It's called a penis, darling. 'Pen0r' is a word used by silly people who think penises are icky things that shouldn't be talked about. They also use words like 'minnie' and 'woohoo' for the female equivalent*, even though they're old enough to know the grown-up words. *I guess I can say 'pussy' here, which is quaint in itself, but not the stronger 'c' word that would probably get me banned for foul language, even though it's a much older (13thC) word for it, along with the more acceptable 17thC 'cunny'. My apologies for derailing this thread into a discussion of the etymology of genital slang. We will now return you to your regularly-scheduled deviance. ![]() A Penis? That sounds like something a Doctor would have. _____________________

Gene Roddenberry did not allow women who weren't hot to exist in his fantasy universe. And the original series was annoyingly sexist. Yeah but when you are a kid you don't think of those things. It was the way all TV was back then. Next Gen was annoyingly PC for me actually, I guess Roddenberry was trying to make up for it. _____________________

I had to put up with enough sexism, racism, sexual orientationism etc. when I was young to make nothing ever seem too pc to me. _____________________

Actually I was disappointed in the first episode or two of NG because some of women crew members were still were still wearing ludicrous short dresses. But I must have not been the only one because then for an episode or two some of the men were wearing them. That was actually pretty cool. After that it was pretty pc. I had to put up with enough sexism, racism, sexual orientationism etc. when I was young to make nothing ever seem too pc to me. /me nods and understands. ![]() AND you live in San Diego. ![]() _____________________

but i'm talking about people who lie period. to their sl friends, to their sl partners, etc. there's a lot of liars, and yes there is a lot of trash and filth in sl, but the liars are the worst part. your sl GF is probably has a pen0r. though some people are so desperate they just don't care (probably some in this thread). i've just heard of a lot of relationships in sl where people were lied to, and they got hurt cuz they would trust these people. something similar happened to me though i wasn't hurt, it just made me realize the community is full of liars cuz they can get away with it. Simple solution: take SL at face value, and nothing more. Don't assume anything you see or do in SL reflects anything in reality, and you will get along just fine. The problems come along when people start melding SL and RL together, pierce the veil between the two, and begin to expect consistency between the two -- you're setting yourself up for pain, in my opinion, if you do that. If you keep them separate, why do you care about the gender or anything else of the person behind the avatar you are interacting with? Of course, I know not everyone in SL approaches SL this way, but if you seriously think that a virtual world like SL where people can choose to appear how they want and do what they want will reflect in many cases who the person is in real life, you're incredibly naive. |

I had to put up with enough sexism, racism, sexual orientationism etc. when I was young to make nothing ever seem too pc to me. The Skants were phased out, along with the unitards, in favour of more "Actor Friendly" jacket and trouser combinations. Though the actual trousers were (as I recall grudgingly) actually similar to overalls soas to provide as "smooth a line" as possible. without a gather at the waist. If not tailored well, they were quite literally a pain in the ass. Made sitting a bit of a chore as well, as torso length changes when sitting. The side effect of this, was that the jackets would "ride up" on the fabric of the overall pants.. and could ride quite high after a sit-stand scene with a few retakes. Patrick Stewart had a LOT of scenes where he was sitting, listening to some communication on the bridge, and then having to "stand up dramatically" to address some person on the viewscreen, or someone who walked on to the bridge. These scenes routinely had MANY takes.. Patrick developed a bit of a "personal affectation" after doing these scenes again and again and again over the years, having to deal with the uniform jacket riding up. This is what trek costumers referred to as "The Picard Maneuver".. the brisk, authoritative downpull of the jacket after standing up. Later uniforms, from what I understand, eliminated the "built in suspenders" for the pants.. but the "Picard Maeuver" remains a staple of the Picard character. Don't get me started on the "Maroon Monster" uniforms of ST 2-7 _____________________

In SL one does learn when and where to use them most eloquently and it amazes me really how the usage changes depending on the area of the country or even the world. Until recently, the word c*** for penis had never even entered my vocabulary - just a question of geographical locale- it would be unusual down south - but now it doesn't seem contrived like it used to. See? Even Deviants can have intellectual pursuits ![]() _____________________
