Not everyone but for a very good portion of residents who actually live in these forums [because they spent more time here then in sl] you can honestly say no deviants in this forum, none at all, and that's a promise. Here you find the "Howdy Doody" crew, alive and well. They all profess to love mankind and each other and always remember to say, "I'm sorry that happened to you" whenever anyone posts any misfortune even if they don't know the person from adam. Go down the line and you'll see one after another "I'm sorry this happened to you." It's the forums signature line you must learn to always repeat if you want to "live" here too.

Phony gestures but done nonetheless.

I'm sorry this happened to you. :(

Harris is right. None of us ever go in world. Most of us don't even have SL intsalled on our machines any more.

That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry...

...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning.

I thought I was in SL, but I found out today I have been playing There.com all these years. I wondered how people were getting prim penises and taking their clothes all off.

I'm Mister Green Christmas
I'm Mister Sun
I'm Mister Heat Blister
I'm Mister Hundred and One
They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun
He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch

He's too much!

Thank you!
I never want to see a day
That's under sixty degrees
I'd rather have it eighty,
Ninety, one hundred degrees!
(spoken)
Oh, some like it hot, but I like it
REALLY hot! Hee hee!

He's Mister Green Christmas
He's Mister Sun

Sing it!

He's Mister Heat Blister
He's Mister Hundred and One

They call me Heat Miser,
What ever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!

Too Much!

You know, I'm feeling a sense of community that I haven't felt since the rallying around behind the "kids excluded from SL5B" thing. And to think... all it took to bring us together was a troll pointing out how we were all a bunch of low-down, lying, scheming, furry, pedo, sex-crazed deviants! :D

At least a few people see it. I know RL is not much better, but SL tends to bring out the worst in people because they can get away with all of the lying and deceit.

If a person tells the truth because he's afraid he'll be caught in a lie, he is just as dishonest as one who never tells the truth at all.

In Real Life I have encountered: con artists, philanderers, thieves, rapists, muggers, gang-bangers, drug addicts, drunks, pimps, streetwalkers, disabled pre-op transsexual hookers, short-change artists, sociopaths, bullies, child abusers, pedophiles, dog-f*ckers, insane cult leaders, wannabee insane cult leaders, slumlords, plagiarists, mafiosi, nazis (Godwin!), gossips, and people with poor personal hygiene.

All of these people were able to pass as normal, decent folk - although the wannabee insane cult leader didn't hold up very well on closer examination.

People don't have "I'm a useless scumbag who wants to destroy everything I touch" tattooed on their foreheads in RL. Instead, they copy what they see around them, and put on their "normal" suits. They walk around and don't get caught, for the most part.

Then there are others, who would like to indulge themselves, but don't because they'd get caught. Are they honest and decent people? No. They're just as bad as the ones with more courage. Just sneakier, and with more anxieties.

If you think that SL brings things out, you haven't spent enough time in RL.

Here is my take on this...if a paralysed person who can fly and walk in SL is a liar, a bald person in RL has hair, a short person is tall, a deaf person can hear, a person who cant drive in RL drives a car all over SL, a person who has 6 kids and a mortgage in RL is single and rents in SL, a white middle aged woman is a dragon with pretty white wings in SL, a fat person is thin, a housewife has a biz in SL or any number of untruths happen in SL...i say...

GOOD FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

I would rather hang around these people who are experiencing joy and fun in their virtual lives than someone who is miserable and finds the need to pronounce that all of them are evil when no one asked in the first place. And frankly, if my SL best friend is really a man instead of woman...does it REALLY matter?

All this time, I just thought people were being wildly creative and imaginative in their presentation of self in SL. That they were delving into perspectives not allowed them in RL, exploring new avenues of identity and self-expression.

Turns out they were just liars.

Writers shouldn't produce anything except non-fiction. Movie producers should only make documentaries. Otherwise they are liars and cheats. And don't get me started on actors and actresses!
