest replacement if you can get enough premium users to buy some land and donate it to a group.

Siggy, to clear up a point in your post... The Forest was wiped within a month of it being bought by Anshe. That event was pinned on a certain fur who, by dint of having connections with the W-Hat group, was unfortunately not able to shake off the accusations. This time around I have a clean pair of heels.

It was the spontaneous spasm of creativity after the wipe last year that led to the creation of The Forest sim that most people in SL have come to know: a burst of creativity that I was proud to be a part of and one that changed my experience in SL forever.

i have a high amount of respect for Alazarin. When he worked in the forest he really worked. he worked his tiedyed butt off! He made the sim the wanderful cheerful place it once was. His crafting skills are very unique. Sure they are HUGE but they are lovely. The day he invited me to be a forest guide i will never forget that day.

Oooh, I remember that. Fun business that was, too!

My advice would be to pool your resources and try and go it as a group without needing to rely on someone such as her as a benefactor.

As I said - I'm certainly no cheerleader for A$$.com and this is just one case in a long line of many I've seen.

If you really are a true community - try pulling the residents together to get your own sim - because thats the only way you can ever prevent things like this happening.

It sucks - this I don't dispute - but she holds the cards.

Be pissed off all you want. It's her sim, not yours, and you don't have a leg to stand on. You don't have any control over what you USED to own.

If, however, she has stolen money or broken written agreements or damaged property (deleted items may be in your inventory. In the trash I think. Check it), then you need to file abuse reports and ask the Lindens to deal with it.

Delete the contents and wipe out a sim you own = okay. It's her sim, it's her right to do so.

BUT! Wipe a sim out and blame other of your own action for your own plan. Then banning people who tell the truth to other and refused to accept in your own action is NOT ACCEPTABLE. If you kill a sim, and tell others it's your doing because you don't like it, or that you did so because you just hate someone in there so you decided to destroy everything. I won't have a problem with such action at all as long as you admit it's your doing. But LIES is bad. LIAR = I hate.

Speak out the truth. I can accept anything.

Um. I got my vendors and stuff back. They were all returned to me.

What I'd like to know is: what is going to be done about the rents paid?

I asked this when I went to the Forest today (between multiple crashes and freezes, but that's another story), and got contradictory answers.

Are we just going to have to eat the money paid for rental, or will it be returned?

I have aranged for a new sim, Serenity Woods, to be erected at the Vallies. We will be crediting your rent for a vendor spot inside the new sim. If you wish to no longer do business with us we understand and will refund you.

From what I understand from many who have visited The Forest today have been given many lies from Anshe's people regarding the sim's rental history. Let me restate the fact Anshe rejected rent from the previous community adminstration and ignored the current community administration regarding rent. Her people are spreading lies that we never paid our rent and/or couldn't afford it in the first place wich is in fact, false.

Until this is all settled please feel free to stop and visit Sables dAlliez, (Lost Furest) a Fury sim. There are many great builds there, a sandbox you can work in and each of you will be welcomed.

Also i have been given word that some of her minions are going around to other furry sims and threatening that if anyone badmouths a-n-s-h-e they will be baned from SL. If you encounter one of these minions, Abuse Report them IMEDIATLY! I'm sure THREATENING a resident is a TOS violation.

Anshe is not a member of the furry community. She runs a business, and ultimately it is in her interest to run The Forest in a way that it gains the most revenue, both from itself and the surrounding residential islands. She made a decision, and had it implemented; my understanding is that alternatives were offered by the Guides, but not responded to. She treated those who ran The Forest as employees, and had them replaced when they refused to do her bidding. There were other factors involved, and a certain amount of provocation on both sides - but she made the move to clear the area.

I do not think that any terms of service were broken. Indeed, I am sure it was her right (if not morally right) to do so. I do think communication, both between Anshe and the Guides, and the Guides and other members of the community, could have been a lot better. I don't know whether or not it would have changed things - this situation had been brewing for a while now - but it probably wouldn't have hurt.

Now, the Guides are going their own way. I do not doubt that it is possible for them to setup their own sim - despite what some think of the fandom, it contains many individuals with access to considerable income. $195/month isn't exactly loose change, but plenty of furries make that in a day - and there are quite a few furries on SL.

Whether or not other members of the furry community decide to turn their back on Governor Anshe as a result remains to be seen. There may be no mass exodus, but I think it may be hard for Dreamland to keep all its furry residents. There was something special about The Forest, which allowed it to keep expanding despite the competition from younger areas. Now it is rather the reverse - many of these places are solely owned by and run for furries, something that Dreamland can never match. What does The Forest have now that makes it unique? To a great extent, content is still king, and the Guides took that with them.

As for myself, I bought a plot in Tiger Creek even though I was wary of Anshe's ownership, because I felt I was supporting the furry community by doing so. I no longer feel that way, and with that gone, there is far less of a reason for me to stay there. I'm sure others will make their own decisions.

I hear a Dreamland representative may be attending Anthrocon. If true, it will be interesting to see how that goes, and I'll be sure to drop by for a chat. Perhaps some of the other groups should consider doing their own advertising there, and at other conventions.

Whilst on initial facts I have to agree this really sucks, and your group has my sympathy for this seemingly unwarranted destruction... it does seem a timely reminder of the fallacy of the basic account/rental combination as opposed to actual proper land ownership.

One thing I have learnt in SL is that very few people will do you a favour at any time and expect nothing back in return ever. Especially when all that drives them is the mighty dollar.

No single player is too big and powerful to be untouchable - and, whilst I am not a believer in the principle of 'karma', eventually things will come back and bite you in the arse if you piss off too many people.
