Cannot access SL

I am hoping someone can help me in this long thread. Last night I could not log on because I was asked to reset my password. Fine no problem. Then I realized my email address is not correct. To change my email I need my password to work. My password is not working. I am between a rock and a hard place. I see no light. I submitted a ticket. I tried to call--but disconnected. At my wits end. How can such a sophisticated social network be antiquated and have such little support???? HELP

I had this happen to i used the correct link etc and got the email went to the security page and answered the questions correctly and the page said they were the worng answers which was Bullsh*t and cut my account off, i finally got thro to billing after 2 30 min international fone calls as LL cuts u off after u have been waiting for 30 mins on the fone

Finally got thro and was helped by a decent CS rep however LL CS sucks big time and i thort we wrere meant to be having these changes for the better, couple that with no stipend for me and lots of others today and it seems that LL cant cope atm, well thats the impression they are shouting out to the client base, please get a grip LL as SL is going downhill and gathering pace as it does and thats a crying shame.......

I'm starting to have serious doubts about giving my personal info to LL at this point. It would almost be safer to just hand it to the 3rd party directly, because they at least GUARD what they sell!

I've had problems getting into help using Opera since the weekend, but switched to IE7 and it worked fine in that.

All this is pointing to the fact that without a decent workable customer service department, no company can succeed. If there was any competition at all, SL would be a ghost town.

More than four hours since the first post and still no word. This is frustrating, because what if it was a partial hack? What if it wasn't? Why were only some accounts affected?

Just a quick thank you note here:

My password was borked last night and I couldn't login. I called up LL on the 800 number, was on hold for 5-10 minutes and was fixed in about 1 minute.

I was prepared for some kind of horror movie by what has been said about support in these forums.

I am very happy with the service.

Well I went to the website and had to log out and when I tried to log back in I had to do the forgot password thing! I answered a question reset my password to the same password i had before and was logged in! I did not get any Stipend today though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I tried to log in today, I was told my account was disabled, and I have no idea why that would be the case. Could this be related to all these password issues? Has anyone else seen reports of this happening?

I seem to be able to stay logged into these forums, but trying to access the 'my accounts' page gives me that 'call us' link that people have mentioned.
