I just had the same problem! I nearly died as I tried my password over and over again, even here on the forums. I was certain my account had been hacked. Thankfully, resetting the password worked. My heart is still racing.

Alright, so I try to log into SL Today, As Brendan Meili, and my password won't go through, I ended up having to reset it.. Is there an alert for accounts being hacked? Same thing is happening to me right now. Elinah |

The only web page I see it to change it if you know it. And SL says it doesn't recognized the password I know. I don't see any kind of "lost password" or "reset password" anywhere!

I solved the problem by going to secondlife.com, logged out
and used the Forgot Password feature. Got the reply email with the link to reset the password. Now I can log in. But there's something weird about this. Good to hear that "they're" on it. (Thanks Heretic for posting.) -Infrared |

My main account Elwood Abernathy is locked out of second life because I cannot reset my password, I tried on the reset password page and am told I answered the questions wrong. My main account is premium and my tier is two mainland sims, and now I can't get support until tomorrow because your support lines are not active at night.

My account password wasn't working, and I just checked on SL official forums (you know, the ones you need SIGN IN to read!) and it turns out there is a Company problem with logging in that resetting your password seems to fix. Resetting the password worked for me - I saw a post by Heretic Linden saying they were working on the problem, so it may just go away by itself. A very relieved Desmond who had been shut out for 15 minutes... _____________________

Questions are security Q, complete the names of 3 friends (surnames listed), last amount billed, OR home location. Just one is needed. _____________________

Related but different, anybody else notice the transaction history on the right-side of the password change webpage?
It was totally wrong for me - lots of casino stuff that I never did. My account balance looks about right, though, as does the regular transaction history page. Are you sure about that? I just went through it and she's correct. |
