Howdy ya’ll! Sounds like more then a few people wanted me to show my face round these parts, so here it is.

Prims can be broken, and even lost from inventory, I lost my ::Grim Textures:: vendor not 2 days ago, and I for one was very upset. It had every Babie hair, Babie shirt, Babie skin, all inside there. Some were not replaceable. I did learn that you can’t put your faith in prims, or LL, but you can put faith in the community of Second Life. So while I am obviously not a huge fan of the whole “prim Babie” thing, I think these people were wronged, by both the Baby agency, and LL.

I think burring your baby, was a great way to get much needed attention highlighted on this baby place. I have allot of respect for this post to inform the community, even though you knew people would dog you for what you were doing. I would hate to have one of my ::Grim Parents:: shopping there, and getting ripped off.

Headless babies playing cards….. That’s what my busness was built on!! So I think that’s a great idea. I can also think of 100 reasons why people would want a Babie without a head. Movies about headless babies is nothing more then a ::Grim Babie:: commercial. Really I think anyone could find 100 ways to have fun with this post, and help these people out.

What is a ::Grim Babie:: ? It’s a fun toy. It's an accessory. It is not however meant to fulfill or meant to satisfy anyone’s need for a child. This warning is included in each ::Grim Babie:: box, and I think should also be included with each “prim baby”. So I can’t really see anything beyond the loss of money and vendor trust.

So you knew it was coming, we have a Babie that would follow this post, her name is Star, she will be available at Most ::Grim Babies:: Locations. She comes with headless ::Grim Babie::, HuD attachment, WORKING scripts, ::Grim Gear:: Grim @ Heart T-shirt, Babie Carrier, and ::Grim Pregnancy:: Body shape. Because she is transferable, she also comes with customer support for any generation ::Grim Parent::. As long as I am in the game, I will support my products.

I've met a few people in SL who had prim babies here for exactly that reason.

To each their own, I suppose, but each time I hear caterwauling over a "dead" prim "baby," it only reminds me of my real-life sitch and pisses me the hell off.

I'm sorry if this thread offends you in any way. But after our own SL dealings with this company, I learned that our case was not a unique situation and there were many other people with very similar stories, and virtually every one concluded their problems were an isolated incident and not part of an overall pattern. Having known people in SL who claim they cannot have children in RL, and having a RL family member with a handicapped child, it really struck me how this would have affected people in either of these two situations.

So while this thread may piss you off, and I do understand why it would do that, I hope that you understand the intentions behind it, and consider the company that provided the services in the first place, and how they really seem not don't give a hoot how their shoddy service may affect the RL people behind the avatars. Maybe that will let you see this thread in a different light.

I wish you well.

I am so sorry to hear about this, I have heard really bad things about that company. If they wanted to do the right thing then a refund should be in order and it would make them look alot better. As for right now, it makes them just look greedy. Which is probably why they were in business in the first place. There are alot better clinics out there that really do care and want you to have a good experience. As for all the other people who think this is a joke or a waste, the next time you buy clothes or dance/sex balls think about why you buy these...for the fun of having them. People roleplay in SL. I respect this couple for wanting to have a pregnancy and a baby. And I feel really bad for the way they were cheated. On a lighter note though..maybe this company was a fan of W.A.S.P. and they give away Headless Children? Sorry bad joke, but just trying to break the ice.

Well, as I've said, I'm behind you on the anger at getting ripped off part.

It's the comparison of "losing" a prim baby to the pain of real infertility and death that offends.

The headless babies albiet Grim or otherwise were not part of my World Domination Plan.

My mind controlled minions who manufacture and place these throughout SL for have trouble following instructions.

What I commanded was "put tansmitter in head". Cant explain how they took that as
"make more headless babies".

Sorry, good smart minions are hard to find these days.

No comparison in that sense was meant, and I hope you see that from the less serious posts.

I was just following the TOS and keeping all of this game related. If it wasn't, then this thread would have vanished long ago, and the nearly 3K views it had so far would never had happened.

Well if you are going the world domination route, at least do it right. Here are a few tips ...

...

5. The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my safe-deposit box. The same applies to the object which is my one weakness.

...

