From: Nyx Divine When people get screwed out of their $L in SL it sucks so you have my sympathies.
But there are so many things about your story that have me biting my tongue to keep from misbehaving. Well, overpaying for the service was our fault, we should have shopped around more, but that didn't happen for reasons that are not relevant. This was not the first time I've overpaid for something in SL and I doubt if it will be the last. But the bottom line is we paid for services and a working object and they were not delivered. When the broken baby object was given to us, we wanted the baby object fixed and returned to us in time to coordinate with the second clinic. If Wish couldn't do that, even an IM saying they needed more time would have been acceptable and I would not have requested a refund. Instead we got a a lecture of a no refund policy and promises of a gift certificate followed by a real bad attitude. I hope that others had a better experience with Wish than we did, and perhaps there were RL issues preventing the owner of Wish from fullfilling their end of the agreement. If so, they should have given us our money back, its as simple as that.

From: Lucifer Baphomet This is typical...... Pregnant Avatars in second life frequently drink, smoke, take drugs, and shove things up their vaginas that suggest those very vaginas operate on a principle similar to a tardis, then theyre surprised when the child has birth defects!!!!! Now that is very funny, and in disturbing sort of way reminds me of intimate moments with a RL ex!

I was very sorry to have learned of your loss. And I think you very lovingly paid tribute to your baby besides letting residents of SL, who are thinking of giving birth, choose a reliable clinic. I think all residents should be made aware of businesses who have not resolved viable issues of goods or services rendered. In fact, SL has a Better Business Bureau (under groups). We should all take advantage of it and use it as one would in RL before buying.

Hmm, since you didn't get a head with your baby I wonder if there is another baby out there with 2 heads. And if so is the speech script in the left or the right head or maybe its in both so the heads talk to one another?

From: Mickey McLuhan I... I... wow. Can I link to this thread on the next "Furries are weird" flamewar? 'cuz THIS is some freaky shit right here. This is wierdness on a new scale that has nothing to do with furries whatsoever. You want to gripe about the fact you paid $30US for something that did not get delivered to the agreed specifications, I'm with you. Otherwise this reminds me of the "Cabbage Patch Kid" that got chewed up by a dog, was sent back to the factory for repair, and was instead returend to the owner with a Death Certificate. Its just funny.

All these horror stories about prim babies are why I've started asking my SL partners to wear prim condoms on their Xcite attachments.

This whole thing is psychologically whacked. I'm simply sitting here with my jaw open, dumbfounded. Laughing and crying at this... not laughing at this instance and situation, but simply blown away at the weirdness of prim-baby technology. I just don't get it.

From: Karsten Rutledge It's a wonder that Wish Upon A Star is still in business, it seems like every thread like this (and there have been a lot, ugh) have been about them. Headless babies are a new low, though! Are they still running?

Some couples are incapable of having children, or have had stillbirths or other horrendous things happen to them. SL gives them an opportunity to role-play the process of birth, which many find helps them heal. There have been cases before where this particular sl company has let people down, and the result has been devastating for them. Not saying that is the case here, but nevertheless, people often invest a great deal emotionally in a sl baby. I really wish there was some way of closing this company down before they can do any more harm to people.

This is probably one of the worst things I've read about. Regardless on how you feel on prim babies, taking something as emotional as this, ripping people off of money, and then giving them some sort of freak experience instead of a nice happy event they wanted to have... well... that's just every bit of wrong. I feel for them :/

It's a PRIM BABY. It's just prims. Well my post was intended to be somewhat tonque in cheek. It really is not funny though to be frauded of your $L. It sounds like this couple got very shoddy service. Definately not what was promised.

On a serious note, sure theres a certain comedy value in the situation.... but Cannae paid $30 worth of lindens, and got no return. That's not a laughing matter. If you paid $30 dollars for a bottle of malt whisky, got broken empty bottle given to you, im damn sure you'd want the whiskey you paid for, or your cash back.

From: Luciftias Neurocam What's "emotional" about buying a bunch of prims shaped like a baby? Than, say, buying some prim shoes? Emotions are in one's mind. Just like "fun" from seeing your avatar "dance" or "fly", even though it's just set of pixels on screen of some piece of hardware. People choose to make-believe in all kinds of things, their right and no one else's business as long as it doesn't affect them.
