Does it still count as double post if it is almost an hour later? heh Visited Zindra using the latest Emerald Viewer (this uses Torley's Fairytale Glow windlight setting) (this uses Torley's 2012 windlight setting) (rather neat Japanese place, neat looking I mean; would not otherwise like to be there, though - involves a fetish that causes me an ick, fleeing desire)

From: Kaimi Kyomoon While you were in the Southwest would it have been so out of your way to swing by San Diego? that would have tacked on even more hours to an already exhausting an evil commute. =/ if i find myself drawn to Disneyland during the Halloween festivities, i will surely contact you and make the trek then.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Last time I visited Phoenix it was great. Limo with a/c and ice bar from the airport to the golf club. Lush grass fairways and short rough with no annoying sandtraps, trees or water hazards - and beer bins every three holes or so. Steakhouse in the evening (I always ask my hosts to eat American - what is the point of pretending that the American version of European food is any good?) and a deep sleep in a big five star hotel bed before a brief business meeting in the morning and return to LA.
Pep (Loves doing business with Americans) i want what you're drinking! they have a new golf resort there, with a casino even, but honestly, it was very confusing. lovely greens, surrounded by hideous scruffy desert. if you lost your ball in the ruff you'd be in grave danger of being attacked by a rattlesnake, no doubt. Phoenix was an odd place.

Phoenix was an odd place. Well, we do have certain rules that are valuable to people not familiar with the desert. Such as: Do not worrying too much about losing a golf ball in the rough. (enter at your own risk) If you step outside at night and hear the sprinkler that you do not remember turning on. DO NOT reach over to turn it off. If you go on a even a 15 minute hike, take a lot of extra water. It is very easy to get lost. Everything in the desert, plant or animal, has a vicious bite or sting. Pusch Ridge, Santa Catalina mountains.

From: Damien1 Thorne I don't like Phoenix either, even Tucson is getting way to big. Which is why I no longer live in the city. When I'm in Vegas, I usually drive to Glendale for an overnighter to visit my favorite Uncle. I agree that the urban sprawl pretty much makes it look like Long Island with sand. But I love the ride. The desert is a magical place. It is stark and forbidding yes, but there is also a serenity that passes over you when you are out there. I'm seriously am considering moving to Nevada one day, I love it there.

Pep (I don't think a toy boy would be interested in you really, would they.) PS The older the caddy, the better; especially since a buggy is de rigueur.

After lunch and a couple of cocktails, and a little souvenir shopping, the next event was the First Time Ever Together and In Character appearance of Gowron and Martok, aka Robert O'Reilly and JG Hertzler. These have always been two of my favorite characters, Martok was an honorable warrior without peer, and Gowron was the typical politician who knew who to get inbed with and when.
They came out scuffling with canes all stooped over, exhorting the audience to rejuvenate them with Klingon War Cries. Once that happened, things went someplae I never expected.....they became Abbott and Costello! It was Interstellar Slapstick the rest of the way, Robin Williams in in Space. Every so often they would lapse back into "serious" mode, usually when a bit flopped, but they were a riot. O'Reilly was especially goofy, he kept referencing the TNG episode whre Data was trying to understand comedy.
There were also two Q and A's with Richard Arnold, who was a good friend and Assistant to Gene Roddenberry. I missed some of it unfortunately, but what I caught was very interesting. He gave some great insight into Roddenberry's philosophies, and on how the path Star Trek took after his death was somewhat controversial. He also touched on the DS9/B5, "Who ripped off who" discussion, as well as the general thoughts on "Voyager" or as he called it "Star Trek meets Gilligan's Island".
All in all it was a fabulous weekend. Since I didn't go on Friday I missed Marc Alaimo and Jeffrey Coombs. I also passed on the optional Saturday Night Dessert Party, with Billingsley and Trinneer. I met someone who went and they did say it was worth the extra cost. Both actors sat at each table chatting for awhile, and when they had finished, Billingsley shouted..:"I'm off the clock, let's party", and stayed until they kicked everyone out of the room.
So, I do plan on going to Vegas next year, and will dress for it, and will look to volunteer when it comes back here next year.
Connolly Out.
