Sad to hear. So we have until Feb. 9th.

From: someone
On Tuesday, February 9th we're transitioning our forums, from the vBulletin software we've been running for years to the integrated Clearspace software which can currently be found at http://blogs.secondlife.com. This transition will mean that new forum channels will be opened on Clearspace and the vBulletin forums will be closed and archived.

I don't know if I've ever seen or participated in a Clearspace forum. But it doesn't appear to me to be the end of the world. A change,yes.........but it could be a change for the better. How many times have we all heard how shoddy and lacking this forums is?

I choose to look on the bright side.......I sometimes think a lot of people see that as a bad thing but I don't. :) Time will tell...........about a week and a half in fact. :)

I hope Cristiano is prepared for the influx.

Of course I realize the die-hard sycophants and those who don't like to start fights without mommy Linden's arms to go running crying to will suck up to the new blogrums like a remora, but for those who want an actual forum:

http://www.sluniverse.com

http://www.secondcitizen.net

http://secondsurvivor.com

http://www.terrorofthought.com

http://www.forumcartel.com

Merchant stie forums:

http://slapt.me/phpBB3/index.php
http://meta-life.net/forum
http://www.apez.biz/modules.php?name=Forums

(It's okay, Pepper, we know you like to hide under yer mommy's skirts)

Obviously you have not been subjected to the total absence of moderation over there for the past week lmao. It is like the greiefers overran ahern. Almost as though the wacks figured out they could do more damage right in that forum by insulting and accosting people.

However, if LL makes good on the promise they made long ago, moderation will be outsourced. Since whoever that means is the moderators will likely be part of the mainstream that doesn't like anyone in or around SL then your account will be placed in jeopardy with every post if the outsourced mod doesn't share your form of witty humor.

I'm not so much concerned about finding an alternative to this forum as I am about fragmenting its user base.

With so many options, which is the best to choose? I don't have time for more than one SL forum.
I would prefer one with a relatively low level of drama, one that is informative and friendly, and one where the idiots who start brawls just because anonymity gives them that option are kept on a leash.

Any suggestions?

It's pretty much dead at the moment - a post a day type of thing - but it's a nice little forum that I hope will get used now.

I'm choosing none of the above. I am not going near anything with the "Offical" LL stamp on it, that's for sure. I'll probably lurk at SLU to keep an eye out for continuing Stupid Linden Tricks, but I only have so much online time to waste and despite LL's wish that we do everything outside of SL, I'll spend that available time inworld.

I've used clearspace forums, the ones here via the blog, powergui use it I believe, Adobe, Frontrange. everywhere I use it, it seems clunkier than vbulletin or Php, it's not dedicated forum software and it shows. Without a doubt it has more features, but that doesn't equal better usability.

The way I read it, there will be a new forum, one which might even be better than this one.
I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it.

Sorry, Anglefire is ass, so I won't add that.

Oh, don't get me wrong. It's fine for people who thing they're still in the 90's, need poorly contrasting text, and horrid midi music!

But I'm not adding it. :p

Oh drat! I thought I'd mentioned it in both thread, but both mentions are in this one :(

We seem to have a battle of the threads right now.
