Yet her profile claims that she avoids drama at all costs? Isn't it funny that the ones who say "No drama!" in their profile are always the ones seeking it out at all costs?

It's a warning label... If you want NO DRAMA!, then avoid this person. :D

Some people are sensitive about keys for some reason. I really can't quite get it. I put in a privacy statement on my sim voting system (it collects names and keys for verification) but really... as I say there
From: someone
you should be aware that anyone who can get within 96m of you, or any object you own, in Second Life, can get both your name and your key - this is not secret data

I'm very concerned about information rights personally, I campaign about it in RL, but there are some issues which actually matter and some which don't. It's like keys are magic or something.

Touche! I am just sick and tired of the constant attacks from fucktards like this person. Every week it is someone new with some new bullshit drama being spewed.

I am gonna start handing out Fucktard of the Week Awards soon.

The purpose of the script is to prove what damage your databases can do not that I intend to use it I left the Relay for Life team so I dont have to deal with you not that I will stop supporting the cause but whatever. You want to call it drama fine I am simply tired of people using information about me without my consent or knowledge for whatever reason under the guise that it is "public" information - opting out is a little tough to do when you never know you were opted in

What I find absolutely hilarious is that her email to me came from a domain name which it looks like she owns and has her RL address, telephone number and name details listed on the lookup :)

Obviously this person really cares about her privacy.

hehehehe, yeah, and she chose to threaten me when I have her IP address and a timestamp. Now, I'll only ever use that to gather her information if she attempt to or does harm to SLBoutique, and wouldn't ever share it with anyone within SL, but still...it goes to show the technical understanding level of the individual in question.

Clearly, just looking for her daily dose of drama. *sigh*

-Flip

No, the point of the script you were threatening to code was to create drama. You're going to be violating the ToS intentionally here and will most likely be banned if you continue on this path.

In 2+ years of these databases being available, NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAS BEEN SPAMMED OR HARASSED, and we all offer opt-out (even though that isn't required by the ToS). Why didn't you even bother to read this thread to educate yourself before flipping out? I really hope that you learn what this is all about before continuing to make uninformed wild accusations. A database like mine is harmless; using avatar keys in a malicious manner using LSL is NOT harmless. Therefore, you'd be the one created the harmful device here; not me. Simply logic.

You can opt out with out being a psycho though I guess some things come more natually than others. Keep on posting threats and we'll keep on abuse reporting you. Enjoy your bannination if you keep this up.

Just want to make it clear that I do not provide an opt-out as I am not required to do so by the ToS, the information basically amounts to being public and it is so trivial to obtain. The whole idea of opt-out is built around mailing lists and I don't even maintain my db for mailing lists. If you want to run a mailing list with one of these db's then you need to obtain individual opt-ins for your particular recipient list, otherwise it's spam. So opt-in/opt-out is kind of a smokescreen really and hardly apt.

The w-hat service also doesn't provide an opt-out as far as I'm aware.

Leave the poor lass alone now, folks. We all know she was willfully ignorant and then compounded her sin by being mouthy, but mute fixes the problem nicely and without all the sticky stuff getting on you.

She probably knows her mistake by now, but internet egos forbid apologies or admitance of mistake. Just let her go, and perhaps she will learn from it...

Course, if she comes back and repeats her error? Then by all means, chop her up and feed her to the forum trolls!

Hehehe I have the template almost done. You can be an honorary fucktard if you would like. ;)

Is your goal to return this list to the black market where keys are collected and traded covertly? What advantage do secret collection and sharing provide over an open list with an opt-out feature?

~Ulrika~

A lot less people had access to them when it was all shady. Now every scumball in and out of SL can go to your site and get them with ease. :( So, thanks to your so-called 'good works', you just increased the likelyhood of malicious use. Way to go! NOT!

I will be opting out next time I am ingame.

But then how do LL regulate 3rd party websites if they insist on doing something like that anyway?

Easy enough, when someone reports a site like this, LL could easily say 'Take it down by tomorrow noon or we ban you.' Real, real easy to do...and according to TOS they can ban anyone for any reason...if they really needed a reason, 'harassment of other players' since folks ARE complaining.

I just wish the Lindens had a few more developed vertibrae (they are, at times, barely one step above invertibrates) in their spines and would stand up to the ingame businessfolk doing this sort of thing and tell them 'No'. Lack of permission should NEVER be treated as an OK...Opt-in is the ONLY ethical method of doing what Ulrika and others are doing, IMO.

Except there is nothing in the TOS, or even common ethics, which would apply.

It's as damaging as collecting names.
