Why not? Texture makers do that all the time for people - it just costs way more than for personal use is all. The deal you strike is going to be somewhat negotiable most likely.

After all some sculpty maker is selling shoe sculpt maps on SLX, there are sculpt maps for a few other things too such as stairs, skirts, etc...

Why should this be any different? Just expect to pay a fair bit.

that is what I mean, if they said yes , they would do it so they could also sell to other folks, and in a situation like that I would not expect to pay more than what they would charge others

strange though, with all the sculpt maps being sold, toes just are not there (and looking at the toes on these shoes it can't be that hard)

I just might take the time and learn to make them myself LOL (just do not want to pay for another program to make stuff)

Not necessarily if you commissioned them to provide you with a copy that would not go to others - like a one off piece of art. Some artists (sculpty or otherwise) will do this and some won't - most likely you would pay a heck of a premium for doing it but I would not be detered from putting out feelers etc. Could not hurt to find out. Especially if it is easy then artist may figure its an easy way to make some money. May not know anything about the shoe business or have a desire to do general resell items.

Of course like you also say you could try learning how to do it yourself but that takes time and I sense you would rather not if possible.

SculptyPaint is a free sculpty making program and you can also make sculpties with Wings3D (free) and a free plugin.

not the time, I have plenty of time, it is the lack of tools, and thank you for the names of a couple that might help, I will check them out

money is an issue, I can not afford to pay what I suspect someone would charge (being decent sculpt maps for shoes cost at least 3000 or more)

/FD sends hello hugs to those who want them.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Did I miss much sense I was away?
Amaranthim is those the shoes you showed me?
They did look great I am curious how they turned out.
I finally made something clothing wise I feel is pretty good even though I am not happy about the pockets and front flap.
One friend says I should sell it for at least 100L, others says some where between the 200 to 500 L range.
It's a pair of brown tweed looking pants & matching shirt. I don't have image yet up on the web.
I don't want to charge too much, though of doing it less then 100L.
It was made for Men but it also looks good on Women.
I am going to sell it as Mod, transfer.
If anyone has time and wants to check out the new outfit and give me some advise contact me in world sometime tonight.
I am going to go do some deviant activities, maybe another nap possibly:) but should be back online for sure in another five hours.

Hi Rhaorth I just tried SculptyPaint to do this - i think you will have to do each toe individually but I got a basic toe shape working - it does not seem that hard actually.

*waves to FD* Hiya, welcome back :)

EDIT: Actually Rhaorth it looks more like a penis after all *sighs* goes back to Deviant thread and cross-references with Brenda's Willies quote.

update tried sculpty paint, and I think I have managed to make a useable toe shape, now to work with it in world, and figure out a script for the tinting and such.... whew, not an easy task (any scripters out there willing to help a poor lost soul, I can't pay much, but would be forever grateful)

IM or PM me if you wish to assist so I can describe what I need (or what I think I need heh)

What I would recommend Rhaorth is a seperate prim for the toe nail, then you don't have to have different textures for the different colors - just change the color with a script.

i will try blender tomorrow to see if i can make more than one curve at a time, and make toes. it's a hard program to learn, but i can make really simple things, like pillows. LOL

might hunt down that sculptypaint and give it a whirl too, but not really just for toes. i need something easier than blender. ugh.

I read it while waking up. Priceless.

Although the funniest part was Oscar rising from his dustbin to fuel his obsession with forum posters.

Best thread next to this one ever.

If we didn't already have this thread I would totally be pushing to keep that thing alive instead. :D
