Ruthed and unable to do anything about it?

Okay, who else is suffering from this 'glitch' or something? My husband is suffering from the whole, Ruthed avatar, empty inventory folders and not being able to edit their avatar because the Appearance thing will NOT respond? And not to mention that any changes to either avatar or inventory is gone the next time you attempt to log?
He's tried the whole list of workarounds, including the clearing cache, logging in on a different and hopefully quieter sim. 3 of those in fact. Even tried two separate computers. Now before anyone starts screaming check the network, my account works beautifully, using the same clients on the same two computers. It's ONLY his account that's affected.
Tried Help Request... in which, he found that he wasn't the only one, but aside from the workarounds, no one could help. Calling Support is a joke, of course. And he bug-reported just to get it on the list. And the one Linden in Help Response said it was probably a hiccup in the asset server... Might correct itself. Two hours later, still no fix.
So, who else is suffering from this? And if you did and got it fixed, please, please, please tell me HOW!

Ruth can kinda usually be removed by putting another shape on then the original on. But Ive never heard of such a bad deal as you just described.

I have had multiple experiences with the dreaded Ruth woman. Usually Ruth + invisible avatar with only attachments showing is a sign of server side (Linden Labs) network problems. Does he have a folder with an entire outfit in it? (shape, hair, eyes, clothes, etc?) I have found that clicking on a full outfit folder in the inventory and clicking replace outfit can fix it sometimes. Otherwise, you may have to wait it out. Good luck to you.

Nope, would have tried it or a couple of other workarounds if the folders hadn't been void of objects/clothing/body parts. I usually just go to edit appearance when it happens to me. Sorts it out nicely. And thanks for the good luck! Colette, the Library folders were empty too. It's like... the system didn't fully connect to the part of the asset server holding the avatar and inventory information. Surroundings had no problem rezzing.. just him.

Best of luck to him Did. Spent at least 30 minutes with one poor soul, who couldn't really help, because they were just a volunteer. Got a Linden after a bit, though he crashed after describing part of the issue and he couldn't get back to that Linden, and gave up after 30 minutes. I'll try it again if he won't, then. He's a bit frustrated at the moment, so he's playing City of Villains for the moment.

Can you send him an entire outfit? Maybe make him a man outfit from your inventory, package it in a box prim, and send it over? Of course if all of his inventory items aren't showing that may not work either.
P.S. Has he tried logging in with both the regular viewer and the FL one?

I logged in after the update. Everything about my avatar was normal, skin, color, attachments etc. But I had Ruth's shape. Eww!. I tried to fix it but I couldn't open the appearance panel because it said my clothes hadn't loaded. So I just gave up and logged out. I'm hoping it will all be fine tomorrow when things have settled down.

I love update days. lol I've had an odd issue today as well, although not one which actually causes any problems. I keep getting the 'Your home region is not available, you're being moved to an adjacent one' message, but I still get logged in at home. I logged in and out 6+ times to test, got the message every time, and arrived at home all but once. The one time I didn't, I was immediately able to tp home using the 'Go Home' button on the map.

Thank goodness. At least now, we know that the Lindens have the information. A big thanks to Char for taking the time to get all the information and trying to work this out! Even if it's not straightened out, at least we know they've got what they need to be able to look into it. That's what matters!
I feel really sorry for the Lindens and volunteers right now. The time after updates is the worst time for customer support.

Very similar events happened to me this afternoon...I just stuck it out for about 20 minutes and my shape (and inventory) all finally came back. It seems to happen to me a lot whenever there are well over 30,000 people online, which is the case every wedsnday afternoon after an update.

To fix his inventory, have him try the following.
1. Open Inventory.
2. Click File and then New Window.
3. Close first inventory Window and uses the second.
To fix his invisible Avatar problem....
1. Press Control + Shift + Alt + D to bring up the Debug menus if they aren't open already.
2. Under Client (at the top of the screen next to Help), go to Charactacter, then Chatacter Tests, then Test Male or Female. He should appear on his screen and to you as a newbie male or female.
3. Now have him open his inventory and re-wear his skin, shape, hair, and whatever else.
Hope that helps. From the sounds of your problems that should fix him, if not...my apologies.

Great Update  I've been Ruthed as well. Empty Inventory Folders, the whole ball of wax. None of the fixes mentioned her worked for me. First the billing bug where I can't give them money, now this. Lovely. Guess I am going to have to go and read a book! If I remember how.

Hehe - I am also ruthed this morning as well. It's definitely an asset issue but it sure isn't related to load since there are only 16,000 AVs online. Oh well, it will get sorted eventually hopefully.

Anyone care to venture a guess as to why only some people get ruthed and others don't? I have a good system so that can't be it...just wondering why some accounts have been rendered basically useless and others are having no issues. Strangely, I had no issues last night at all...but this morning when I logged in and no one was really even online, RUTH. With, as many of you have pointed out, no workaround to fix the ugly

If you are affected by the bug, get on the Help Request and let them know you are having the problem. Last night, they were aware of at least 3 other people having the problem. And from the blog post, it is an asset related problem, which means it can possibly affect more people.
*mutters* I logged in and was briefly ruthed. Scared the snot out of me.

I did use Help Request. They said read the blog....which says it's "easing." That may be for some. But there is clearly another issue if only select people are still being ruthed in empty sims with only 16,000 people online. That in itself says it's not load - but yes, that it's asset related.

No ruthing here but ever since the start-up from the "upgrade" my shape and skin took hours to loads and inventory folders wont open, or are half full.
Help request result in references to uselss FAQs!
Ah well - thats two days lost now on my massive build....

I'm still Ruth'ed. First Help request was answerd quickly, with the "We are aware and are working on it"....Sent a second but no answer
Considering it took 3 days for an official acknowledgment of the PayPal issue, I don't know what to think All I know is my premium is due on Sunday....
I even tried redownloading the software, but no joy ......I won't be able to log on for about 12 hours so that gives them plenty of time.
