Mac:

*hugs*

That took courage to write to us, and you didn't have to do so. I thank YOU for sharing your life and your time with us. Glad you are back; spending time with your family, goofing around with your girls was likely just what the doctor ordered to relax you.

Mac, you ARE the thread. It would not be here without you (well, OK, Rha, it wouldn't have been started without YOU, but you know what I mean :))

As I said yesterday in response to someone's question, I met most of you via this thread. In fact, other than my RL brother and my RL best friend, both of whom spend time in SL, I think I've met most people here, or at the Forum Cartel hangout...which I view as an extension of this Forum.

I find all of you folks to be fascinating, generally good hearted, full of wit and creativity. Frankly, I am in awe of all of you, and often wrestle with what to write, or *if* I should write. So thank you for brightening my days (and nights), and providing me with my daily dose of brain candy. :)

OK, that said: 440 posts to go! (I think)

/me hugs everyone

Hugs to you as well. Sorry you were having a tough time; I wish I knew more about this goldarned SL camera stuff.

Maybe someone reading this could help, since your regular photographer is booked with RL stuff? :)

FD:

I was glad I had a chance to see your shops yesterday, and, more importantly, to stop by and chat with you while you were working. THank you for the invitation. I love that privacy screen I bought at the store, and hand painted flowers are remarkable.

And re: your RL issues: Dang. I am sorry. I keep looking for a magic wand to wave to help, but cannot find one in my inventory. Please know that we are thinking of you and I always look forward to reading your posts!

And I am waaay to late to send out pink flamingos to anyone; by now you've all seen that you have one in your library.

My mom was a pink flamingo fanatic, after taking a trip to Florida, many moons ago. You cannot BELIEVE how many pink flamingo items she had around her house, never mind in the yard:

Frankly, I like 'em. They're pink and happy looking. Some may say kitsch...let them!

(and heh...some of you may know that Joseph built his home to look like the ruins of a cathedral. It's amazing.

Guess what I put in the front yard? :D)

OK - I have to go "sand blast" my house now...houseguests arriving this afternoon, so I won't be around for most of the day.

If you make it to 20,000 in my absence: woo hoo! If not, I look forward to getting back into the 20K race.

Rha, I be your prim ear too, feel to take a emo dump any time on me:) hehe
Sometimes I am cranky not as a good ear as I like to be.
Last year the agency sent a replacement to my long term nurse.
He was really major psycho.
Really scary stuff happen. like showing up on Sunday because he need to use my kitchen, major sexual and physical invasions of my space and on top of being ill, I am trauma survivor so being around people who invade my physical real life space is really difficult for me.
Hard part was when I tried to politely confront the guy he did what lot of the abusers did to me in past, even tried to do it to case manager when I reported him
They wanted me to contact the Police but I was too frighten.

damm FD!

is your RL sig-other around to help watch out for you some? wish i lived closer. i'm a good nurse - and protector!

Hey has anyone had someone who seemed like they really like you then things some how changed it felt awkward and uncomfortable?
What did you do?

yes. don't take things so personal. most likely it's not as you are imagining. talk about it. see where that leads. best to know the realities of a relationship right away. *hugs*

What are people's predictions for how many posts this thread reaches before it starts to falter and die? I'm assuming that it's not locked or deleted but just runs and runs until it can run no more.

My prediction is that it will stop growing at around the 35,000 mark.

since this has become the only GD outlet here, i think it will run well beyond that.

or

a new one will begin. but i think NOW we will always have one, somewhere.

What's the betting that one of the prolific posters on this thread decides to delete all their posts just for spoil-sport type fun:D . Would that affect the stats and NO, I'm not going to do that! If someone deleted all their posts from this thread, would that count as griefing?:D  :o

Look guys, I wanted to peek back in and just say something.

I have a ton of RL stuff going on right now that is beyond stressful. Much involving my Father (health and a legal issue that goes to trial soon) and some involving my health. I have been on the edge of running down the street yelling at the top of my lungs for awhile now. The forum has been my saving grace. This thread has been the majority of that saving grace. It is fun to watch it go to X amounts of posts but to me that is only a small portion of what it is.

It is not about a duty to check in.. it is a place to be that I enjoy. This thread is so far beyond the original post that it is a life all it's own and it belongs to every person who puts something in it. It will live as long as it does. No need to call for it to be done at X posts or when there is a funk going on in it. There are too many people in here with too much investment to call for it's end until the last person posts and there are no others there to respond.

Anyway.. you all saw my first ever forum meltdown. That thread was irksome but more then anything it became a vent for me. That let of some steam and after going away, taking a small nap and watching some TV with the kids I wish I hadn't done it hehe. I never use the F word on forums, in world or even in life. But it felt great using it there for the release factor. :D

I am sorry to anyone I offended, upset, etc. I shall keep a bottle of Xanax by the ready next time I feel like exploding. The person who made me the maddest is not even a regular, but a friend from past forums and briefly in world. She knows who she is.

Anyway I wrote out this long post telling you all details of my life and reasons for my stress but deleted it. Deleted because I didn't want a troll to use it later. But know that I trust you guys and esteem you enough that I did have the intention. I just don't want it to be a basis for an argument later. What I exploded at today will be used on me later. Trolls do that, and I am ready to laugh and turn away when it happens.

So, I may be slowing down some.. may still take that break or may pretend it never happened and move on. Not deciding tonight but any posting I do here will be in this thread only for tonight. Like Allegra said, I am gonna sit down by her on that couch and just hang with friends. But thanks for being here to put some fun and joy into what is not the best time in my life by a long shot.

OK, let's see if I can push submit without deleting another post..
Really big wam long hug to you Mac.

I had my own meltdown of a sort a couple of months back. RL stress in and of itself can do that to us. Toss in the complexities of SL dynamics and Forum posts and I am sometimes surprised that more of us don't go off more often.

Smiles and understanding from this end.
:)

I lived in Florida (Fort Lauderdale) for 3 years. I had them in my yard too. It's almost a prerequisite for living there :D

I have been dealing with long term illness myself and literally lost numerous friends and relationships in my first life so I know what you're going through Macphisto.
Hardest thing is I got no family and I often feel lot of shame because I am not out doing normal work or haven't been able too.
I really hate when people ask me about what type of job I have in real life because I am embarrassed.
My nurses are going away on vacation for few weeks and I am not looking forward to being alone.
I don't know if there will be replacement the last was absolutely frightening.
*hugs* FD

Never be ashamed - there is no reason to.

I am having the strangest problem with my avatar lately. The legs--upper thigh inside area look very strange. Like folded kind of. This just started a couple of days ago.I have done nothing different, same skin same shape... From some angles it looks like I'm missing a whole chunk of my inner thigh! WTH could it be? It's driving me nuts. I'd post a pic but then I'd have to show everyone my assets.:o I tried putting on an older version of the skin and shape,nothing..(I save daily outfits frequently,so I have tons of copies of each..) Help I deformed!!!! /me cries
