Roses are Red, Violets are Blue.

Anywho.... I just bought something today that I've been wanting for years but never had the money (till now) to spare:

I always wanted one, but $20 was still a bit much for something frivolous. :o

I can't help trying to make it activate. Heh! Wishful thinking!! :)
It's pretty. What is it?

From: Maureen Boccaccio

edit: heh, just found out where the box is from. Never saw any of those movies...too skeery for me.

Never mind, Tod; I probably don't want to know

"Hellraiser" movies; apparently, it's Pinhead's Chinese puzzle box.
Ah. Not a movie I'll probably ever see. Going to the cinema to be frightened is a bit of an ordeal for me.

From: 3Ring Binder
oh. never saw that movie, so still don't know what will happen when he opens it..... but thanks for answering my question.

by the sounds of the name alone, i say DON'T OPEN IT!

The new job is kinda fun- I may be putting tons of mileage on my car, but the pay is decent & for once in several years all my bills are paid for the month without worrying about the day after.
May one inquire what kind of job? Please ignore my question if it's too nosey.

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forums but thought I would post my little poem.

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
I'm a little kitty
Are you one too ?
Welcome SophiaAnne! Thanks for the poem. In my case the answer is no. But we love kitties here. And poets.

From: Brenda Connolly
It's just a shame the old ones aren't transferable. I had to deep six about 20 of them, rather than having them just sitting in the inventory.
It the American way. It's how we keep the economy "going".

I'm working as a "Dell Certified" technician.

Basically, picking up parts, then driving to a customer's home or business to install the parts.

The only downside I see so far is putting gas in my car every 2 or 3 days.

If they didnt pay Mileage I probably wouldnt do it.

Heh! So yea, if any of you are in SW PA, and call Dell, and Dell decides you need a part replaced, odds are you'll get me coming over to replace it.

BTW- I HATE the XPS series!! SO many lil' screws in that model! The Precision Laptops aren't much better.

And nothing's worse than taking one apart, putting it back together, and realizing you have screws left over!

For folks wondering "Why can't I build a laptop?"- Answer is, cuz they're all proprietary parts. One model differs from another.

You learn to hate it. I love LCD replacements! SO easy! 4 screws to remove, and the keyboard. Motherboards require taking the whole damn thing apart. You mostly only need 2 screwdrivers to take a Dell laptop apart. A #1 and a #0. Maybe something like a flat-head screwdriver to pry off a few things.

In my lil' adventures, I got to go to some neat places, like the Carnegie Robotics Institute. Very COOL!

My favorite "on the job" game is "stump Dell". I had a call that involved a desktop system. Couldnt remove the CD/DVD Drives. Followed their instructions to the letter. Turns out they didnt mention a plastic shim above the Drive Bay. Who ever worked on it last messed it up. The shim was warped & not coming out. Took me & the owner to pull it out. The guy even said "Lets not put it back in". Fine with me! After 2 hours of working on it, he's a happy guy.

I think thats my thing: When a customer smiles, I know I did good.

I love a smiling customer :)

I suspect that there's a number of folks who only read this thread now, so forgive me for interrupting to call your attention to a Jira bug that you may want to vote for, re: Missing Textures: /327/7d/283216/1.html

If you vote, comment on the thread to bump it!

Thank you, now back to pastrami.

Wrong and right!
You guessed it, there is only ONE place for pastrami sandwiches in Pittsburgh. Just as there in only one place for fish sandwiches (Wholey's). Forgot the name of the place there with one jillion kinds of fresh pasta and then close to there is a place you can buy bulk loose tea blends that were inexpensive. My fav was Snow Monkey Plum Blossom. Halfway surprised when the DEA didn't call on me one of the few times I sent my sis a 1/4 lb of that tea by regular mail :p

God I miss living in Moon Township and being able to pop over to the Strip District(No. Not what you think guys!).

Is that the place they show on TV all the time? Where they put everything but the kitchen sink on the sandwiches?

i hate to make myself seem limited when it comes to the size of particular pastrami's, but i don't think i can open my mouth big enough to take that in. seriously.
