Totally Dissapointed

Hello people, this is the situation. I have my land on a sim that is 95% owned my my neighbours, the sim that is. They have previously tried to get me to sell my land, which I have refused. I have 2 skyboxes on my land, basically just platforms. Two weeks ago my lovely neighbours decided to aggrivate me by annexing structures to my skyboxes. When I asked why they responded, "because we can". I took matters into my own hands to stop their childish antics and consequently received a two week suspension. I regret doing this of course and not going through the AR channels, but as I have discovered throughout this fiasco, getting some kind of response thorough the support system or AR reports is useless. Unless of course you have Lindens at youre disposal as my neighbours have assured me they do. Anyway I get my account suspension lifted about 2 days ago. As soon as I log in at home they are waiting for me and start to surround my skyboxes in blank prims. I report abuse and nothing. They get onto their contacts and hey presto, my account has been disabled. No email advising me why, nothing. I think this stinks, how bout anyone else?

You have to AR their stuff as harassment and explain - but unfortunately YOU are now on record as a griefer, and your credibility is shot.

I don't know what you mean by "annexing" things to your structures - why are they able to?

1. You shouldn't build right up to the edge of your property and 2. it is foolhardy to not restrict object entry, building, and scripts to a group of your own. Make an alt, make a group, and keep them off. Also, ban those people from your land and mute them.

I don't know what caused this pissing contest, as most people are generally nice - but you are in the hole now that your credibility has been damaged. Either move or learn to block them out.

errm pick up the phone sounds like they are abusing lindens actually if that makes sense. Especially in case #2 I think when you AR someone they get a copy? So they just used their concierge and lied. Problem is that they might not believe you since the first time you faught back in the way you did. I would however pick up the phone and dig out the chat log. I had a guy do the invisible prim thing to me as well I had to leave I was forced out. some peopel are just mean period.

Honestly what i would do is leave the land sell it but put it for sale to them alone and double the price when they buy it cash in half the lindens and buy more land with the other half or buy land now and double the price. That may sound strage but they are trying to extort the land outa you nothing says you can't turn the tables around. meanwhile pick up the phone and complain about the false AR's

If i got back ingame I would pick up everything find out the name of the owners set the land for sale to them only but at twice the average market rate and leave and wait. If they want it that bad make em pay for it.

Especially mainland land its not like its in short supply or special landscaping or anything.

There is one big problem the linden don`t even both with AR reports anymore. If the lindens are not going to protect those that are harmed, then why even both with AR at all? In this case the attacker was they one banned for stupid griefters knows the rules. This just another example of why AR reports should just stop altogther, and just the users take matters in their own hands. How can the linden look at 1000` if not 100,000`s of AR?

I'll plan to do this if I get my account back. It's hard for me cause I'm in Australia so I can't just pick up the phone and call LL. Anyway I just basically wanted to be heard so thank you.

At the bottom of any e-mail informing you of a suspension (or possible ban) there's an address for the Abuse Manager if you wish to contest it.

Note that people are allowed to build all the way to the edge of their parcel, at any altitude, but their objects should not intersect your parcel. If they do the first step is to drop them an IM, wait about 72-hours, and if the objects haven't been pulled back within the bounds of their own parcel then file an Abuse Report (include screenshoot).

I'd say triple price for the headaches incurred. They want it, they can buy it for that much more at this point. Yes, I am evil like that.

For the future, don't let people bully you into doing something stupid. I know.. it's much harder to do. *sigh* Tempers are such nasty things.

I agree, price it for $L40/sqm, put a huge prim, maybe the 40m x7m x.5 with a "For Sale" on it with a rotation script and leave it at that. Normally, I don't condone such actions, but if you tell the truth, it is an exception. Then, take the money after the sale and buy a nice parcel, but shop around first and take the time!

It would be one thing if you were on the ground. Last time I checked, all skyboxes had the same view of the oversized sun on every sim. Find a low lag one and take these rude mofos for as many lindens as you can.

Well LLABs doesnot do even that anymore. Done it without and luck for now 6 months. I don`t know what llabs is doing in issues like this. But nothing is beeing done and the situation is getting worse.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine a few months back and it's still unresolved. Definitely not a nice situation to be in and, unfortunately, probably only remedied by moving house. But some suggestions...

Put your land up for sale, at least L$50k per 512 sqm, if they're that desperate they'll buy it.

Set autoreturn to 1.

Restrict access to yourself and friends only, including scripts & objects (untick all of them).

AR them for any infringements, no matter how minor.

Log all chat & IM's. Use them in AR's, if necessary.

Most importantly, this is the really hard part, don't grief back. As you've found, it's just not worth it. I've found the best remedy to verbal attack is to be really super, super nice & sugary sweet (show no sign of frustration or anger) - pees them off more than anything else possible.

Out there, anyone starting nonsense like that is gonna get pwned by the sim owner, who *wants* an environment conducive to good business.

Of course, there's the chance that you'll end up with a sim owner who is the cause of your troubles, not the cure... that risk is the price paid for security.

Just as an aside, claiming that "you know a Linden and they'll sort you out" is actually abuse reportable in itself.

When u Threaten and Grief people and Crash sims with items used people have NO sympathy u deserved what you got you crashed sims to grief your neighbors =) you were AR'd Lindens saw what you did You had prims over hanging onto your neighbors land when asked top remove them you refused and thought you had the right to build on other lands You bullied the neighbors telling where they could and could not build on THERE lands which you have no right to do you have No right to use scripted objects to crash a sim over and over i have NO PITY for a person like you YOU DESERVE what you GET and Lindens are then when a person needs them it may take a lil work but they are there when the problem is bad enough

i think candy you were given around 72 hours warning were you not ? pretty close to that.... to remove your prims that were on your neighbors lands it wasnt your neighbor prims on your land it was yours on theres and i believe correct me if im wrong they were not a problem being there until after you crashed the sim repeatedly and i have pretty good knowledge that the normal AR route was the only thing used in having your prims removed i believe it was your other actions that got your account banned
SL has rules just like RL and because it is a game people think they can get away with whatever they like
when a person repeatedly caused grief or trouble and are banned all over lindens see that we may not think they are watching but i assure you they are and when you need them they will be there and if your in the right you will be justified.

You can say what you like about Mako truth is he has a list of friends a mile long who support him. Which is why I posted his thread, because it's obvious if he's been banned he hasn't got access to the forums. But I'll keep him well informed. Thanking you.

In your first post you identified yourself as Mako, and you spoke in the first person throughout your posts here. Now you seem to be suggesting Mako is just a friend of yours. This is very confusing. If you wish the help and support of this community, you have to be honest with us.

We once had a huge nasty house on our sim ... covered in Spiderman pictures. He shot the place up etc etc and was encroaching into our land. This is before all the spiffy things which stop such shenanagins now.

We AR'd and AR'd and AR'd ... till one day a Linden happened to be in the area and my neighbour asked that he took a look. He was pretty peeved at the amount of encroachment etc and the problem was solved within minutes.

The lesson here is not to take things into your own hands, unless taking things into your own hands was getting a Psyke orb and putting some textured prims, on your own land, so you can't see what people are doing outside.

Ring Linden. Maybe if you can convince them you are repentant they might relent but I dread to think what you did to actually get your knuckles rapped. It takes a lot.
