From: Elora Lunasea Oh Maureen, thank you! Both of us didn't take pix. Between Ghosty being preoccupied with the party, and me not having everything rezzing properly (1/2 of the people never completely came into view until late in the evening - I didn't dare take a photo), we have nothing of the evening I hardly got any shots ; no one would stand still - everyone was dancing up a storm!! However, I am betting our resident shutterbugs Lil and Soji took a bunch of pics. ETA: Soji does have pics up on his Flickr page.

I was just looking at Flickr and noticed Soji got quite a few. Hopefully Lil got some as well. BTW, your dress was stunning. Unfortunately on my screen, the overlayer on the skirt kept disappearing! I had to keep looking at Ghosty's monitor to get a good look at what everyone had on. I had no clue what Honey's dress looked like at all until he mentioned I should unplug the laptop (I'm wireless) and move over closer to where his PC is.

From: Ghosty Kips That hat reminds me of ... something ... No... thats not it ... One day, someone (NOT OFFERING!) should really go through this thread and make a list of every topic ever covered. I do truly believe we have pretty much seen or taked about nearly everything known to mankind here. Or, made it up

From: Amaranthim Talon Ok- well- the small one shows 69 prims and is not included in the count of the main parcel. When I have tried to join the two parts like that- and it covers parcels in between that are not owned by me- i get that message about cannot join parcels...
I've seen other land-related things be temperamental about grid load, so maybe try again another time? It's supposed to work, and I've done it before, lots of times, so if it won't work at all anymore that would be a change. The prim count thing: yes, it keeps separate counts for each parcel, but the top line (whatever it's called... total prims in use and available in the sim) is the sum of all the prims on all the parcels with that owner. So the point is, multiple parcels can "spend" each others' prims within the sim-wide total.

I'm so sorry to hear that Chris is having serious health problems. I don't think he and I ever had any direct conversations but I've always enjoyed being there when he was around and appreciated the wit and sensitivity of his forum comments even when I didn't exactly agree with him. I feel sad that he won't be around and my heart goes out to all of you who were close to him.

Dang I missed another great party yesterday (um assuming I was invited ). I was belatedly celebrating my son's birthday by watching "Ratatouille" and eating Christmas pudding with him, my husband, and my grandson. I'm glad you all had fun. I love that hat Elora! I had a smaller version of that hat in rl back in the late 80's I thought I looked so hot in it but there really weren't that many occasions to wear it. From: Ghosty Kips Now, if I had known it was you, I'd have voted for ya If Brenda's is the mind that runs SP she obviously didn't want your vote. Or mine. From: 3Ring Binder /me now has the GeForce 8600GT installed on my computer and totally gets what all the cool windlight talk has been about.
i had the 6500 before, and could enjoy windlight at a price - turn every slider to full and i could see what windlight was. but then it was like walking through mud - every other fps. LOL
now, my settings are all still at the lowest settings and i can view SL with those great water/sky/reflection features.
very cool. I'm saving up to replace my 7800... and get more memory, a faster processor, better sound card...

ETA: Soji does have pics up on his Flickr page. I'm glad Soji got pics. My login was being a bit flaky and I have learned that when it is doing that, I should not be tryin to snap the camera or I will be crashing - so no pics from this end.

It's supposed to work, and I've done it before, lots of times, so if it won't work at all anymore that would be a change. I always thought that the parcels had to be touching to join them. It will definitely be nice to be able to do this to non touching parcels.

From: Elora Lunasea The sudden news about Chris and his health status and subsequently leaving our family, put a sad note on it however. He is a good friend of mine, and has been there for me (and many others as we all well know) in many ways since I've arrived here. As soon as he posted the thread link in the group chat, I went and read it. I only read the few bit before jumping back to my SL screen to try to send him an IM and he had already logged out - logged out immediately after sending that link. I spent all night with tears in my eyes. He was one of the first people that I met and really got to know at the Hangout - was one of Lil's first solid friends.

Good afternoon everyone. @Elora(&Ghosty) - I had a wonderful time at your party yesterday. Thanks for hosting! And Ghosty's new work is excellent! @Everyone - I didn't know Chris. But I know he means the world to y'all. I am sorry that he is leaving due to his health. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I will also keep all of you as well, as you each deal with his decision in your own manner. *hugs*

I would put this in the other thread, but no one else has any pictures in it and well . . . Since this isn't that thread, and as I do not recall seeing any in this thread either, I'll just post the one picture here. I shall imagine Chris sitting precariously somewhere with Feline by his side, even though . . . Uploaded to flickr March 2, 2008

Things are very strange around here. Bradley comes back. Chris sadly leaves. Trout stops in to say hello after a hiatus across the street and OMG Jumpman starts a thread after being MIA for eons. I am reminded of that Wizard of Oz line: "People come and go so quickly here" I'm feeling very nostalgic today. /me sighs
