i created the forum, but it's a team effort with no one person in charge. it's a team of mods with hopefully a few more added soon. that will be up to the committee currently in place. if it relieves you, outside of operational technicals, i personally don't intend to have much more to do with the operation of it than fixing glitches that help it run smoothly - adding smileys, uploading archives from here (if possible), etc etc

Oh, I signed up. It's not like they got any information (at all!) about me they couldn't get anyway. Except possibly my SL specific gmail address, and big whoop if that gets out.

Oh not a problem with that but its another website login I have to track - I am frugal with my logins is all.

@3Ring, I missed that announcement too. Don't you think it is a lot to put in place on a very faint suspicion that the forums might get closed? Or did I miss something there too?

i did not announce it. i knew it would be asked, but i hadn't gotten around to making that posting in that forum yet. i'm still busy trying to figure out how to move info from one website that i have no internal access to, to one that i do.

also, i have run many many forums with informe.com, and there is no possible way to get personal info that you yourself don't expose in your profile.

it's a free service, so anyone is welcome to create a forum and learn it's administrative capabilities for themselves.

i am not certain how faint it is. LL themselves have made hints that things are closing here and moving to a new format. just venture outside of this thread and you will see much talk about it, with url's offered to make our continuance here even more uncertain.

i hope this place stays as is. i do. that is all.

I have read the talk but it very much seems to me they introduced a Yahoo Answers-styled blog instead, not a replacement for the forums.

Are you sure you are allowed to do this? Presumably you mean posts, I am not sure you can just lift a copy to move anywhere from a copyright perspective.

All this went right over everyones heads :P

Your missing the fact that it IS forum software, that half is just turned off right now.

Edit: well not everyone, just most of the people that replied.

i am buying in to this theory. i think our forums are about to become 'yahoo answers' style, which is not very interactive in comparison to a regular forum. we'll just have to wait and see.

You are discounting what Blue Linden said also though.

Besides why would they introduce the software half disabled, only to re-enable it sometime after? Would make more sense to introduce it all together.

Also I hate to break it to you but having "sl" as part of the forum name might cause you problems. Apparently to use it you need to register with LL the use of the name to be OK to use it.
