What about the group was wrong? Agreed, the picture was wrong. But what was wrong about a group who believe in bestiality? I mean, of course, as opposed to everything else which is apparently okay.

Is there a real-world law against it or something?

Peter Singer, Princeton professor of ethics, believes, among other things - such as it's okay to kill defective babies up to, oh, say four months or so after birth, since they aren't people yet (I know this because I corresponded with him to determine, among other things, what the exact cut-off date was, and it was "oh, maybe three or four months" as I recall), and also to put elderly or handicapped people out of our misery - that bestiality is a perfectly okay thing.

My own position on it is that it isn't okay, because it is not with the full - i.e., knowledgable - permission of the animal involved. Sometimes the animals are taken against their will. Other times, the animal may not realize what indignity he is partaking of, much as denuding a senile old woman and posing her for porn pictures takes away her innate dignity many civilized people tend to think every person (sentient or not) should be allowed to maintain.

Now, why did the group itself get rubbed out? Is just role-playing bestiality, or talking about bestiality, against some real-world law?

I agree with the refusal to allow the Nazi stuff. But . . . what's so much worse about role-playing bestiality than, say, role-playing slavery, age playing, and all of that?

I can understand refusing to allow builds and so forth that portray intolerance (toward Jews, for example). But why delete a group that professes to like doing it with dogs?

From collecting what's being said here, the group actually took part in bestial acts in RL, which would justify why LL got rid of it. I mean, who wants to harbor a criminal under their roof? (call me a hypocrite if you want, I'm sure I've broken some sort of law in my life)

As far as the ethics discussion, it's no straight line between right and wrong. You can consider many factors. Sure, it's not bad if you're hurting the animal. But as Coco said the animal isn't fully aware of what he/she is doing, so that could make it wrong. Roleplaying, sure. You won't find me near that group, but it's human nature to fantasize, and I try to respect other people's opinions like I do my own. However, if you like sneaking out at night to 'hang out' in barns, be my guest, just don't get upset if you're hauled away in cuffs.

Uh, considering the group is about fucking dogs IRL (In real life, just for clarification), yes?

Just did a brief perusal on Google regarding this, and several sources said that bestiality is a misdemeanor under California law, which would make it illegal.

I think y'all are right, that it is the "in real life" component of the group that made them get banished.

Which makes me think if a bestiality group who DIDN'T claim to do this in real life, but only role-play it, would be allowed.

Kind of the difference between role-playing killing (war is a common example) and being a group claiming to be dedicated to killing in real life.

As for Peter Singer, I disagree with all of his views. I thought maybe that he didn't have kids, but he did - three or four, I think. I guess he just didn't consider them human (!) at an early age. I disagreed with that completely, as I believe all infants lack is experience, language, and biological maturation.

He didn't euthanize his own mother, either, I learned later, but put her in a home. So I doubt that if push came to shove, he would actually put these beliefs into practice. (At least not for his own family.)

Anyway, your answers have satisfied me. I think "promoting a real-life crime (in California, though not in all states)" is a good enough reason to off the group.

Search for "Beast Masters!" in Groups. Same dogfucking icon, same founder, same 49 members. Just the group title changed within a few minutes.
