my pet peeve

My pet peeve is those scary smile attachments that noobies wear. *shivers* I also have a very low "bling" threshold and want to throttle anyone wearing enough bling to send me into seizures... especially bling on shoes... what's up with that? How many of us own sparkly shoes, unless we're tap-dancers maybe. hmmmmmm

My pet peeves:

1. Freebie sellers (or otherwise unethical merchants)

2. Attention seeking griefers

3. Ad Farm (I mean, why make a landscape ugly when it doesn't even work)

4. A shoe up my butt (and no, that hasn't been fixed)

5. Prim Shimmer...you know, when inexperienced people make buildings, and they copy an item in such a way as to have two surfaces overlap each other at the exact same setting that the system cannot tell which to render in front causing the surface to shimmer.

6. Virtual Smokers...smoking is bad enough in RL.

7. AOLese naming conventions...like Todd6969 Hax or 12345678765432 Babii or Bradley716 Palen (names have been changed to protect the guilty)

I have come up with a "work-a-round" sort of. Since I have a short av I find that babydoll tops make a perfect dress for me and no shorts required! This wouldn't work for your average amazon sized woman.

actually there is a reason for the shorts

there is a little bug that it leaves a line along the waist in some cases depending on the layers used so the shorts kinda hide that bug

so "bug" linden labs to get rid of the "bug" and then we can loose them shorts ^^

I dont think i have any pet peeves really so

well maybe the guys that yell at me when i leave my avatar because something happened too fast in real world to worry about AFK/BUSY and they are yelling at me i'm ignoring them and how i'm gonna loose a sale. I have to kinda tell them that its just my avatar there and I had to abandon the keyboard to do something in real world

I tend to hide as a result of hating getting yelled at for such things

I also hate being blammed for asset server issues or not being online when I"m asleep you know silly things like that

Pet Peeves
1) Bugs
2) Lag
3) Walking in SL in one sim, falling accidentally in another.
4) When things aren't working or I can't figure out something due to Brain Lag or Biocomputer failure.
5) Judgemental, rude & annoying people be they pixelated or not.

i agree with almost all the pet peeves here but i have some more to add to this list:
- complete strangers who ask me for lindens and then when I say I don't have any to give them, they get all pissy with me
- people (and not necessarily just newbs) who try to offer me friendship before even saying a single word to me

Ooooh, a vent thread

Well, for the aeronautically inclined, it has to be the fact that a full parcel can send one flying off into the bowels of the Virtual Earth, sometimes requiring a restart of the computer. Bouncing off a full parcel I could accept, but crashing the client is a bit much.

Oh, there is a JIRA out on this, but it has been there for some time, I think.

I think mine have been covered butthey are:

* Mainly newbie guys with no payment info that push me about while offering friendship & while their damn p**** Can we say that lol is out & while they're IM'ing for sex. Are these people real? Do they act this way in r/? I really don't wanna know

* The skirts issue, & especially if they're no modify & I have it shift about when flying or tp'ing & can't fix it, or they're huge around the waist. I wear Zoe's too & HATE the shorts under the normal ones, if Zoe can surely everyone can?

* People who don't respect privacy, some ask thousands of questions before saying hi, some think it's ok to hover outside a bedroom window & look in for ages etc etc

* I can't remember anymore, that bugs me too lol

A guy today spoke to me, the first thing he says is Who's the Dad? (I'm pregnant) .. umm would he know even if I said a name? .. then when's it due, is it a boy or a girl etc etc, then do you have kids in real life, to which I say sorry but I don't discuss real life with guys I don't even know, so he says so you could be a guy, I say probably & he flys off, greatttttt

Shoes are meant to be worn. Jackets and trousers are usually on mannequins so why not shoes?
Take my fiancee. We go down the street and there's a shoe shop. "Oh!" she says, "I must just try them" .. so she does .. and then another pair .. in fact the entire shop display. My pet peeve? Naww! that's not it!

My pet peeve is ... why is there never a pub near a shoe shop?

I wouldn't mind that either actually, shoe shopping does tire a girl out. I remember when I would ask my Dad if he would like to go to the Mall with Mom and me. he would ask , "Is there a bar in this Mall?" If not, he would gracefully decline.

I have a pet peave with people who spend a good deal of time decribing their real life and pry into yours - to the extent that everything that would be covered during a RL first date is covered.

And then ask you out - even though you made it clear you dont use SL as a way to meet people for Real Life relationships.

If they are that much RL involved when you just meet - how the heck are they going to keep things casual when you are dating?

I'm sorry I don't do impressions. I'm lousy with voices.

This is a curiosity of mine. Most of the people I've met seem to have it together enough in RL that they, like me, use SL as a form of entertainment/therapy/whatever but they recognize real people are behind the avatars, so generally respect others. It's almost like SL life is the double-life. Straying outside of SL context is a little off-putting.

i.e. One can be happily married in RL and both you and your spouse have SL personas that run around and play/date/meet and have fun with other SL persons. It's all cool.

BUT, what happens when you get someone who uses SL to replicate RL desires for a RL relationship etc. Enter the long distance relationship scenario and a whole host of other potentially unnerving scenarios. Mind, I know that some VR relationships that spread into RL DO work... I'm not saying they don't. But it's a tricky situation when someone like me keeps RL and SL separate -- with the exception that my personality is the same.

I'm just rambling aren't I? I'll shut up now and have some coffee. LOL
