If I may ask a question here without derailing this thread, I ran across a noob that is still wearing default skin and hair. He has just missed out on the 30 day stuff from places like Free Dove. Is there a place that would have free or very low cost men's hair and skins that I could send him to? Thx

Tania

The blog Savoir Hair has a place inworld which has 0L or 1L hair from lots of different hair makers...

290 artists on the wiki now. It looks "off" at the moment, though, as I need to redo the numbering. The spreadsheet is at home though.

I have a lot more to add, I know. A lot of people on SLMC I could add. It isn't set up as a list, so I haven't gone through it yet to pick off names.

If he's really bummed about this, ask him if he's happy with his name. If he doesn't like it, or is indifferent, now's the time to make an alt and start fresh, before he invests time and money in this one.

Doesn't the Cartel Hangout have a newbie kit on the freebie shelves?

Also, HoneyBear (who posts in this thread) runs a freebie blog. http://virtualfreebiesblog.com

And finally, Fabulously Free blog: http://fabfree.wordpress.com/

Those are all great starting spots. :)

ETA: Oh! And browsing the freebies posted on xstreetsl couldn't hurt either. :)

ETA2: And I almost forgot about Sarah Nerd's Freebie Paradise. It's a great spot to pick up some decent freebies.

I am not sure he knows how bad that default stuff looks, he is male afterall. :p

Anyway, I used the link that Amaranthim posted for hair and found a free skin on xstreetsl, put it in a box and sent it. So now I have a care package for noob guys. :) And I have the blogs and lm's to give people too.

Thank you everyone for your assistance.

I take back all my helpful advice. :P

by the way, I've seen two care packages in world. "Jack in a Box" and "Jill in a Box" that isn't too bad for a raw new person. I'll see if I can track them down again. They're a good way to get someone off on the right foot.

Search for "free style" -- where ever they are now located, they used to carry those.

It works out better if you wait for Pep to come back before posting lolcats. Just saying.
