Hi Threadies...

Here's me waving and running back to work.

Maureen, Amara and I are still plannning to share June. Just to let you know for sure. I'm glad we set the timetable forward a little. I was stressing about getting a pic.

Have a good day, all! :)

Sounds like a fabulous hike, in spite of the repercussions...

/sets up the massage table...lights some candles and turns on the relaxing music...

Hobble over here, Trout, we'll fix you right up.

It was a great time despite the price I'm paying now, and a massage would be really nice! Don't forget the thighs. I turned them into jello climbing down off that mountain. At least I still have good knees and ankles. Hiking downhill puts a lot of stress on the joints.

I was in the Cascades. Trail 274 from FS Road 23 to Blue Lake in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, although I cut off at the very end and did the last quarter mile or so on the ORV trail, because there was a good amount of snow on the ground and it was difficult to follow the hiker trail.

Back again. I shall refrain from grumbling about the weather this time, because that last storm was heavy but shortlived, and blessed me with a stunning rainbow at the end of it.

Thanks, Maureen and 3Ring, for the compliments on the pics :)

I know it's correct, but it just seems counterintuitive that climbing uphill/upstairs is easier on one's joints than climbing downhill/downstairs. I mean, we're always more tired hoofing uphill than when we are traipsing downhill.

And not to worry; we'll pay a lot of attention to those aching thighs. :D

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Good morning everyone.
It was an extra exciting day at Le Tour.
Four riders attacked in the first km and stayed away, miraculously, to the end of the flat 208 km course.
Samuel Dumoulin crossed the finish line first. US rider William Frischkorn, a first timer at the tour, on a first time US team, came in second and Romain Feillu (pictured with Dumoulin) came in third. All three had the same time of in 5hours 5min. and 27sec.
Feillu moves into the top spot in the overall standings! Whew!

...

What a beautiful hike. ... Lots of waterfalls, unbelieveable basalt formations, panoramic views from the edge of a cliff, tons of little critters and one disconcertingly large footprint, and a beautiful, frigid alpine lake. What a day.

Ouch. What a day today is, too. Poor me. I'm broken.
Ah nature and exercise! There's nothing better you can do for yourself. (Well other than win the lottery.)
edited to add: When you're my age you ache if you DON'T exercise. Hope you feel better soon.

is there an editorial position that I can apply for?

Going uphill/upstairs is harder on the heart and lungs, going downhill/downstairs is harder on the leg muscles. Hence we huff and puff going up and hurt like hell after lots of down.

There was talk of the Forum Guys writing little blurbs about the Forum Girls for the pics -- no clue if that is still in the works or not.

A thought on the calendar -- is there someone that is really good with creating a collage of sorts from pics to use for the cover? Or have we already come up with another idea for the cover?
