Lindal's on the market?
SWEETNESS!!

I mean, so sorry to hear that. :o

FWIW, in the life of Yosef ....
I seem to have survived the first two waves of layoffs and don't expect any more in my department. There is only one person between me and the CIO until restructuring is done and I am at the bottom of the food chain. I am feeling a bit vulnerable because there I have no supervisor, but it has been announced that we are at our targeted staffing levels. This is good. You know the old story about two guys out hunting when they find a bear? You don't have to out run the bear, just out run the other guy. Well, all the other guys are gone now. I still have my job and feel a lot more certian about keeping it than I have the past couple of months. I am not totaly in the clear yet, tho.

*waves to Yosef*

Hello, handsome! Glad you stopped in...and really, really glad to hear about your job. :)

Now poke your head inworld every once in a while, wouldja? :)

I've been ignoring this thread hoping it would die. But here it is at the top again! So I'm adding my post to the longest thread before they close the forum or SL goes bankrupt or I go bankrupt or the world goes bankrupt. And what does rupt mean anyway? Is it derived corrupt or erupt? And if the dollar looses it's value, how does it affect the Linden exchange in Europe or Japan? And why can't I find Chinese people in SL? They have a Korean SIM and a Japanese SIM, but I can't point my Chinese friends to the Chinese SIM. SIM, SUM, SAM, SOM, SYM, SEM. Say that 3 times really fast! No faster! FASTER! That's better. My cookies are ready. Time to milk the cow.

Honeybear! Maybe I've missed it because I've been ultra busy today, but just wanted to see if you were feeling any better? I've still got something going on also, but am getting over it. We hit a high of 74 degrees yesterday and today wasn't half bad either.....really, really sucks to have any kind of cold or infection in this kind of weather. I'm getting chilled again yet tonight, so I might pack up things and head to bed here pretty soon, but just in case nobody had asked, I thought I might ask and see if you were feeling any better. I hope you are!

Thank you for asking, Travis. I woke up this morning still headachy and stuff, but felt better as the day went on. I believe that I will sadly be back at work on Monday. ;)

And my question for you is...why does denude mean:
1. To divest of covering; make bare.

Shouldn't it mean just the opposite?

You know you're from Pittsburgh when...

You don't see what all the hype is about Disney World when Kennywood is just around the corner.

"N at' " is eloquently added to the end of every sentence.

You know that the fireworks from the Three Rivers Regatta are the best when you can see the reflections they make off the PPG building.

You have a taste bud for Smiley Cookies.

Words like: hoagie; chipped ham; pop; and gumband actually mean something to you.

You will defend with your life that it's called pop and not soda.

You often go down to the "crick".

You bleed black and gold...

You wake up to KDKA.

You go 'food shoppin' at 'Jine Iggle'.

Chipped ham was always in your refrigerator when you were growing up.

You believe that "Ize" is the abbreviaton for "I was"

"Yinz" is part of common everyday language.

You can find Zelienople on a map.

You know what is meant by "The Point".

You know the time and location of every Wing Night in a 10 mile radius.

You've taken deliberate field trips to the Andy Warhol museum and the Carnegie Science Center.

You're more worried about Big Ben's health than your own.

You own more than one original Terrible Towel.

You're 35 years old, have never been outside of Allegheny County, and don't see the need to leave.

You only own four spices: salt, pepper, Heinz ketchup, and the bottle of Trappey's Red Devil you swiped from Primanti's.

You've ridden the two oldest surviving inclines in the world.

For the life of you, you can't understand why your all your out-of-town friends don't get the "fries and cole slaw" thing...

You walk carefully when it is "slippy" outside.

You've ever gotten hurt by falling into a "jaggerbush".

You know that Ahia is a river, a boulevard, and a state.

You hate Cleveland, although you've never been there.

You know what a steel mill is.

You remember the old Clark Bar building...lighting up while you drive to Three Rivers Stadium to watch the Pirates play...

You can remember pinning that big number on your chest and running through Point Park for the kids' day.

