just rebuilt it last night (still got some finishing touches to add but mostly done)

I found a script in the SL Scripting Forums that does just what you are asking. It will either IM or email you depending on what you tell it to do. Let me know if you'd like it and I will send it your way.

AWWWWWW I just got a chance to rez the fireplace, THAT is adorable, makes me want to make a doll house in SL and furnish it with mini's LOL

I'm impressed with how quickly you're getting started!! Carts are a great way to begin to get your name out there.

Oh! I was using "Timbuktu" as an expression meaning "in the middle of nowhere." (Now I want to check in SL and see if there is a Timbuktu sim...lol.)

I own mainland where I will be putting my main shop (really, I truly will, soon...honestly ) and in the meantime I had a free stall at the Big Dog Free Market for a month or so, rented a cart in Etopia, and now, thanks to the generosity of Rhia (who Eclectic mentioned) have free space in her courtyard area.

What I have found thus far is no matter where I am located, the thing that helps drive sales the most is marketing - in all different forms.

Ty Czari the carts are ok but not exactly in sims with huge traffic, i could not really find any malls out there with free carts that have good decent traffic. They all seemed too be taken lol.

lol good expression and it would be funny if there was a actual sim out there called Timbuktu hehe.

3ring i don't think anyone has compiled a list of bloggers i have not really seen any fashion blogs mentioned other than fashion planet and noone can seem too get into that lol so i don't really know, your best bet might be too go onto there though and see which are offering reviews etc. When i have more time tomorrow i'll see if i can compile a small list and post it here.

Hi..I've been reading this thread for quite awhile now. It's really a good help for me so far. May I know :

1. Is really necessary to have a in-world store? I haven't got one yet. I'm thinking to have more item for my store before I set-up one. What is the best minimum amount of item that people can have at first to start having in-world store?

2. I just create my SLX & Onrez store (just check out my signature). What do you think about the price? Is it too pricy? I know I'm not yet Nicky Ree or Pixeldolls but I try to use the average market price that people use around SL (in-world or out of it a.k.a SLX & OnRez)

Please let me know you input/opinion on this. Thanks.

First WAHOOOOOO I finished reading this thread. Finally!

Now after considerable thinking yes my friends know that I think a lot lol, and they tell me in First Life and Second Life to stop that. But they dont understand I have to study something before I act so to speak lol.

I am putting off on doing my texture store for way after the holidays.

Now dont get me wrong #1 I love Christmas #2 I love textures and the money is great so to speak..... but for some reason I want to build again. So maybe Bec & Company may come to being Becs assorted stuff she enjoys on making when it hits her lol.

My second thing on loving is miniatures.. and Rha sort of pointed that out in a post she did not to me personally, but the fact that she loves them, and I realized taht for about 10 years I have made them in real life. My other love in FL is snowglobes many around in SL but maybe I can bring in the ones I love who knows lol.

So for now I will participate and put my conglomerations up for sale lol if someone finds a use or a cherished moment that can be brought back I am for that.

Your chances of succeeding are much lower without an inworld store.

I've had numerous customers tell me they saw my items in Xstreet SL and OnRez and then came to the shop to have another look and make their purchases. (I always include my SLurl in the posts.) I probably make more sales that way than I make in direct sales in Xstreet and OnRez. And my overall inworld store sales dwarf my Xstreet and OnRez sales. (I've heard many sellers say the same thing.)

An inworld store is probably not an absolute necessity, but you will lose sales without one.

ok yes I do list on SLX but for me when I am looking I go to SLX then search for the person in world for some reason I love that I can go to a store and well see it.

Thanks for advice. Right now I do search a possible place for having a shop in-world.

I'm exactly the same way...I think things up, down, over, out, {and 5 ways to Sunday before I do something. Case in point...I purchased 512 sqm land for my little shop in May...MAY!!!! Then began purchasing more land as it was inexpensive. I went a bit overboard with that and just sold two parcels to tier down.

Is there a store there yet? (There *is* an untextured shop way up in the air that I have procrastinated on texturing.)

But, there is room for us "thinkers" in the world

Until someone is a bit more established, has more products, etc., though, the online stores are a good way to start.

My store must be a bit different in that I do about half my sales online and the other half in world...and the in world part is with a lot of marketing.

I had the absolutely best sales month ever in December! Now "best" is a relative term for some of you larger business owners as my product line is small and I am still working out of one mall space. (Another special, huge THANK YOU to Rhia for her unbelievable kindness and generosity!!)

Most of my sales were due to the holiday/Christmas items I offered so now I need to start gearing up for Valentine's Day. However, I'm actually having people IM me now asking about info on some of my items and when my permanent location will be open and to please invite them, etc.

My deepest thank you to all of you who participate in this thread and your suggestions, tips, etc.

December is the first month that I haven't shown growth, but I did better than I thought I did I think a lot of ppl were rl shopping, also with all the freebie hunts going on, people weren't buying clothes much. I did quite a few sales on a limited edition gown I did for Shine tho, so people's hearts were in the right place lol
