Q: Am I the only one who thinks cell phones are a blessing AND a curse?

Its nice that I can be reached at any time or reach out to others, but some folks go WAAAAAY overboard with that.

I love/hate Cell Phones.

Nothing worse than being behind someone on the highway who's swerving all over as they're busy talking on THE DAMN PHONE!!!!!!!

Or the folks at any store who wont hang up while at the register. Um, excuse me. The cashier would like to do her job. I'm sure your conversation can wait. Or the Idiots in the bathroom. I've done it too, but I really dont want to hear the noises as we converse. OR- the folks with "hands free" headsets? How many times has someone near you said "Hey, how's it going?" and just as you're about to answer, you realize they're on the phone?

FYI- those headsets REEEEALLY look dumb. They need to redesign those so you dont look like Lt. Uhura from Star Trek.

My thoughts- if your life is THAT important, STAY HOME!!! If its 3 AM dont call my frickin' cell phone!!! If I'm at work, and personal calls are not permitted, DONT CALL MY CELL PHONE!!

Anymore, if I give you my Cell Phone Number, odds are I wont be talking to you. Call the Land Line & I'll be talking to you. Besides, its cheaper. $20/month Land Line vs. $60/month Cell Phone. No contracts on the land line either. :p

*whew* Ok, did my part to keep the thread going :)

i have a cell, but i only turn it on when i am travelling, and only usually when it is myself that is calling out. pretty useless actually. LOL

I got my cellphone for emergencies only because I ended up with a flat tire on the interstate late one night and had a hard time getting the spare put on - started thinking about what I would have done if it had been something under the hood gone wrong. Very few people have my cell number - probably less than a dozen. My cell normally lives in my purse and I usually can't hear it anyway.

I have lived many years without being in constant voice communication with people, so I figure I can continue to survive it.

Do not, however, take away my internet service or I start experiencing the DTs.
:D

I'm with you, I hate people on cell phones everywhere... I have one, but work pays, so it's no big deal to carry it. Very few friends have the number, so if it rings, it's almost guaranteed to be work..

I hate it when customers come into my office and won't stop talking on the phone. I try to interrupt them as much as possible.

To this day I don't own a cellphone. I had one very briefly a few years back but decided when I was out and about I didn't want to be reached. The damn thing just meant I would be sure to run by the store for *one* item anytime I was anywhere with the car. :p

Haha, I used to do that too, always with a smile. How feking rude can you be to talk on your phone while people are trying to help YOU.
