A humble memorial
My SL partner and I had a baby in SL. We must have wished upon the right star, as for only 9,000 lindens, we were promised a pregnancy shape and AO, weekly clinic appoitments, classes, and a baby object with scripts and attachments.
But alas, it was not to be. We knew something was wrong, my partner's shape just wasn't quite right. We hoped to bring our concerns to the clinic, but could not as they missed or mis-scheduled most of the weekly appointments. IMs were unanswered, and concern grew as the clinic appeared empty.
Left with no choice, we changed clinics to Bundle of Joy, who for a fraction of the price, delivered. We were told that by the first clinic there were no refunds, but they promised to provide the baby. While 9K was expensive, we agreed, provided the baby was sent in advance of the delivery date.
What we got a headless baby with broken scripts. It was sent back noting that time was of the essence.
As of 3 days after the delivery by the second clinic (Bundle of Joy, who were wonderful to deal with), we still don't have the first baby. Instead, we did get a nice lecture from the current owner of Wish that she does not issue refunds under any circumstances.
So that our $9,000 lindens does something good, we have decided the baby from Wish Upon A Star is dead, and have made a small grave in our yard and put up an in loving memory of her in the classifieds, so that others may know of what happened.
I was contacted by the owner of the first clinic, who told me she was reporting me to LL.
So remember our little one who deserved much better. With today's technology, there is no reason a baby should have a detached head. And if any of you or anyone you know desires to have a baby in SL, make sure you shop around for the right clinic. We didn't and are now out 9K and still no baby.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of one of your twins. Luckily better caregivers were able to deliver your second child. I hope the joy you find will help dull the pain of your complicated delivery.

If you have modify permissions on the infant i have a jack o lantern from last halloween you could link in the missing head's place. Let me know if you want it. My most sincere condolences on your loss(es).

It's a wonder that Wish Upon A Star is still in business, it seems like every thread like this (and there have been a lot, ugh) have been about them. Headless babies are a new low, though!

In loving memory of our little Angel

I would like everyone to know what happens when you put your trust in someone only to have it crushed.
I wore my pregnancy attachments faithfully for 6 weeks in RL, not turning it off for any reason. For the money spent, I expected the best, but got the worst. This is not a flame thread, nor is it misleading information. It is simply the truth. Since the baby from Wish was not returned fixed as promised before the delivery date, I worked it in as the baby being born deformed and having died in the womb, which is why I did not feel it move. There were twins. The first was born healthy (Baby from Bundle of Joy), and the second one came last. It made no sounds, as the mother I didnt even see her.
But I do have pictures of her, taken when I recieved her and before she was sent back to be "fixed" and returned the next day in time for the delivery. I waited. Nothing. No contact. My partner and I were very excited about the twins. We decided that a refund was due to us. Instead, we got nothing but the offer of a new baby to be delivered. That is like putting the corpse back in then delivering it, since by then we already had a grave in our back yard for the little one.
Sure, it is a prim, but Second Life is just that, your Second Life, and what would you do?

This is typical...... Pregnant Avatars in second life frequently drink, smoke, take drugs, and shove things up their vaginas that suggest those very vaginas operate on a principle similar to a tardis, then theyre surprised when the child has birth defects!!!!!

It's a PRIM BABY. It's just prims. Good point but there is a reason for that. After Wish messed up, we changed clinics to Bundle of Joy. Their package included a baby object too, so we were getting one from Wish and BOJ. We role played it as twins. We told Wish that given the dubious level of services they had provided, we were willing to let bygones be bygones if the baby object was provided in advance of the due date. It was but it came without a head or working scripts. It was sent back to be fixed and Wish again dropped off the face of the earth. It was only after they failed to retun the object in a timely fashion that we asked for a refund and was told no. We still don't have it even today.

When people get screwed out of their $L in SL it sucks so you have my sympathies.
But there are so many things about your story that have me biting my tongue to keep from misbehaving.
