At th' borin place, they used to offer -- an I kid you note -- seven varieties of coffee, from a decaf all the way to a Kona. These were cut back to "regular an "decaf" a week before they did their first round of layoffs.

Me, I never figured out why they offered so many different varieties in the first place, and that if they've kept it simple then, they wouldn't have hadda take away later. Story of that place, though.

Mari

we had that AND several varieties of tea AND hot cocoa at my last office job. i think the idea is that it's one way to keep employees happy. i was happy. :D

at my current job, i am FORBIDDEN to bring coffee or anything else beyond bottled water. i have been given reasons, but imo they are not legitimate. but then, i'm not the controlling, power-hungry diva i once was (and that my current boss is now). *sigh*

on top of that, i make $7/hr less than my last job. well, that's by choice. i shouldn't complain i suppose.

Claire!!! If I had known you were moving out...well, last Saturday's party could have been even crazier!! At the very least, we could have grafitti-ed the place. :p

And sounds like we'll be having a 3-day bash at Gaby/Brenda/Claire's places. :D
It is awesome to have Claire with us and there is space enough for the mother of all bashes :) VV

EDIT: OMG You all posted so much since yesterday - now I have to catch up again :( I am slow vampy today.

Now would be a good time to tell Gabby that I am anemic and my blood tastes bad. (My mother always said I had bad blood from my father's side...)

That one made me go "ewwww". Then, it made ME think evil thoughts. Then it made Ghosty and I really really want to write something which would only start trouble. We decided to be good ;)

This is what the owner/designer of a store was wearing when she greeted me and offered to model any of her outfits. Can't say this makes me want to buy anything there.

Look at the seam alignment and how she has the top of the prim skirt fitting.

I soooo need to just start making clothes - I am becoming such a snob about construction.

Gorgeous pics. What you need to make those pics really sparkle is shadowing and highlights. Right now you look like you're floating against a backdrop. You need to add natural shadowing where your feet start, running up against the backdrop to reflect the light source, which should be more obvious. Your current light source is dead ahead which is less interesting than a light source from, say, over your right shoulder, or in front of you and to the right.

Give your feet something to stand on by shading the entire "floor" area a darker tone, and run your shadows up along the "walls."

Contrast the two pics below and notice the shading BEHIND me. Which gives more depth and reality? Also look at light sources... which has more drama and play on the skin and fabrics?

[ETA: I am NOT a professional and don't claim to be nearly as good as those who are! These are just my attempts.]

/me whimpers

I wouldn't know how to do half of what you said up there!
