From: Ciaran Laval I'm not at all convinced by this argument, less items yes, but there will also be less eyes. People who sell on Xstreet often buy on Xstreet, those who delist are likely to stop shopping there too. This is true with me. I left any sales revenue in Xgreed so I could purchase items I saw that I wanted. After I delisted my line, I sent all my monies back in-world and don't plan on logging into Xgreed if I can help it. To creators - Please, please try to display new releases somewhere else, along with a SLurl so I can continue to find impulse sales.

From: Rene Erlanger Not sure the could ever do that...Xstreet uses the same delivery systems as the other Shopping sites. In some way.. Our site is using some type of the same system of XStreet to delivery object via web (i just can imagine how they system works because i never saw the script inside the magic box). From: Phil Deakins If others take off, I'm sure they'd find a way to allow only their own system to make deliveries, even if it's just intercepting the others - same as they can intercept 3rd party viewers and clients if they want to. Xmlrpc will be shuting down soon (i think) and the new http server will be on the main grid as a replacement (i see great things with this). Maybe LL can integrate 100% the delivery system with the grid and be more eficient (or not) But for breaking out all the web pages as Xstreet and keep the market, they need to "delete" varius LSL funtions ,block comunication outside the server etc to acomplish that.Ofcourse LL can do it and we cant ever complain...

I've just removed all my items...
Day by day, month by month, SL becomes less and less pleasure becuase of these new changes all the time - theres always something and this time, just in time for Christmas..
Keep trying to break your customers LL, we can only bend so much before we snap and quit the whole thing... When that happens, you won't be able to give away your "land" never mind sell it.

From: Marcel Flatley @Qie: Free receiver = 99 linden a month HUD: 10 linden a month HUD pair: 10 linden a month
Costs: 119 linden
You say you sell 2 of the huds on average, so thats 600 linden - 30 = 570 linden.
Now that seems more then the 119, so why couldn't you afford it? Marcel, you already know I respect what you've done in SL. And I'm sure your business sense is stronger than mine. Everything you stated is true, but let's look at it another way: Current monthly cost to Qie: L$30 Future monthly cost: L$149 (L$119 + 30) That's quite an increase in cost! L$1 short of being five times the current cost. Now, the current cost is certainly not much, and one could argue that Qie should pay more for the service. (That said, I doubt many would support such a huge difference.) Of course, cost wasn't the stated reason for making changes. We've been told that changes need to be made to get rid of the cruft. None of Qie's listings are cruft. Qie's situation is a perfect example (among many) for demonstrating how ridiculous the Xstreet changes are.

Welcome to the real SL I stopped having any interest in SL six months ago or more, largely because of LL's decisions. When it stops being financially rewarding, I'll close the store. Until then, I just ride along without putting any effort of note into it. I never had anything in XSL, so I can't remove anything, but I would if I could.

From: Marcel Flatley Well happy to please To inform you a bit about my use of XStreet: Most of what I buy is through there. Simply because I never saw my XStreet earnings as actual income, untill about a month ago I did not even keep track of it. So if I spend a few thousand on a tool or building, it is through XStreet. Probably spent somewhere between 50 and 100K there this year. And yes, 80% is either crap, or multiple lsitings of the same item in different colors. Which sucks if you search for something. The marketplace is flooded indeed, but not with good stuff. That would not be a problem. It is flooded by crap (well and the multi-color stuff, which is not always crap of course). So if most crap is removed, and colors are multi-listed in 1 entry, the marketplace will be a lot better. If you then look for a jacket, a page will show 30 different items of reasonable to good quality. Not 30 of the same jacket in different colors, not 25 crappy jackets and 5 good or average ones. Improvement in my eyes. As said by others these "improvements" you are looking for could be done without the charges. These types of improvements are things Xstreet should have received when LL annexed it. My hair business is a hobby business to me. I don't make nearly enough to provide for myself RL off of SL earnings, but I do make enough to feel betrayed once again by LL by slapping more charges on things for their own revenue while disguising it as "cleaning it up." My taking down my things has nothing to do with trying to "take down Xstreet" or LL because that would be ridiculous, but does have everything to do with not wanting to do business on the terms we are looking to get anally raped every 6-12 months when LL passes policy Z forcing residents to pay X more money per month. You also failed to comment on the charges for multi-listings which were sent in Pink Linden's merchant survey. Changes need to come without cost to your average merchant and definitely without cost to the creative minds donating free resources to the community without any marketing affiliations.

