lol - I'm waiting for one phone call, and the second I get it, I'm gone, gone, gone for the day. Unfortunately, I'm in a small enough town that I can't afford to completely burn any bridges here. There were a few other accusations, from people who should definitely have known better, and from whom I am very surprised we have not seen, at least retractions, if not apologies. I sincerely hope that CX is just taking a break to let himself calm down and to let the hurt go away a little. I didn't see Tegg as really accusing anyone. He just said that there had been accusations.

I saw more than one person make accusations, and the one who was evil about it was argued with quite a bit.


I saw him post on SLU, so it's not like he's gone forever.

That's your choice, but I think you're judging us too harshly. I rather thought the person who left should have waited to see what the final outcome would be first...he basically wrote us all off because a couple of people were less than nice. How is that the act of a friend?

3, there were lots of people that stood up and said it was not possible. I also IMd the person in question and apologized for my moment of WTF and asked him to come back to us.

Some may have tried to let it die so that no more suspicion would fall. Also he said he was gone from here so posting apologies in the thread to him would likely never be read by him. They would have just served those who wanted to see the admission.

There was a lot of emotion flowing at the moment of the post. Shenanigans were happening and we may not ever know what happened (and most of us don't want to).

The majority said it was a bogus call. If you read back amidst all the confusion, accusations, emotion, etc etc you will see that.

Gah, we just found out that my MoM is going to have her entire lower spine fused, from L1-S1, sometime in the next year. She already has four vertebrae in her neck done, so she's going to end up losing almost all of her flexibility. Not to mention the whole fun surgery and recovery thing...

Yesterday I was ready to walk away from the thread too. I couldn't believe that such a spurious accusation was bandied about and taken up so quickly by some people who should have known better. I think most of them have since apologized, and as for the original accuser, well, who knows what goes on in some people's minds. I really try to be open-minded and compassionate, but this one is very hard for me to understand.

After some time, I decided to post again, and had resolved not to bring this whole sordid episode up. But 3ring's post made me decide to speak my piece on the matter. We probably will never know who deleted posts at the time in question, or whether it was coincidence. We won't know whether a malicious person engineered the whole episode to make someone look bad.

So unfortunately we're left with the consequences, a really stand-up and honorable person has been hurt and his reputation damaged. Maybe he'll get over it, maybe not. I hope we all remember this the next time we're confronted with a questionable situation, and are tempted to act before thinking.

Of course romantic fantasy is always good but for me I think idea of My shining armor queer is a fantasy that just doesn't translate well in any reality at this point.
Friendships are nice and comfortable most of time.
