It's so cool getting to see all this stuff. I can't believe you guys made an Eagle. Are you going to make the super-cool pistols?

Laputa: Castle in the Sky counts as sci-fi, right? I made a little flitter based on the ones the pirates use in the movie. It actually flies, using Cubey's DIY helicopter script.

This is some great stuff! Really covering the gamut from the common to the rare (Most of the Grid Bug segments were cut from the movie Tron, but I'm happy to see that someone else thought they were cool too
![]() Perhaps I'll tackle a full replica of the Discs of Tron game... that'd be a toughie as it has lots of angular shapes (the control joystick alone would be more prims than a standard joystick, for sure). Great work everyone! _____________________

Does Starcraft (sci fi RTS game) count? I made several vehicles (Wraith and vulture, eventually goliath) and three AV's (marine, firebat, and medic) Im going to get to the ghost sometime, and eventually a battlecruiser.

I'm currently working on an Eagle One myself. I saw the pics posted earlier by Mary Edison, fantastic work! It looks very much like the ones on the show. Mine is more my own interpretation of the eagle and like everything else I make it doesn't move
![]() Here are some pics, I have added much to the Eagle since these pics, I'll be posting more soon. By the way I'm up to 1800 prims so far, woo hooo!! http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=4851&sort=PictureID+desc&Name=ahkenatan+Grommet http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=4852&Name=ahkenatan+Grommet http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=4853&Name=ahkenatan+Grommet http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=4854&Name=ahkenatan+Grommet http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=4856&Name=ahkenatan+Grommet |

Sci Fi Museum
04-12-2005 10:59
I'd like to invite everyone to come to the Sci Fi Museum in Indigo (thanks for the earlier plug, Torley). Right now, the museum is featuring full size, fully explorable USS Defiant and Klingon Bird of Prey (both accessable through the Voyager-style transporters in the museum proper), working holodeck showing lots of exhibits donated by various creators, the world's most acurately detailed stargate, DHD, & ring transporter, and a movie theater on the second floor. The building itself is currently a replica of Starfleet Headquarters (in the past it has been the LV-426 colony from Aliens, the Klingon capitol building, and a few other things at various times).
I'll post more recent pics when I get a chance, but for now there are a lot at http://www.scifigeeks.net/secondlife_images.htm. (Please note that TONS of improvements to many of the exhibits have been made since the existing pics were taken so be sure to visit the museum.) It looks like a lot of people on this thread have made some great things I haven't seen before. The museum is a popular place to let the public view your creations on a regular basis. Anyone interested in donating IM me in world. In most cases, as long as your item can fit in the holodeck (20x20x10), that's where it will go. Also, we can probably make arrangements for larger items. _____________________

Land now available for rent in Indigo. Low rates. Quiet, low-lag mainland sim with good neighbors. IM me in-world if you're interested. |

The robot is by Yadni Monde. Robby is soooo cool. Cheap too. It is an avatar and he sells it at his anti-junkyard.

Ooh, looks awesome!
Incidentally (though neither is really from anything), I was thinking of making a sci-fi-ish "mobile home", as well as a one-person motorbike. (The problem, as I've said in another thread, is that it sort of gets stuck when I try to rez it in on top of an object ...) |