From: sable Valentine /me shamefully scours freebie pages picking up stuff now before all the good stuff is gone. I started doing the exact same thing when I got a notice of this inworld in a group. If it were not for the forum posts I wouldn't have known this. Thanks. I have bought every single freebie to page 56 so far and had to stop, my inventory is a mess. My favorite freebie is the preacher boots so far. I got them in all colors.

What will happen if you dont pay your listing fees?
11-20-2009 15:52
When they take a percentage commission out of a sale, you cant go negative. But with fixed monthly fees per listing, and a minimum commission its quite possible. So what will happen if you don't have any sales to cover the listing fees? Will it just be delisted? Will they try to suck money out of your Avatar balance or credit card to cover it?

Based on their track record, they will probably lock your account until you pay up, and if you don't pay up in 20 days they'll wipe your in-game assets.

Or take it from your CC And now i saw the last blog post https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/features/blog/2009/11/20/secondlifecom-launched-in-3-new-languages-local-currency-payments-coming-soon?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LindenLab+%28Official+Second+Life+Blog%29From: From the official SL blog Additionally, as you may have seen, we’ve recently signed an agreement with Gisland (actually, you may have seen it called Dragonfish or 888 - 888 Holdings is the public limited company,
So if they want to manage all in - out transactions, what append to the other sites exchanges?? Maybe the next step its closed or "ban" al those sites too?.....

Just like not becoming a premium protects your account from that... so to does removing yourself from XStreet? Greeeaatttt, that will be more incentive for others to leave!

A thought occurred to me - do you need payment info to list on XGreed? Went back to take a look and the first laugh was to discover that almost everything shows up as a Featured Item. Way to stand out! Hunted around in some obscure categories and did an in world search on some names and sure enough NPIOF. So, if these merchants don't de-list (probably because they are an alt or are long since gone) what will happen when it comes around to tax time? Also, did a quick tally of the total number of items (turned adult on to get everything) and... unless I missed something it was barely over 1 million items. Wasn't a figure of 1.5 million items tossed around recently? Rime

From: Darkness Anubis I deleted not deactivate and here is why.
Since the SL act and XStreet Act are connected and LL has shown no reticence to ban a SL act for infractions on the XStreet forums in the past. I Fear that if an Act goes into the red from XStreet charges it will face the same problems a premium that goes into the red in world does. suspend then after a time delete.
I do not trust LL NOT to do this.
It is sad for those customers that often IM'd me about my older work and where to get it as with my choice to leave XStreet it will no longer be available anywhere. But I cannot justify the charges given the rarity of the sales. Darkness- you can list those older items on slapt.me or Metaverse sites....at least you'll have reference points to them.

Don't delete....it might be if LL's XStreet income falls sufficiently enough, there might be a policy reversal to attract Merchants back in. (wishful thinking I know)

It might have been misquoted....but yes, products are dropping off on a daily basis. It will be much worst nearer the deadline date.

Sounds like multipacks will be the go from now on. I guess this means copybotters will actually have to make decent sales to make stolen content worth listing too. Prices will go up and consumers will have to go out and get real jobs to buy stuff

I plan to start pulling my free items tomorrow. The rest will come before the deadline.
I make about $75--$100US per month, probably about half on XStreet. I was just about to change my membership to yearly, and wanted to buy more land which would increase my tier from $15US a month to $25US. I spend everything I make either on tier, membership, buying stuff inworld and XStreet. I'm going to pass on the land now and will not be buying anything on XStreet in the future.

FWIW
Just began a group called "Free For Good."
It is for people who wish to pass out freebies in Second Life, especially for the public benefit. Stipulation, please make sure they are LEGAL (i.e. no copybotted things, obviously!) and also ideally things that you made.
It is free to join. I made it today, so it should be in search shortly, in a day or two, I hope.
It's called "Free For Good" because it's for the public good and also because things given for free in the group should stay free forever i.e. 'for good.'

I think that if enough small-business, hobbyist, and creative merchants pull their stuff off XStreet, the place will get a reputation for not having much variety, and people will stop going there. That will be the most effective way to punish any "top dog" merchants who colluded with LL to get these anti-competitive changes made.