You know which of the three rivers is the dirtiest! hmmm...i wonder?!

You'll still scream for Tony Womack and Jason Kendall even though they left for better teams.

You had a tradition of going to the PPG to see the Santa Claus display every winter.

You remember riding the T to Grant street and walk to the Candy Rama to get some sweets...

You know the "Strip District" isn't really at all what the name intends...

You know the number of doors inside the Liberty Tunnels like the back of your hand...and yet you still count them...

When you refer to "Jimmies", you're not talking about some a group of boys with the same name.

You scream "double yoi" and no one understands you.

You can spell Roethlisberger correctly, even while highly intoxicated.

You know what someone's trying to say when they mention that "Kennywood's open" (yes, that was definitely worthy to be up here!)

You'd rather have a pierogie night over pizza night...but if you were to have pizza, it would have to be Lillen's, no doubt.

You know what a Pat bus is.

yes, You will go downtown in the middle of winter when it's freezing cold just to see the windows.

Your favorite store used to be Kaufmann's.

You get free cookies with a cookie card...and stop by iggle video before you head home.

You know what Ground Round is...and not a meat that you buy at a good ole shop 'n save...

You go to Neville Island to go bowling and ice skating.

You used to sled down the big hill next to frick park even though you hated climbing all the way back up.

A mushroom on Mt. Washington is not referring to a fungi.

You can't get anywhere without going over a bridge.

You find it fun to kill your brain cells while holding your breath through the tubes.

the only candy you find in your easter basket is from Sarris...and you will never enjoy another chocolate covered pretzel unless it's from there.

You know who Donnie Iris is!!

You're in love with the Clarks (sorry it took me so long for that one guys!)

You get your money from a mac machine.

You know where to find the Potato Patch.

when, if you've moved south for school, you wear shorts and t-shirts in 60 degree weather while everyone around you is wearing jackets.

You don't call it anything but the parkway...what's a highway?

You can pronounce the word Duquesne.

The name "Neil O'Donnell" sends you into a expletive-filled tirade.

You go to a Buccos game hoping for the best, expecting the worse and a 100 bucks for beer.... And usually the most exciting parts is the "mystery box" "t-shirt toss" and of course "the pierogie race........"

You know Mrs. T as well as you know your best friend.

It doesn't seem odd to cover your front porch in astro-turf.

You can give someone directions from one side of the city to the other without ever mentioning a street name and using only landmarks.

You don't understand why people say "to be" before verbs. "My car needs washed" or "my hair needs cut" works just fine.

You've experienced first hand why Squirrel Hill is named as such.

Pizza Hut tastes like tofu after you've experienced Mineo's or Vincent's.

The term 'the point' not only means something to you, but you've probably swam in it too.

Saving parking spots with chairs is commonplace.

"Jumbo" bologna and mustard roll-ups were your favorite after school snack.

Iron City beer is the only thing you'll drink during the Stiller games.

You know all the words to "Here we go, Steelers, Here we go"

You had your 6th birthday party on the Good Ship Lollipop.

Your mom would faithfully go to Penn's Colony and Ligonier every year for the craft show.

You can't wait until spring when you can eat all kinds of amazing Greek food.

Going to Sheetz for a date is not at all abnormal.

You say "You guys" even if you're referring to a group of all girls.

You were born at Allegheny General, Magee Women's, or Mercy Hospital.

You could wake up to Bruegger's Bagels daily...a nice warm sesame with bacon scallion cream cheese...mmm...

You know who the legend of Andy Van Slyke was.

You know where 'peanut heaven' was.

Storybook Forest was a significant part of your childhood.

You would choose Herr's salt and vinegar over lay's ANYDAY!

You know that Attorney Edgar Snyder will never fee you unless they get money for you!!

You have a designated day off from school to have a picnic at Kennywood park.

You have a picture of you when you were younger with the pirate parrot.

Your favorite radio station in middle school was B94.

