How do I get out of the BloodLines database?

How can I get out of the BloodLines database?
My alt was on a sim that issues a public notice that no vampire RP is allowed, the Paris Eiffel sim, with my wife. At the top of the tower there is a free parachute which looked like a fun thing to try. What could be cooler than parachuting off the Eiffel Tower? It was a bit crowded up there and as I neared the drop off, I was shoved off before I could get the chute, so I had to come back up again. This time I got the chute and wore it and was shoved off again. While I was in free fall I clicked the chute to see if I could get some steering or help instructions, that is when I received a request to animate my avatar. I thought it would be a cool parachute animation and clicked "yes". Remember I was in free fall. It was when I received an offer for bite marks that I thought something had happened, checked with my wife who participates in the vampire RP and learned I had been bitten.*
Now she can never be the first person to bite me, if I should choose to participate
1) There should be a way to get out of the database.*
2) There should be a way to set your sim as no vampire or lycan just as there is a way to set your sim as "no fly' or "no push"
For those who say it doesn't matter, just because it doesn't bother them doesn't mean I shouldn't be angry at being virtually raped and put in a databse with no option to get removed from that database
Technically, it may not be a Ponzi scheme but a pyramid is a pyramid and they want your money without giving you recourse. Just try to contact the people who run the vampire schemes and collect the money. It can't be done.
I am hoping to find a way to repair my AV, and I don't want to hear previous arguments.I don't want to buy or use anything from them. If anyone has a real answer, please contact me.
Thank you

You don't ... and some vampire games are good for data mining. I found I got random spam and group invites after being bitten once.

You can use Garlic, sending it to you in world. Wear it and click on it. That puts you on the Bloodlines data table that says you are not interested. Best you can do. You won't get off it. They even keep who someone -tried- to bite.

Edit: Sent.

Blood lines should have:

"Click here to join the Bloodlines game and enable vampires to try and bite you."

"Are you sure you want to join in the hunt as prey?"

Yes - No - Ignore.

"I don't want to buy or use anything from them."
I'm sure they want to keep everyone in their database to show how immensely "popular" they are. I don't want to participate at this time or encourage them by using any of their products.
Thanks anyway

My attacker has been reported to LL.
I have contacted several BloodLines representatives with no response other than "I'll ask Lysle"
Who should I contact? There is no "contact us" or forum on the bloodLines website.

If you get off their hey i have not been bitten yet data base your put on a one that says dont bite me . It should be a opt in not an opt out. LL needs to take some action on this one but no matter how many times its reported nothing seems to be done

You have a good point. If they want to RP, go to their website and sign up. LL has got to be getting something out of this, money or SL participant numbers or something. I wonder how many people have killed off their infected AVs and come back as an alt.

Perhaps I wrote that last because of sheer frustration or low blood sugar or something. I'd rather this be a discussion about a reasonable solution rather than just a vent for anger and then defensive responses.

Unfortunately, the only way off that database (as far as I know) is to wear the garlic necklace and activate it. You will then be removed from that database and instead put in another database that basically says "I do not want to play your silly game". Though you must play the silly game to a degree in order to tell them that you don't want to play -- i.e. the garlic necklace.

I believe you can get one for free on Xstreet or I can send you a copy of mine when I log in -- or likely many others have one and can give you a copy.

ETA -- I cannot find the necklace itself on Xstreet, but you can get this for free and it will give out a necklace when clicked:

That's why I did the garlic necklace. Until the time LL does something to make things different, this is how it is. I realize I am now in another database that says I don't want to play their silly game and to leave me alone, but it's better than getting bite requests, or having something happen accidentally like what happened to the OP. So until things change, the garlic necklace works for me, is worth it to have peace and quiet from the Bloodlines RPers.

It should be a opt in not an opt out.

It is an opt in database. You opt in when you accept a bite request.

Yeah, it sucks when people trick you into accepting it. Those people should be reported to LL and the landowner where they do their business.

You have to be careful about clicking through dialogue boxes or you'll end up doing something a lot worse than accepting a nonsense vampire bite. About once a month someone posts about accidentally selling their land to a bot for L$1. Be careful out there.

Yes, Bloodlines should allow people to be removed from the database, and credit for the bite removed from the player.

If there was no data base when they scan with their HUD they would not get a list of those who have not been bitten.
When I was not on any list and getting bite offers all the time, not one of them was in a RP sim i might add. I ended up contacting the BL maker and complaining and asking why he has not asset it up that the HUD only works in RP sims that allow it. His response was maybe one day but said to let him know if someone was spamming . As I was getting fed up with the offers which were a real pain when one is shopping I took to note carding each bite offer i got and sending each note to the maker. This meant the maker had about 40 cards in 25 mins. He "removed" me (his words) from the data base. Now and then i get an IM asking why i left BL seems they get some message to leave me alone

They don't need a list of people who have not been bitten. They need a list of people who have been bitten or used the garlic necklace. If you aren't on either list, the HUD can send you bite requests.

I'll try and find the maker's name inworld but I would be pleased if you would post it here. Whoever it is should be proud enough of their work to take the responsibility as well as the money. There are a lot of people who want a solution and get fooled into buying BL's products or have well meaning friends buy the products for them. It should not be necessary to jump through hoops to get out of the database.
To recap:
The attacker violated LL's T&C
I was on a posted no vampire sim
The attacker violated BL's own rules of conduct
Yet a reasonable request to be removed from the BL database is ignored

OK, I sent a notecard to Lyle Maeterlinck who is listed as maker of the HUD and to Noire Luminos who is listed as a contact in his profile.
Please pass these names around to unhappy vampire victims. In fact I would suggest publishing their names widely as possible as they aren't mentioned and there are no contact links to them on the BL website or the main BL sim or in any NC given with BL products. I wonder why.............................

I wasn't sure which way to vote on this poll, since it could be read a number of different ways.

I took it as "Should residents be given a way to force the owners of databases to remove them from said databases?", rather than "Should RP game makers provide a way for residents to be removed from their databases, at resident request?".

For the former, I vote "no". For the latter, I would vote "yes".

The question was meant the latter way. "Should RP game makers provide a way for residents to be removed from their databases, at resident request?".

I'd vote yes to both of those.

Give me the power to force the owner of any database to remove me.
And require owners of databases to provide a way for me to remove myself.

*shrug* I keep a lot of databases for my business and for a few other businesses. The data is mine, as I collected it, and it is based on publicly-accessible information, or information from private/business interactions with others. No one has the right to force me to remove any such data from my database.

I don't even agree that people should be REQUIRED to provide "opt-out". They SHOULD do it, but I am not going to support any kind of enforced requirement for them to do so.

well, obviously it can't happen, but i'd vote yes on forcibly even removing the awareness i exist , from anywhere i dont want that awareness to be.

'Bloodlines' threads have been discussed at leangth and exhausted. To the OP - nothing has happened to your avi, just forget it - its roleplay, a silly in-house game some people like to play. It's only important to those involved in vampire rp. You'll just waste an enormous amount of time trying to remove a 'avatar name' from some miscellaneous database, forgetting that perhaps your 'real name' is on many more databases, that you care to shake a hairy stick at.
