Apparently, the one banned were also were sending each other real photos of underaged kids. Not just avvie sex. That makes a big difference.

Note that in the German TV story, quite a few diferent avatars were depicted engaged in ageplay. Yet only one couple was banned, that we know of.

If you come to SL for the ageplay, here is my suggestion:

1) Don't put anything in your profile about ageplay.

2) Have your child AV stretched to an adult height in public.

3) When in the privacy of your own land, shrink yourself back to child-size and talk in IM only.

4) If you want to engage in adult poseball activity, do it in your skybox with the security orb and ban lines on.

5) Don't alert the media.

So, it appears those banned were banned explicitly for the real-world porn that they were swapping back and forth through SL. Not for the ageplay pixel-slapping.

Now they could mean Child Porn instead - But the gist could very well be the Partial Ban on sexual Ageplay that existed is now a Total Ban.

Why are you suggesting work-arounds for sexual ageplay? Particularly on public forums.

It gives off the impression that it is tolerated as long as it is done on the sneak.

No tolerance means no tolerance.

There is no place for this type of activity in SL or anywhere else.

Would help if Linden Labs were more clear about banning it though.

Raymond's suggestions were accurate under the old partial ban - I dont think we can be 100% sure the Blog post means a complete ban.

If it does - then your completely right - we shouldnt suggest "workarounds"

Wouldn't surprise me if some of the Quacks out there actually suggested coming to SL to act out as Therapy.

My point being that it should not be tolerated at all. While true, consenting adults should be able to do whatever they want, SL is a public platform open to the public and there is no expectation of privacy anywhere on the platform. Engaging in sexual acts with a child is not only illegal, but also perverted, and highly offensive to most of us. Or atleast I would hope it is. Ban the act altogether and then there wont be any gray areas as to whether it is banable or not. But even more to the point, our bheaviour and morality shouldn't be predicated on whether we may be banned or not for said behavior. Some things are just gross and wrong regardless. And this is one of them. Ick!

problem being is SL seems full of grey areas. LL has been loathe to outright ban anything.

How did anyone else see this? When I get a pic from someone it doesn't show up in world, just on my screen? Did these two actually rez an object and put the pic. on it???? Is LL screening our inventories for "illegal" textures? How would the German Media even know what things two people were swapping back and forth?

To be perfectly honest, I am way against adult sex with children, and adult sexual age play...but...

#1 there shouldn't be any minors on the grid to have virtual sex with
#2 adults age play in RL, and should have that freedom in SL
#3 as has been pointed out before in other threads, only sex with minors is illegal, pretending to be a minor and having sex is protected in the US by the first ammendment.

I'm not sure what exactly the big issue is, if there are (theoretically) no minors on the grid then who cares if it looks like someone is having sex with a child...it's obviously not one!

Also, who is to say that it's not just a short avie? My avie in SL is 6'7" by relative height comparison. I am 5'0" in RL, an avie in my actual height would look like a child. Would I get banned for just being short if someone assumed that I was a child avie? Once again, an issue where the line is EXTREMELY thin. LL needs to be VERY clear of the policy and consequences...are they going to ban short avie's so that they don't look like children?

Um... no. Child AV's are NOT children. They're just not. Any more than they're adults or huskies or fairies or lions or tigers or bears. They are not children. Someone in a geisha AV is not controlling a small asian lady. Someone in a horse AV is not controlling an anthropomorphic equine.

They are depicting children, it's not depicting an adult dressed up as a child. That's a huge huge difference.

Lets say your engaging in MSN sexuall activities with a undercover police officer in the UK pretending to be a child.... you WILL be arrested and placed on athe sex offenders register BECASUE regardless of wether or not its make believe .... in the eyes of MOST countries (cant speak for all) any and i mean ANY representation of a sexual act involving children is deamed as paedophilia and as such illegal.

If we flick that around and say that its a child pretending to be an adult ..... then we have a different scenario that you were lead unknowing.
