Santa update:

He's currently in New Brunswick and heading to Puerto Rico

This is a cute "live" Santa webcam with a running list of presents delivered and requests from kids. http://www.marketmallsantatracker.com/

I'm off to bed before he comes down my non-existent chimney. Merry ho ho!

Well, according to my husband, I have managed to make this Christmas completely unforgettable........... though not necessarily in a good way.

I was out back shoveling the deck. He came out to help me. I was scooping and tossing over my right shoulder. He decided to start a little to close to the area I was working in. Just as I tossed, he stood up from being somewhat stooped over and turned towards me.

The result was shovel edge (very very sharp edge) connected with his face, just above the cheekbone, about an inch below the eye. He screamed and fell to the snow, covering his face with his hand. My heart almost stopped because at this point I honestly thought I had hit his eye with the corner of the shovel. It took a minute or so to get him inside and to let me look. Then I ran for the butterfly bandages, while he cussed and tried really hard not to scream loud enough to be heard a mile away. After applying 2 butterfly bandages and noticing how much it was still bleeding, we decided we had better head to the doctor to see about stitches.

The result was 5 stitches for a cut that was roughly 1.5 inches. Luckily it was a pretty clean cut, so there should be minimal or no scarring after it heals up. Unfortunately for him, it was a snow shovel that lives in the garage and the doctor could not find records that he had had a tetanus shot in the last 10 yrs, so he got to get one of those after the stitching was done.

The doctor did say that I did very good with the butterfly bandages and that helped make it easier to stitch it cleanly.

I feel horrid though and he will never let me live this one down.
:o
 Oh no! You poor thing! Not to mention your poor hubby. And I guess it kind of interrupted the snow shoveling too. Hope you're both laughing at it by now. (Maybe it would help if he shred the Vicodin with you.)

I've been having an exceptionally nice day. First husband, son-in-law, pregnant daughter and I all went to see Avatar. It was totally awesome. Then when we got home one of our friends jumped up from behind the gate and yelled, "Surprise!" She played volley ball with Daughter back in college and lived with us for awhile and she had just ridden the train down from Washington (state). It was one of the best Christmas surprises ever. Then a little while later we went over to my husband's brother's house for a party with about thirty people, almost all family, ages 1-90. Tomorrow Daughter is going to make breakfast. (Did I mention she's pregnant?) Then later another daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids are coming over for some of my husband's Indian cooking. This is an especially super excellent Christmas for me.

My thanks to all of you for all the friendship I feel in our little thread here. I wish you all blessings, prosperity, joy, and peace.

@Maureen - lovely house! It really looks nice!

@Josh - nice cards!

So... I got home from work and Six wanted to play cards, but not the usual stuff we play, like Gin, or Spit, or Crazy Eights, or Fish...

I googled and found this game called Golf, which is very fun!

http://www.pagat.com/draw/golf.html

You have four cards, face down, and you get a glance at two. You can replace cards until you think you have a lower score than the other player.

Nifty! I think I'll give it a try later on today! :)

Just in case anyone doesn't know about this .. NORAD runs a great site for the little munchkins to see where Santa is currently located and his trip around the world. I just hope they don't accidentally fire a heat seeking missile at Rudolph by mistake http://www.noradsanta.org/en/index.html

lol, I've always enjoyed checking that site. :) He really does get around, doesn't he? :p

OMG!!! You two must have been so scared. *hugs*

Thank heavens he's OK...and that you were so quick-thinking to fix him up before heading off to the doc's office.

*hugs you again*

Glad he's got the pain killers to soothe him, too. :)

OMG, the same thing happened to me when I was a kid... hit the neighbor boy on the forehead and he had to get stitches. I felt really bad... I think they probably didn't let me play over there anymore after that... :o

When my sister was...3 or 4, the next door neighbor boy accidentally thwacked a golf club into her face - barely missing her eye. She was so lucky....so lucky.

Dozing on the couch. He has been up off and on all night tending to the turkeys on the smoker. Due to that, he had to take minimal amounts of pain meds. So between the turkeys and the soreness, he has only been dozing in 30-45 min increments since about 9:00 pm last night. His attitude is pretty good though. He is one of those folks that almost always has a grin on his face or is chuckling at something. Well, right now, laughing apparently hurts like hell cuz of the way it scrunches up your cheek muscles and skin.

This will go down in your family history as the Christmas Lil's shovel got away from her......

For those who enjoy free stuff...

There's a free box of goodies at -RC-Cluster. a snow hud, a patch of sculpy snow, and a snow shovel. I think that one is only today

There is a gift box at Livingtree, in the middle of the sim near the big tree. Sweater, long johns, and other goodies. That should be out 'til Orthodox Christmas.

And before you say anything.... I dont care if a woman is 90lbs or 300lbs.... if she's attractive to me thats all that matters.

We've been chatting & cam-ing with each other. Might get together for New Years.

I is happy. :)
