Morning Threadies.

CLAIRE! so nice to hear from you!!! When are you getting back?

Oryx, thanks for the deadline. Next week was looking pretty tough for me and Amara, and I'm very busy in RL with my houseguest.

Speaking of my houseguest, I signed her up on the teen grid. Last night, I heard her really giggling and went to check. She found a stripper pole! I thought the Teen Grid was supposed to be PG. Now I'm a bit worried. Do you think there could be naughty pose balls on the teen grid? I don't want to stare over her shoulder every minute, and she's really enjoying SL, but I also don't want to take the chance she could be exposed to raunchy content. What do you guys think?

Back to work for me.... :)

DEFINITELY WATCH! and have her AR it. teach her now, how to do that! LOL

I know quite a few people who love Nonna Hedges, but the merchandise never really rocked my socks...nothing there ever struck me in that weird "MUST HAVE!" way some other pixellated goods have. *shrug*

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

it has a middle-eastern flavor to it. like stuff an Arab princess might wear. but there are some 'basic' items too. AND, most importanly, she has a free or nearly free section. :D

What, pray tell, is a Calendar Commentator?

Oh and Maureen? If we used a photographer? Will they be getting credit for the photos? Curious.

Elora, the fellas are going to write blurbs corresponding to each month's calendar girl. The months where we have two pinup girls, maybe we should have two commentators. The blurb doesn't have to be a commentary on the photo, per se; it could be just a 10,000 word essay about how fabulous you are!:D

(Ever notice that when you write a word over and over again, it begins to look like gibberish?)

And regarding credit where credit is due: sure! I figure if people also want to list what skin/hair they're wearing, etc., that would be fine, too.

Ann? Anyone? Help?

OK, in all seriousness, I went scrounging around for this skin last night - first posted in the What Should CEO's look like? thread. I couldn't find it. MAD just does shapes from what I can tell. I don't know enough about skins to really be able to tell one designer from another.

This is the first skin I've looked at that I really, really liked. Does anyone know where it's from?

Not a bad idea, but I hate to bother total strangers about stuff like that. I'd buy the shape from him as a professional courtesy if he would spill the beans on the skin, but I'm no good at IM'ing total strangers.

It says it has a 'complete styling card,' which should include info on everything in the picture, including the skin.

It looks kind of Laqroki to me though.

Ahhh...I had no idea at all what a "complete styling card" was. I thought it was some sort of tips on how to condition your hair and use a loofa sponge or something. No prob, then. If I buy the shape, I should be able to find the skin then, right?

Should, but check my edited suggestion before you buy the shape!

Trout:

He's obviously not using the same shape, and the skintone isn't quite right, but here's an example of the Lagroki skins:

Good morning All! (Not yet noon here.)
Stage 7 at Le Tour de France was 159 km or 98.8 miles, up and down pretty much the whole way. There were 5 climbs, in this order: cat.3; cat.4; cat.2; cat.2; cat.3. The lower the number the harder the climb.

There were daring attacks and furious chases all day long with the field often broken into several groups.

The highest climb of the day took the riders into the clouds and at the top many of them accepted newspapers from spectators to tuck in the front of their jerseys to keep them from getting too cold on the long and terrifyingly
fast decent down the other side. The riders approached speeds of nearly 100 km per hour (about 60miles per hour) downhill on a narrow road with many hairpin bends.

About 4km from the finish Spanish rider Luis Sanchez of Spanish team Caisse d'Epargne attacked and got clear out in front. Although he was hotly pursued by the first chase group, which contained almost all of the contenders for the overall lead, they could not catch him and he crossed the line first with a time of 3 hours, 52 min. and 53 sec.

Luxembourger Kim Kirchen, of U.S. team Columbia, retains the overall leader's Yellow Jersey and he is also the current holder of the sprint points competition leader's Green Jersey.

Good Morning Peeps...

I have a story about Pierre the Cajun Fighter Pilot...

'I am Pierre, the Cajun fighter pilot! If I go down, I go down in flames!'
Good one. Mine isn't as good but it is true.
My brother and his friends were picnicking in Switzerland. Being Swiss they were making a nice cheese fondue. One of the ingredients of fondue is the cherry liqueur, kirsch.
Soon everyone was remarking that the fondue was better than usual - more flavorful. Then the person who had brought the kirsch realized that he had actually brought absinthe, the highly alcoholic, anise-flavored spirit which was at that time illegal in Switzerland and hence had been decanted into a kirsch bottle.
Everyone agreed: Absinthe makes the fondue grow heartier.

/me grouches into the thread after a long and confrontational week, realizes it's Friday and cheers up immediately. Hello everybody!! Yay! I get to sleep in, laze around and play for two whole days!! Plus, I'm loving the new job. Life isn't bad at all right now.

Allegria. I don't know anything about the teen grid. I remember being a teenage boy, though, and I would suggest you watch her pretty closely. How old/mature is she? The younger she is, the closer I would watch. Even if there is no overtly sexual stuff on the teen grid, as everyone knows, the ability to IM makes it impossible to remove all sexual content, and makes for a much more intense experience than just stupid poseballs or stripper poles. She could be saying anything to anyone.

Thanks for the feedback... She's a pretty mature going to be 14 in 3 weeks. Although I'm not looking over her shoulder, I can pretty much hear her. She is using the internal mic and external speakers, so all her voice chat is completely audible. I know that doesn't cover IM's, but I think most, if not all, the communicating is voice. If she gets quiet, I'll go check. She already had a MySpace page, so is a bit savvy about internet usage. Wow, the trouble kids can get into these days! I think my hair's going to go gray! Oh wait... been there already. :D

Kaimi, what time is the update today? i don't want to miss it. :D

ok, i've run out of smiley options so my work here is done. *sticks out tongue*
Most days my schedule is this: 5:30 get up, run, do a little housekeeping, shower, then watch tour coverage which usually has started recording about 5:30 am my time. As soon as I've seen the day's stage I come up and report to you - which prolongs the fun for me. I don't turn my computer on before in fear of accidentally learning the results. It's especially nice of you to take an interest in it.

In the New Orleans French Quarter this weekend we have our version of the running of the bulls.

The local Female Roller Derby Team will be chasing men through the streets and whacking them with Plastic Baseball Bats. Last year they used plastic noodles but they felt they weren't effective enough.

I have to send this link to my daughter the former Roller Derby Skater! She'll love the part about the bats!

What is the difference between real diamonds and fake diamonds in SL?
(This is an important question, I don't want to get ripped off.)
Fake ones aren't mined by slave avatars.

My two cents: I wouldn't worry about it too much. But I would mention to her, without belaboring it, that there are things to be careful about. And let her realize (without actually talking about it) that she can't count on you not suddenly knocking and walking in on her.

I AM sweet and innocent! But I've been affected by my environment. My brother told me this story so you can see what he's like. And my husband is worse.

Ah yes the teen grid.
I am up north here for the summer and got my niece on it. Its pretty neat but a pole was there? wow. I need to talk with her.
The one funny thing was she got caged at the sand box :o
I told her to practice building, go hang out with ppl and do what she likes too. Curious to see what becomes of this. I did hook up the laptop to the big screen tv so she really cant hide anything lol I just convinced her how cool it was to be on the tv.

Hahaha - the number of times I have considered chasing guys around and wacking them with some sort of physical object -- I would sooo love this.

Or anyone could be saying all kinds of things to her. I suggest randomly popping into the room - sort of quietly so that she does not hear you coming. And if she thinks the stripper pole is funny - that is a good sign.
