Maybe he wants you to speak 'American,' not English?

Maybe he wants you to speak 'American,' not English? Or maybe a quick translation to Trollish would be more effective? @Phoenixa - FWIW, I went and put in a vote on the JIRA issue. . _____________________

I am most grateful to all who have come because of this thread, and voted on this issue. Thank you all most humbly!!
For the record, I'm painfully aware of other bugs, "fail to rez", "object not in database" etc... from my own experience. To me at this time and for all the time I've been here, secondlife is all about dance. (Dance as an art form, not just a fun activity). My portfolio of work on youtube shows this. I feel fortunate I've met others who are as passionate about dance as I am and I know I've not met them all. If my posting has helped even one person I dont know yet with a heads up about this problem to save their own dance appliances (HUD, AO, chim or sphere) then it has been worth it to me. /me whispers in Racal's ear, "psst.. pretty please with sugar on top, come click a vote in?" thank you! _____________________

and you can translate what he was going on about .. ? SHE was responding to an inaccurate comment about something SHE scripted which was made in the text file attached to the JIRA issue. _____________________

I just saw some great news in the JIRA comments from Webby, apparently Webby got a hold of the correct Linden who was able to recover the HUD.
Workarounds are just temporary, this needs a fix! _____________________

The AO I make works just fine. ![]() that's nice to hear, and I certainly hope when you remove it (whether intentionally or by accident, as some of the folks commenting in the JIRA 6110 comments have had happen) that the grid.. notorious for it's burps, hiccups, grinding halts and other such unacceptable behavior doesn't EAT your HUD (or other attachment) on it's merry way from your screen (or avi) to your inventory. For the record, all my HUDs work just fine too, and I wouldn't doubt that the others who had lost their HUDs and attachments that theirs worked just fine too.. but, when the grid is hungry, it's a bit moot how well the attachment worked before disappearing. _____________________

The preponderance of Huddles losers in this Jira should not lead to the conclusion that the bug affects Huddles exclusively or even animation containers specifically. Moreover, the hud does not need to be in the process of detachment or being replaced to disappear. I lost a CamCaster when its action was completed for the very first time and it went into stand-by mode.
I have rounded up 18 more votes for VWR-6110. |

All HUDS work even when removed. All AO's work when removed. I've tracked down those who bought 'em and so far no problem. Removed mine dozens of times between socializing & building. No problems. I'm thinking it has to do with the scripts. I use older, simple scripts. Seems when folks try to get fancy, the Grid rears its ugly head & bites 'em in the ass. Although I'll admit this sounds like an issue that needs looked at. The grid likes to eat things at random and it picks at random. All else fails- I make another. Only 2-4 hours tops (ok, now I'm bragging). ![]() _____________________

Wow Trune, that's really good information to be posted to that JIRA 6110, and so sorry to hear that happened.
Thank you for the extra folks to vote there, and there is more good news in there.. another HUD has been recovered. Apparently even tho the issue isn't assigned, it is being watched by Lindens with wrenches now, and they may be contacting the folks who are posting about losses and have filed support tickets or contacting via Live Chat. _____________________

FWIW, I took off my HUDDLES™ twice tonight and a few times yesterday, not knowing about this issue, and it didn't disappear from inventory at all (knock wood). I don't think it's just an issue of what kind of scripting is in the HUD, just a random HUD replacement issue? |

Animation toys are getting the attention because of the expensive no-copy stuff people have in them, but I've had hair and shoe parts (all copy fortunately) disappear the same way. _____________________

I had a Tummy Talker disappear this way about 3 weeks ago. I ended up buying another one but I'm very careful now to make sure it is never removed on accident again. I've had other items just disappear from inventory but I had never had an item just removed on accident suddenly poof from my inventory. Thank you for all the info here, now I know I'm not crazy. I was beginning to think I was!

I lost a CamCaster when its action was completed for the very first time and it went into stand-by mode. ![]() I've been pretty much away from this forum the past day or so, and hadn't seen this thread. One thing I sense here is that the bug is very likely associated with the taking and releasing of controls: CamCaster takes controls, as do AOs and most any attachment that wants to be able to work in no-script areas. That makes it a bit difficult to do "epidemiology" on this bug, since so many attachments take controls; and that's combined with the fact that there's an annoyingly high level of background noise due to ongoing inventory loss. But the whole controls thing is pretty brain-damaged anyway; I'll be very surprised if that doesn't end up being part of the underlying cause. _____________________
