I thought it was so you could stow away on ships as the cabin boy, own real estate and vote.

The whole Discommendation arc was great. It showed what a loyal, honorable and dignified character Worf was. i was happy to see him move to DS9.

Speaking of which, there is a great inside joke in one of the episodes during the War with the Founders. One of the Starfleet Admirals is reading a status report and is naming casualties. "Orr, McWatt, Nately......"

These are of course characters from what famous novel?

Oooooooh, Ooooooh oooooooh! Pick me!

That reminds me of all the times I gave computer advise on our Guild boards when I played Everquest... unless I added the comment "that's what my husband told me" no one would take me seriously.....

I once had a stalker so I'm careful what I tell people about myself in both RL and SL. Some people might consider that lieing, but I'm being careful. I haven't met many deviants in SL or RL, but I don't act, dress or go anywhere where I would meet said persons. I have a G rated profile so that doesn't seem to attract deviants. I visited a Gorean market sim awhile back and got an IM from a guy that was into having girls pee on him...it said so in his profile...but I ignored his IM and he went away.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're not putting it out there you won't get it back. As for deviant behavior, my in laws in RL think I'm a deviant devil child because I'm not the same religion as them and I have married sex for pleasure, not just to procreate.

I've found in life that if you worry too much about something, it will come for you eventually. Change your prospective and avoid the negative aspects you see in SL.

I think I must be in a different SL and RL to you.

Thanks for reminding me! SL ate my prim eyelashes last night. I detached them and they never made it to my inventory. I have to get some new ones.

Hmm not enough of it obviously, lets see you bump into people after we use another roll round your knees as well as ankles and we'll just ad some creative deviate rope work that will reduce your wriggling a lot :)

Right beside the big birthday cake in the Second Life Birthday sim, you know, just beside and South of the main stage...

..there's a Victorian villa

..and on the wall, there's a painting

..voluptuous nude

..nipples
..pubes

That's right in the centre of the whole event. It's probably a build that people coming to the centre would be drawn to by the very attractive signboard.

It's not offensive or porn, but it would offend anyone who wanted to be offended.

I was surprised to find a DS exhibit at SL5B Sculpty, together with cages and bondage crosses.
I was amused by the nude right beside the main stage. :)

Are you joking or serious? I haven't been over to SL5B yet, but a number of people who were entering builds were made to redo textures to blot out nipples and pubes, and there was the specific prohibition against anything indicating chaining or bondage...

The items that I mentioned were not in-your-face promotions of nudity or DS.
They were both in a context.

The nude painting was of the era, although it might not have been displayed in a house in which it was thought improper to leave the legs of a grand piano uncovered.

The DS was part of someone describing their progress in SL, with DS being one of three topics. The build is three large spherical cages with a working classic bondage cross in one of them. The DS culture is explained briefly in academic terms. The build is not designed to titillate or be erotic.
Both items should not have run foul of any "filth!" rules, but would have run foul of a black/white bureaucratic rule.

Ya, it surprised me to see some similar stuff in the SL birthday sims, given all the issues with the event. I tink someone did't get the memo, or someting. ;-)

Well, in at least one case I know of where the pictures had to be altered as I mentioned, it WAS of classical pictures. So there does seem to be several different standards at work.

And Lindens and the organizers wonder why people feel cynical and annoyed... :/
