ok people's. the time has come. i need to get serious. i HAVE TO find some summertime work.

i have some options, but most involve physical outdoor labor, of which i am trying to avoid because my allergies are evil. but i am not totally against it, as it would simply replace my current exercise regime.

but if possible, i think it'd be interesting to try something "from home", although i'm not quite certain what tha twould be. if you have an idea that is sound, i would love to hear it.

Kind of tough to answer this one without knowing what sorts of skills you have.

Generally, avoid those "Work From Home - Make $10,000 Per Week With Only 10 Hours of Work!!!!!111!!11!111" offers. If it came in spam email or other wise smells like a scam, that's because it IS a scam.

Can you type quickly and accurately? Look locally for a transcription company and do medical or legal transcription. I think you can do that from home. Good with numbers? Why not see if you can get work from a bookeeper - it would help if you can do payroll and taxes.

Hey! That's my line! I should steal it and put it in my signature. :)

So there are now two people who quote me in their signature (the other on SLU) and both quotes have to do with my breasts. Not sure if I should be embarrassed or proud. I'm just thankful it isn't about my vajayjay.

Some companies are using people working out of their home for their Customer Service reps - as well as Catalog order takers.

Apply for LL.

A couple of positions can be done from home I believe (In world representative or something like that) plus you get to be a Linden! (Is that a plus? I think so...but iono)

ETA::
In-World Specialist is what they call the one I'm referencing in particular.

It's too bad outdoor work would be a problem. I'd love to work somewhere on the wharf for the summer, even if it was selling hotdogs, or ice cream.

yes yes 8 years of Quickbooks experience and office admin, although i now officially work with handicapped children.

i saw elance.com and odesk.com, but it's a joke trying to get something. if you are not a paying member, you only get a couple of chances to bid on jobs, per month. so already, those went bust.

so, i am delving in to those arenas, but so far no luck.

i checked in to that too, but believe it or not, i HATE to shop. but more importantly, i live in an isolated area, and the drive in to the city to take the jobs would actually cost me money after i considered the gas costs. good idea tho, besides.

In was actually my son that mentioned this while he was in a job search many months ago. However, a quick google gave me this article that might be helpful:

I love when Rob or 3Ring come back. Honestly.. not being a smart aleck here. It is like getting a best of review of the posts for the last few pages. :)
That's a habit I picked up from another message board. Whenever someone was gone for a while they would take a ride in the "Wayback Machine" to see what they missed. People would respond to questions from several days earlier and we would always have many overlapping conversations. Somebody once described it as a chatroom on TiVo.

I applied, but nothing back yet =P

But I do believe it's a paying position... dunno what exactly you'd do (PR?) but hey, who cares, you're playing SL and getting paid for it, basically XD

Ray: the story was OK, but you get major points deducted for combining the first name "Ricardo" with ANY surname beginnign with "Mc____"

Fine contribution, though. Thanks.

The Wayback machine originally referred to a fictional machine from a segment of the cartoon The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show used to transport Mr. Peabody and Sherman back in time. The term "Wayback Machine" has been enthusiastically adopted by popular culture as mechanism to suggest transporting one's thoughts back to a historical time and place.

I'm not posting my RL picture here. I posted it on that other message board. Somebody Photoshopped my face onto this picture:
