I'm not psyched. I see what Blue and the rest are thinking and in it's way it's a good thing ... but I think we need to keep a general forum for community. Not to mention it's recently popular for picking up girls!

I'd hate to see this become a "Yahoo! Answers" thing alone. Not to mention ... am I the only one who has noticed the answers on Yahoo! Answers tend to really, really suck?

I gotta agree, Ghosty. I learned alot by reading the forums before I really went in to SL this weekend and it really helped. The forums are good for everyone to get together as it would be hard to have everyone get together at the same time in SL. Here, they can post and get or give info as they please and not have to be at a certain place at a certain time.

As far as Yahoo answers, i wouldn't know for sure, I only use Yahoo for mail and have forever, but others like Google and Mamma always were the search engines I have used.

I'm on some other forums that have had troubles over the years that have been else shut down or had technical difficulty and out of the hundreds or thousands on there we always had certain other forums we all knew of that we could at least find out what was going on and where we should be going. I don't know about the rest of you, but SL is pretty much the only place I have ever dealt with 'virtual chat rooms' so I don't know for sure if I'd know where to meet up if there was problems. Sometimes I see someone mention the 'other side of the road' here or something like that, but I wasn't for sure what they meant.

because that's probably the direction we are headed, this new forum has been created. meant for EVERY SL resident. it doesn't have an angry undercurrent or just a single moderator on a power trip, and hopefully will be much like this thread.

Considering who we are talking about here, it's never premature. Remember, LL likes to announce things that never happen, or announce their intentions after the fact. You just can't figure 'em out, those wacky, zany Lindens.

Awww fair dues, they announced the new blog and it happened and announced the closure of OnRez well in advance too. Maybe they have learned something after all.