20, Despite its proven stress-relieving effect, I will not indulge in maniacal laughter. When so occupied, it's too easy to miss unexpected developments that a more attentive individual could adjust to accordingly.

...

56 . My Legions of Terror will be trained in basic marksmanship. Any who cannot learn to hit a man-sized target at 10 meters will be used for target practice.

...

61. If my advisors ask "Why are you risking everything on such a mad scheme?", I will not proceed until I have a response that satisfies them.

...

76. If the hero runs up to my roof, I will not run up after him and struggle with him in an attempt to push him over the edge. I will also not engage him at the edge of a cliff. (In the middle of a rope-bridge over a river of molten lava is not even worth considering.)

For the full list, see http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html

And yes, I just hijacked my own thread. Oops.

Just so you know, I cannot have children in RL anymore, so I chose to have one here. I RPed everything out as if it were me. So I hope you understand that no offense was meant to anyone, just that we wanted to let others know what happened.

As for the grave, that was our decision. We did not ask anyone to come by, they came on their own. It is a memorial to what we wanted, and also what can happen.

On a lighter side, maybe someone will start a "prim" health insurance company to avoid situations like this :)

Well, I hope you enjoy the new baby you do have, and can put this whole unfortunate experience with the other clinic behind you.

Moving on...
07-26-2006 08:19
Thank you everyone for reading this post, and we hope that it prevents others from going through what we did.

Yes, we are moving on. We are very happy with the baby we had from Bundle of Joy. In fact, when the time comes, we will go there again. But there is plenty of time for that. We have decided to not have an avitar played child, but to send the baby to private school when she is 'old enough'.

Right now we are concentrating on my Photography Studio, and I am still learning to make furniture and jewelry. So there will be a store as well. We are also planning to do some landscaping at our home. And in all that make time for each other :)

Cannae and I are a friendly couple, and love to meet new friends ingame.

Ooh! OOH! I was gonna give a snarky response at that, but I have something better!

Cannae, don't adopt a furry. Many of us are already adults, and while many appear to be docile, we always pose a risk of unexpectedly biting, digging up carpets, or carrying diseases. (Fleas, mostly, but still)

ADOPT AN ALT!

As demonstrated by the above post, hundreds of alts are being registered every day. Many of them are only used once, or very few times. Some are created solely for manual labor and carrying their primary's inventory or money. Most are simply abandoned after a few days. Precious few are truly given a voice of their own beyond a few forum posts or spouting vengeful remarks from around a mute filter.

Alts are truly sad creatures, trivialized by their creators, rarely acknowledged, and still eyed with suspicion as to their true motives. Bring one into your home today, and give it a nice poseball to cling to, even if you can't give them more than a chair in the corner it's still better than simply vanishing away and being forgotten.

A humble memorial

With today's technology, there is no reason a baby should have a detached head.

Can't argue with a statement like that.

I own Wish Upon A Star and feel you should all know the exact situation. Nala and her husband came through my process, when one of the updates had happened I was having some errors with the babies. My scripter began working on these errors and at the same time Nala's husband began telling me how I needed to just give them the baby, so I sent them the trial version..... There was clearly some issues with the baby, however I felt it was better to let them see that for themselves rather then continue to be screamed at by her husband. Prior to sending out the baby I had been threatened and screamed at and had really had my fill of all the nasty treatment. When the error with the baby happened I offered to redo her whole pregnancy for free, that wasnt enough so I offered her a gift certificate in the FULL amount she paid for her pregnancy, even though she had received my services. Again all I got was cussing screaming and threats....... Now I feel I went above and beyond with apologies. The day after I had sent her trial baby to her which she had to have right then, I had the completed babies with no errors at all. I was told she didnt want the baby, now let me ask what more could I have done under these conditions?

It's been my exp that people don't just message vendors "cussing and screaming" but you gave no background on why that happened, so I would have to take the side of the customer. As a vendor you should be used to the "nasty treatment" its YOUR job to make customers happy. Thats why its called CUSTOMER SERVICE, because you are in the service of the customer. If you knew you had an error, why did you let him buy the package to begin with? I know the Grim babies people have had their share of errors, and I have never met an unhappy customer, why do you think that is? I would tell anyone I know to stay away from your shop, and I would refer them to people that could take the heat!
