A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?' The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a Forum Thread all about Second Life. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a inworld coffee house. We sneaked into a secluded skybox, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: "You Got Male"

awww... very cute, Treasure!
Hey, I mentioned that Six has a snow day today... so my mother dropped her off to have lunch with me (while Mom went to the gym).
It was a pretty quiet lunch. We played cards a bit. We were both tired and slow. And it was cold, so we ate a fair amount, and we were walking slowly after we left.
Well! We were passing in front of a subway station when a guy came flying out, and cut in front of Six. There was no good reason to do that, but he very rudely cut her off.
/me laughs
And then he connected with Six's foot. She was just walking, and very slowly, but her left foot was forward, and the rude guy in a hurry tripped.
He didn't fall down, but he went stumbling and couldn't stop. His arms were waving and he was going, "Oh uh oh uh oh!"
His heavy backpack didn't help him get his equilibrium back either.
He almost crashed into a newspaper stand, so everyone was staring at him as he ran off.
"I didn't do anything!" Six said, and I laughed like an idiot.

Just wanted to say thank you to the organizers for a wonderful party! Also thanks to Lil & Feline & Soji for your pics! Each of you got some great shots ... I got a few too, next time I'm home I'll look them over and post if I have anything different to share. I know Cee had a wonderful time being Santa, too! The white fur around his face in that outfit makes him look almost saintly, don't you think? But we know that's just an illusion. (That's Lil on his lap)

Happy Monday, thread-folks! A little late with the weekend wrap up thingy this week. Been a busy-ish weekend, as one can imagine! I was all over a bit, with cramming in the last of the Down The Chimney Hunt, hosting a little movie thing in the Winterfest sims, attending the Tonight Live with Paisley Bebee taping (Redd Columbia and Hamlet Au on the same show - cool!), and jes a lot of running around. One thing I did get done this weekend was a holiday portrait of me an my sibs. We actually did a couple, jes to see how it'd look: Here's the more informal one: and here's the "Sears portrait studio" version Oh, and here's one other thing: Abranimations has been giving away some seriously fun stuff in their advent calendar. Friday was their giant hamster balls, which meant me and my brother terrorized the vehicle sims, and me an my sis did the same through the Gulf of Lauren. This is the sorta fun that only happens in SL, methinks! Have a super solstice all, and all sorts of happy days this week!

From: Pserendipity Daniels Absolutely, Kaimi.
Pep (And only within that domain; and exercising power in that way can be a double edged sword; it is unlikely to attract newcomers - that are not masochists or feel they can manipulate the system, of course.) I was going to say, "which are you?" until I realized that of course they aren't mutually exclusive... So which am I? not a masochist that's for sure. I like to think I'm pretty good at if not manipulating at least working around such systems. And leaving without a care if it starts to go wrong.

From: Seven Okelli ... Six has a snow day today (no school). Whoot! We never got snow days when I was a kid. Even when we could plainly see snow on the mountains, not 50 miles away. Good morning, Seven, and everyone (it's still not quite 11:30 here).

Thans, Lil. Great pictures everyone. And don't all of look lovely and festive? I'm sorry I didn't get to the party soon enough to see everyone in person, but those who were there while I was were wonderful.

From: Maureen Boccaccio ... Gasp! Does this mean I'm going to have to learn how to build??? I agree with 3, it might be fun. I'd generally rather have amateurish things that I made myself than better stuff made by other people.

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft ... There is a lasting sense of satisfaction knowing that you actually made something, even if it is a piece of crap (/me looks at his Christmas tree avatar ). I love teaching people how to make stuff so you have an open offer from me as well. There are also a ton of free classes and resources on the grid to help you and will walk you through the process in easy steps. Start off with a small project and you'll get addicted!! This is a great offer, Mo. Josh, that Christmas tree was entirely professional looking, wonderful and excellent in every way.

Mo, I saw a lovely Greek style build over the weekend: The above is called "Santorini" and is a kind of mini city, it was a custom build. However, I visited the shop of the creator, Bora Rossini, and he said he would be happy to consider making a single-home version of "Santorini" or a custom build. He also has one called "Palazzo Rossini" (L1299, C/M): The Palazzo is a bit dark, but since it's C/M you could texture it with lighter colors.

See the tiny people standing on the balcony in the center? Anyway, I thought it was fab because I haven't seen any other Greek village type builds in SL. As for prims, and space... the builder is considering making a residence in this style, so now would be a great time to wander over there and let him know if you would be interested, and what features you would be looking for, such as a large open central courtyard, or a windowed atrium, or...

From: Seven Okelli Yeah, building is a lot of fun. It's so much fun that it's even worth running off and hiding so you can do it.
At the same time, it's so great to get help from other people, because there are so many amazing things you do, and shortcuts, and ways of saving prims, but the only way you find out is that you ask someone for help and they say, oh, there's an easier way...
For a few months I was building with a friend, and that was a ball too. If you find the right building partner everything goes so quickly.
And then, choosing textures! One more thing on this subject from me: Ivory Tower of Prims.

/me heads off for Abranimations, muttering and drooling They're SERIOUS fun. Usual vehicle controls, with page down "righting" the ball in case of trouble, and page up tossing you upward a bit. One of the more fun vehicles ever!

That didn't come across when I saved it, which is probably a good thing, was kinda creepy.
