Hey folks!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I just got back to the flat after having a great few days with the family. I was pleasantly suprised - No arguments this year Anyway, I just spotted that the one present I got given while here but forgot to take home with me and left under the tree here, has been unwrapped, opened, half eaten and closed up again. I think I need a talk with one of my flatmates....  _____________________

The daughter child wanted some sort of chocolate pudding pie for Christmas dinner, so we found a recipe that sounded good and we made that. It ended up tasting sort of like the chocolate french silk pie at Perkins, only much much better. It ended up being the hit of the dinner. However, since we were all totally stuffed from the meal itself, we ate only tiny pieces of the pie last night. So guess what my breakfast is.  ohhhhhhh...pie for breakfast....mmmmmmm I actually try to avoid stores from Thanksgiving until about a week or two after the new year, though I usually have to force myself into one or two stores during that time just to get some gift that I couldn't find online. I absolutely refuse though, to enter any store on the day after Thanksgiving or the day after Christmas. I did receive a nice "additional 15% off absolutely everything" coupon for Kohls that is also good for online shopping today thru Monday, so I will check the online sales. lol, same here. I try to avoid being anywhere near a mall during that same time period. I do most of my shopping online. |

@Lil: I hope you don't feel too badly about that shovel incident. He should have seen it coming. God, I am so exhausted! I don't know what it is. I slept like a rock last night. I would be resting today, but I promised Six I'd take her and her friend to see the Squeakquel (the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie). I wish I could sleep through it, but I'll probably end up laughing and liking it. I actually had fun helping my mother cook. I think she was so nervous about trying a new and somewhat complicated dish that she appreciated having me there. We ate at midday, and we had so much fun talking they almost ended up staying for dinner. *smiles* I love your family stories.  And that "Rosa di Parma" sounds delicious. I was up at 530am this morning after making Christmas dinner for 10 last night (which is actually quite small for me normally but I'll be doing it again in a few days for a big family thing) I made turkey and a salmon crab wellington as the mains. It was good but I'm more excited about the big dinner we'll have later in the week. There was a sale at Best Buy today for some Bose speakers I wanted so I decided to go and the doors opened at 6am. OMG lined up in the freezing rain for an hour. Thankfully I had a good chat with some funny girls in line to pass the time away and now I have ::thump:: ::thump:: bass to listen to my tuneage. I just came across some deals mainly for the ladies. A shop is giving away all their stuff as a gift to the community .. mainly girls hair which looked pretty nice .. a few ugly boys hair and also a few skins. The next lm is for mainly girls shoes and a whole bunch of unisex sneakers. I was most excited and wet myself about the free sculpts at the last lm but then realized they weren't full perm but they are still free for personal use. @Claire - I think one of the worst things about going off to college is discovering that not everyone has been raised with proper manners and respect for others and their possessions. Opening and partially eating something that is not theirs is not only major disrespect, but putting it back half-eaten is totally rude and tacky. *hugs* sweetie - at least your Christmas at home was a good one. _____________________

I made some of those last week, but I've still yet to try some properly gooey ones. I don't think I'd be quite so annoyed if it had just been a bar of chocolate or somethign out of my cupboard. This was quite obviously a christmas present, wrapped, with a name tag on it. He's never taken anything of mine before, but I got back and it was lying exactly where I'd left it, unwrapped and half of the chocs gone - he's been the only one here. Oh well...I guess I wont leave anything around from now on._____________________

wow! big place. Eerily empty though, that would creep me out a bit. Cute Jumper It IS a big place. And it's awfully strange seeing it deserted: it's normally teeming. Here's a pic of the RL place, taken from probably pretty much exactly where my avi is standing (although, I think, in summer). I've stood on this corner, or near it, more times than I can count in RL.  TY for the compliment on the jumper. It was a Xmas present! _____________________

Yeah, the reconstruction in SL is pretty astonishingly accurate, including the streetcars trundling back and forth along Dundas St. It's actually a pretty cool space in some ways (in RL, I mean). It's by no stretch my favourite place in Toronto, but the sheer diversity of people makes it fascinating. It's sort of a combination Times Square, Hyde Park Corner, and mad house. _____________________

Hello threadies! Haven't been around the forums much - we've spent time actually inworld *shock* building *double shock*!!!!
But wanted to wish you all many happy holidays. (Yes, we sent the Cartel a card, but wanted to catch non-Cartel folks or those who haven't had time to rez them all). Here's a little animatronic gingerbread house that we had fun putting together, it's about as high as a small tiny, and parts of it move when the chimney puffs smoke:  Making toys is a surprisingly fun way to build up to Christmas.