You're so used to living there you simply refer to it as "the Burgh"

You would've loved to see Mr. Rogers and Mrs. T get together...after all, they are two of your favorite people.

You've heard the mayor referred to as Mayor Smurfy.

People will get in their canoes and wait on the river so they can catch a home run ball.

You pretty much felt like you were losing your best friend when TRS was imploded.

You drink water straight from the sink...out of a spicket, to be specific...

You walk carefully when it is "slippy" outside.

You tell your children to "red up" their rooms.

You've ever gotten hurt by falling into a "jaggerbush".

Your mother or grandmother has been seen
wearing a "babushka" on her head.

Mr. Webster is wrong. You know full well that "ain't" is an English word.

You think Mario Lemieux is a god. When he returned to the Pen's, you or someone you know had a party.

You know Beaver Valley, Moon, Mars, Aliquippa, Monaca, Center,New Castle, are actually names of towns.

16. Not only do you know the three rivers by name, but you can spell them too.

You remember the blizzard of 93 and remember not being able to go outside because the snow was over your head, and you would have suffocated.

You've made an igloo and the neighborhood kids have played in it.

It's not unusual to say you live in Picksburgh.

You go to Ocean City or Virginia Beach for vacation.

You expect temps in the winter to be record breaking cold and temps in the summer to be record breaking hot.

You know what Eat 'N Park is and the song that goes with it...Eat N Parks the place...for...SMILES.

You've been to Quaker Steak and Lube and LOVED it.

Yinz is a commonly used word.

You don't have a spring break in high school.

You spend your summers at Kennywood, SandCastle, or Idlewild

Your remember the Steel Phantom's first year and were sad to see it go.

You've also ridden the Pitfall more times than you can count.

You've been to the museum and the Pittsburgh Zoo for schoolfield trips.

You've swam in either the river or the fountain at the Point.

No matter how hard you try you can't stop
speaking Pittsburghese.

You are a Steelers fan through thick and thin and hope that the BUS will play just one more season

You're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because Bradford is the coldest spot in the nation.

Your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March.

You have ever worn shorts, sunglasses and a parka at the same time.

Your town has an equal number of bars and churches, or if you are in church and your priest or minister asks you to pray for the STEELERS, and wants to get you all home for 1 p.m.

You have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number.

"Vacation" means going up north past I-80 for the weekend.

You measure distance in hours.

You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.

You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.

You see people wearing camouflage at social events including weddings.

You install security lights on your house and garage and leave all the doors unlocked.

You carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them.

You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

You know all 4 seasons: almost fall, winter, still winter and road construction.

You can identify a southern or eastern accent.

Your idea of creative landscaping is a concrete statue of a deer next to your blue spruce.

Down South to you means MORGANTOWN WV.

You find '0' degrees "a little chilly."

Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his NEW FORD F150.

You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

You remember what Horne's and Lazarus were.

You turn down the TV during Steeler games and turn on WDVE to listen to Myron Cope because those TV announcers have no idea what they're talking about...YOI!

"Century III Chevrolet, Lebonon Church Road, Pittsburgh...minutes from the mall!!!"

Joe Dinardo is the only weatherman you rely on for the weather.

You remember waiting for KDKA to flash your school name for a 2-hour delay.

You had your prom on The Majestic.

You've been on a bridge named for a baseball player.

You know that the best view comes from an Overlook.

You've ridden on a "T".

The first "Oakland" that pops into your head isn't in California.

"You Gotta Regatta!"

You know that "jeetjet?" is a complete sentence.

You know that Mars and Moon aren't just in outer space.

You've ever experienced the big blue slide at Frick Park...but didn't quite "slide" down it...

:D

Yinz got any questions? :P

Gooood Morning, Everyone! Rainy and windy here, but still in the mid 40's so I'm not complaining(for once!). I already moved all of my clocks forward an hour for DST last night at quitting time just to get a jump start on things, so I've been up since 5am and I'm already on my last cup of coffee. Anyways, hopefully everyone is going to have a great weekend! I'm still working on my taxes...... :(
