I make a version of fries that I cut into thick wedges. After cooking, immediately season with a fajita rub. Serve with an avocado cilantro sauce - equal parts of avocado, fresh cilantro and sour cream pureed in a blender. Dip the fries in the sauce and moan with delight
![]() -- you might want to cut back on the cilantro if you want to taste the avocado tho. As I make it the avocado and sour cream are just to help smooth and accent the cilantro. |

I'm thinking a special outfit to wear while exploring the grid might be a good idea. One option might be the stereotypical tourist. Along the lines of camera around the neck, loud hawaiian shirt, baggy short pants, white sneakers and black socks. Although I'm not sure I can bring myself to wear black socks with short pants, even in SL. ![]() So, I'm looking for ideas. What else does the "goofy tourist guy" outfit need to make it complete? I once met a guy who was wearing flipflops, white cutoffs, and sunglasses - nothing else. Since it was a rather formal RP sim, he was startlingly inappropriate - threw everyone completely off. He looked as though he'd just parked his yacht and walked up from the water. The great thing about him was that he seemed completely unaware of everyone's consternation. He walked up with complete aplomb and started talking to me. Everyone was just blinking and trying to not laugh. Might work for you? Is that what you're looking for? . _____________________

On the subject of french fries, I will insist that the best kind are fried in peanut oil - not corn or vegetable or "canola" oil. Peanut oil is the best...It can take the high heat necessary without breaking down. _____________________

Cilantro is one of those things you either hate or love- I am firmly in the I Love camp! Ramen noodles with chili paste and cilantro - yum!

Oh I love cilantro as well but you're so right that it tends to be a love hate thing. I particularly like it with Vietnamese pho. I'm pretty lucky to have access to all sorts of restaurants in my town and real Japanese ramen noodles are such a treat vs that nasty packaged msg stuff for 99cents. _____________________

That is the sort of thing I had in mind. When out exploring, hopping from sim to sim, you never know what to wear. Showing up at a Ninja RP sim wearing cowboy boots and hat looks a little odd. ![]() So, my thinking is why risk looking a little out of place when you can just go totally over the top. ![]() Thanks for all the suggestions folks. A goofy hat and sunscreen on the nose are just perfect. Has anyone seen a animated camera anywhere? One that would work for a tourist snapping pics of everything. Maybe one with a flash, but that might be a bit too annoying. _____________________

Eeeeewwwwwww - you pour white gravy over cauliflower. Cheese sauce or hollandaise is much much better. ![]() Pep (I like mixing mustard into it too - hot yellow English mustard, not that sweet brown stuff you seem to prefer over there.) _____________________

But why? While I do not run around the grid looking for people breaking the rules, I do not see a problem with reporting it when seen, especially if it appears to be having a direct negative impact on things. I see that as no different than the RL attitude of "I do not want to get involved" or "I want to try and always be nice to everyone even if they are breaking the rules and making life miserable for a bunch of other people". Pep - if the question has not been posted yet, I will do so. _____________________

Yes! The fanny pack will definitely make this outfit. That does sound yummy - with more OR less cilantro. I agree. When butter won't do peanut oil or olive oil is the thing. If I'm doing a shallow fry or something and want the flavour of butter, I'll combine it with olive oil to raise the smoking point. You can also use clarified butter or ghee. I'm hungry now with all the food talk in this thread. _____________________

... and psychedelic drugs? i forget i need a translator sometimes, even Rhonda didn't "get" it. called it creepy or spooky or something. well at least she didn't say "interesting" like usual. i found a beautiful fall camp site in front of a store in the Twisted Hunt and liked the image through the flickering flames. Mistress likes jackets and is ready for fall to get here so i thought it would be nice. Outtake: ![]() |

I never use butter for frying or sauteeing...always EVOO or peanut oil, except when I make popcorn. I use corn oil for that, and drown that in butter. _____________________

Fanny-packs and tourists make me think of the CSI episode "Fanny Smacking." yes i am sick and twisted.
I also should check in on my alt once in a while. She had an invite to the opening of the Modavia Fashion Show today and I didn't know it until just now. {pout} |

You need one of those floppy brimed hats. I am not sure what they are called but I always heard of them as bush hats, thi that is probably the viet nam era slang for the military issue ones. Be sure to get one with a flowery print that does not match your shirt ![]() [eta] if I had looked at the last page I would have seen that Malia had already mentioned the hat ![]() ![]() |
