Hi All, If you could have any musical artists perform for the residents of SL, who would they be. I need as many responses as humanly possible. And please don't concern yourself about technology(let me do that). What i am looking for is everyones top ten wish list, and again i need as many responses as possible.

I think SL is a media that only Beck could utilize to it's fullest potential...him and Gwar.

I'd love it if there was a way SL could be used for something like Western Opera Theater* - that is, provide a way for young opera singers to be heard. They would gain some measure of experience even in VR, while I'd be overjoyed to listen.
*Gone but not forgotten, it was young artists traveling productions under the aegis of the SFO.

Agree, Beck would rock. Ben Folds Jet Paul McCartney Dave Matthews Torley Wong-Linden Brian Transeau Brian Eno (Maybe a Roxy Music reunion?) And forget Slayer (that was a joke?) - Aerosmith. Steven Tyler would go apeshit on Second Life (No offense to the grid monkeys) and I honestly think the guys would do it, too.
I could write pages upon pages, but I'll stop here.

The Beatles. The Stones, Janis Joplin, Queen, The Police, The Benny Goodman Orchestra (I like Big band Swing) Led Zepplin, The Who, David Bowie, Meatloaf, Ozzy Osbourne, Sinead O'Conner, Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel.
I could carry on, but this is good for a start.

Other status, such as Verified Bot, Verified Dead and Verified AI (version) soon to come! Pricing starts at $L 10, and may require that you produce your own death certificate, version control number or product serial number.

I'd like to see bands that have kind of disappeared or ones that really can't get back together in real life.

I am not sure what the OP is asking here. Are you asking for a list of our favorite groups or are you asking for a lst of groups that you may contact to perform in SL?

Oh, I thought you were asking about music people might want to actually listen do rather than celebrity knockoff lipsynchers. Out of the list, only Madonna and only her earlier stuff.

I agree with Angelique on Ozzy. I could provide a hand-held prim bat or prim snake, with a removeable head or would that be broadly offensive? Ronny James Dio would be nice too. Or Iron Maiden, if they promise to play only older songs from the 80's (I could build them a prim Eddie as a stage mascot). Newer bands... hm. Tristania would be great. Or Guano Apes, to name a decent German rock band.
