This one is a double post because I know some clothing designers in this thread were interested and I do not know how much they are reading the other threads:

One of the things that we go back and forth on is whether it is better to have Copy or Transfer on clothes. Usually, I personally prefer Transfer so that I can give items away and let others benefit from them also, but I know that a very large number of people prefer Copy.

I recently was in a store that actually popped up a blue box asking if you wanted a Copy or Transfer version when you bought an item. I think I have seen this in a couple of stores, but definitely not very many. I do not know what is involved in giving the customer this option, but if you do not know either and are interested in maybe giving your customers that option, you could contact the owner of this store and see how they do it.

How many more minutes?
When are we going to get there?
I have to go to the bathroom.
He/she/it is looking at me!!
Make him/her/it stop touching me!!
His/her/Its sandwich is bigger than mine.
I never get to do anything, ever.

(heh...was channeling childhood family car trips for a minute there :p --
3 brothers, one sister, 2 parents...)

Hi Lil, as a scripter I can quite easily see how this could be done using the Pay option instead of Buy. You would simply send a different object for each choice. The way achieving something like this with Buy would be to have two boxes out with different permissions.
I like the idea of choice for clothes - I would choose Transfer without exception in all cases.

Some things I prefer to be copiable, especially if I know I'm going to have to tinker with it, e.g., a prim skirt, or a belt or something...

However, to have the choice to have something be copiable or transferable would be quite useful in most cases.

And!! Shopping for someone else is so much easier if there's a transfer option, and especially for guys' apparel! Sometimes I'd prefer to actually purchase something and give it as a gift, rather than a) giving a gift card or b) having the vendor send it...

"I threw it in the river".

Movie drove me nuts.

If I'd been camping with those idiots, they wouldn't have lasted til the end of the movie.

Don't you just hate when you get copiable on everything except the prim parts? I find that a disturbing amount and it irritates me no end :(

Not always possible especially with the Pay option but I guess I could avoid those places but that covers a lot of nice places to shop :( *sighs* shopping is getting so much harder and a lot less fun than it used to be.

If any of you ladies that have gotten jewelry from my wife need a copy/mod/no transfer version, just let me know. I will see that you get it. I don't remember what the perms are but I believe she made them Trans so they could be given as gifts.

Anyway.. just let me know.
