What it IS is that I realize this is a form of entertainment and not somewhere I HAVE to be when I'm not at work. Maybe that's where I differ from you and many others. I don't know...

Once again, don't trivialize the ACTUAL oppression of people in totalitarian countries by comparing it to age verification in a computer game.

I have plenty of first hand experience in a 3rd world country and with many of it's citizens and while I haven't personally felt such oppression I can be pretty sure that it doesn't equate to not being able to go look at chipmunks do it with an old man pretending to be a high school girl without giving your personal info.

You are right- the original purpose of this thread is to complain about and hopefully shut up people who voice their concerns on the forums.

I thought it was about people voicing their concerns in a whiny voice...and with duplicate threads.

Okay, say you aren't... I'd say that linden lab sucked all the wind out of those sails by hosting a town meeting and posting a dedicated blog entry to talk about the issues raised by project open letter.

Only rezmods and lindens can deny people their voice.

The rest of us can merely ridicule and discredit.

There's so many people yelling about so many things that most legitimate constructive feedback is totally lost in the noise anyway, which will discourage people from trying.

No, we are not chicken littles. I think the people who are really frightened are those who jump into every thread they supposedly disdain, and condescend. Are you (plural) are afraid that someone may effect some sort of change through lobby? Why this frightens you is a mystery to me.
