I didn't miss it. That's the part that really irks me. I have absolutely no desire to be deputized against my will into protecting the eyeballs or moral fiberof other people's children.

Agreed. Children who shouldn't be here in the first place.

Children who LINDEN LAB enabled to get on the grid in the first place, so they could pump up their fake numbers, and now WE are supposed to be watching out for these kids.

Pisses me off to no end.

Another ditto...
There's about as much skin showing at my lil store as Chip has at his, and both aren't sexual in nature. I wont be flagging as adult content, and I'll be leaving the mature flag on... simple as that. LL DID use the word "excessively ..." and to me that means anything you can look at and say there's definately SEX involved. Mere nudity or parts thereof aren't sexual. One may find it sexy :P, but in and of itself it is not sex, and certainly not "excessive".

Good points. It's like me needing to watch my 4 kids and what they do on the internet and now needing to watch some other person's kids that don't belong here and what they do on here.

That's the way I'm leaning myself, but I won't make any decisions until we get more clarification. I'd like to know what happens when someone gets AR'd for adult content that isn't flagged.

Vigilantism is first thing I thought of when I heard about this.

These self appointed SL police organisations, the PN, and just individuals with axes to grind - pissed at an ex-lover and so on, are going to abuse this, make no mistake.

Were not sure the Mature Content and Adult flags are different yet

Unless they made some clarification today?

They are different. There's another post on the blog today. It doesn't answer the question about nudity though. It just reiterates that it includes things that are explicitly sexual and excessively violent. I take that to mean that nudity alone doesn't qualify. There's also no info yet on how complaints will be handled.

okay its good that they are different - It would have been a boringly BLAND world for people who wouldnt verify under the new system .

Still I see more Night Clubs and less Sex Clubs, etc ... That part might not be bad.

I somehow doubt LL will define Adult though. They want "Plausible Deniability"

Not entirely sure of this I read the blog and it didnt spell it out - and I just asked Robin straight out and she didnt aknowledge the current flag.

All the Statements were getting on this refers to there will be TWO levels of content on Mature parcels. "Adult" and Mature but not "Adult".

The Problem is becuase of the recent search changes there will be THREE levels of content on mature Parcels.

If theres three levels of content we need 2 flags.

I suppose its possible daniel and Robin arent aware of the recent chances to the Places Search and the use of that flag.

Since they continually dont mention It, even when direcctly asked. Or I didnt ask clearly enough, I guess.

From: Robin Linden
Currently every region has a rating: PG or M. On the mainland the rating is pre-determined; on estates the estate owner can set it to PG or M.

The parcel flag we're talking about will be available on M regions (island or mainland) only. It will mean that there is adult content on that parcel/region that is clearly inappropriate for non-adults. This content is that which is overtly, graphically, or explicitly sexual in nature or intensely violent. Obviously, there should be no content on PG regions that fits this description. But even on M regions this content is extreme, and therefore needs to be flagged.

If you are not verified you will not be able to enter parcels or islands that are flagged as having adult content.

For more information on our thinking about costs, please see this post.
