If you use HUDs, AOs, Dance spheres or Chims, there's a recent and bad issue

This is massively important if you use any kind of HUD, AO, dance sphere or chim... I have a HUGE collection of dances. I use them in HUDs to dance and film. (around 28 full HUDDLES Quick Pose HUDs now, that I usually rotate as needed). I also have several full dance spheres. Because of a new bug, I am terrified to remove any of those I am currently wearing, or swap any of them out. Why? (why does anything mess up in SL, hmm?) Here's the info about this JIRA issue. I feel so strongly about it that I've even put it in my picks in the 1st position on my inworld profile and decided to post about it here. (I've not lost anything... but many people have. In seeing the list growing, I decided not to remove any of the 8 HUDs I'm wearing, nor the one sphere I have attached) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HUDs JIRA issue, please go vote?? http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6110Must log in to vote, and the VOTE link is on the left sidebar. ADD YOUR VOTE is the link to click on to add your name. The more people who vote, the sooner they will address this issue. Recent issue: *HUDS are completely disappearing when detached, *RELEASE KEYS button has been pressed, or in a few cases *when replaced by another HUD or *removed when a folder is dragged to an avatar. Please come vote for this issue as the more people who vote, the sooner it will be fixed. Thank you for the help! Phoenixa Sol Dance Addict Sol Animations

That's pretty scary...I've never gotten around to updating my HUDDLE to the newer ZHAO II version and now I'm afraid to.

Yes, it's very scary, and I am MOST grateful I caught the article on Keiki's blog: http://imakehuddles.com/wordpress/2008/04/19/if-you-lose-inventory-make-sure-you-get-support-from-linden-lab/#more-133because it saved me from losing anything, but my heart goes out to the growing list of folks who have lost items due to this bug. A couple of clicks by some more folks and hopefully we'll be seeing this one resolved immediately.

It's not about rezzing anything, it's about worn HUDs disappearing from inventory on detach.

Doubtfull. Actually, this isn't that bug. This is one where any method of removal from your 8 HUD positions or from your avatar has caused the item to disappear, and this bug has only cropped up with one of the recent updates. There is more information in the link I included above on Keiki's blog. Also, a few of the folks have gotten theirs back, but others have not.

Racal, it's not even assigned. Until whatever magical number of votes that lights the fire under LL's tailfeathers is reached in the JIRA, it probably wont be. If you read in the JIRA and/or Keiki's blog link, you'd see a few folks did get theirs back. http://imakehuddles.com/wordpress/2008/04/19/if-you-lose-inventory-make-sure-you-get-support-from-linden-lab/#more-133Hence, my efforts to spread the word and hopefully help someone else avoid losing theirs. Thank you to all the folks who read this and went right away to vote!

From: Racal Hanner K ? Do we get it back ?
It sounds like there's a utility which *might* get the HUD back, but it doesn't always work. Plus, people with access to Live Chat are getting it taken care of much faster, so Basics are a little screwed.

at which point will LL 'fess up to and replace ( without bother to retailers ) the loss of inventory . ?
or even admit their part in the loss?
I have been playing MUD's sine the late 90's and even in those early years we ( the admins and gods) were able to track inventory.

Peculiar comment: "I did not race finally seeing that the racing boards were expensive". You can't buy the "racing boards" and it costs nothing to race when they are out. Given that I scripted them I should know this.
But anyway. I have not encountered this at all, but if it is occurring to anyone, please, do add comments to the JIRA issue detailing exactly what happened - that will help them track the issue down.

I don't use any HUDDLES products or dance chims but I have put time and lindens into my ZHAO II and recently purchased 2 Deluxe Lestat Texture Organizers that I would hate to lose any of the contents.

I have not encountered this, but I have a tendency to never just wear a HUD but to actually specify the HUD attach-point/location myself -- and now I am very glad that I've always done it that way. Although I have had a couple of times where I thought I was 'wearing' something only to find out that it was actually a HUD - I'll count myself lucky that I lost nothing in those few cases. In any case, I will log into JIRA with all of my accounts and have them all vote on this.

Please try to translate this to English. I'm afraid I have to tell you that that _is_ in English. Perhaps if you would care to mention the parts you are having trouble is, I or someone else could help.

From: Racal Hanner English spelling and maybe grammar .. what the heck you going on about? It's a response to a document attached to the JIRA linked in the first thread. If you don't have anything that can read *.docx files, try http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:jira.secondlife.com/secure/attachment/15837/Concerning%2Blost%2BEZ%2Bhud%2Bticket.docx

From: Racal Hanner English spelling and maybe grammar .. what the heck you going on about? Well, it is really very simple I would say. The first is a quote from the JIRA issue being referred to here in blog posts et cie, as I would assume you realise given that you have responded several times on that basis, though perhaps, I suppose, you did not see fit to read the links contained in the posts that you responded to. The rest is a comment on said quote, based on the fact that I scripted the system in question and also rezzed it and thus know its behaviour and cost, or lack thereof. I am also at a loss as to how there are issues of spelling or grammar involved; perhaps you would be so kind as to detail them for my elucidation. I really am rather ignorant of these matters.

No biggie Vikie .. but many of us have been missing great parts of inventory well over 2 years past.. JIRA reporting will give you nothing other than carpal syndrome.

JIRA reporting will give you nothing other than carpal syndrome. If you read the JIRA and Keiki's blog, you'll see that LL has actually recovered quite a few of the disappearing HUDs.

I bow down to our hosts ( whome most of us pay a fair $£) Great to see they (LL ) have recovered "quite a few" of our disapearing assests. I'm gonna recommend this platform to everyone I know. NOT
