When are YOU going to stop complaining?

Not everyone complains inconsistantly.

In fact most posters here are cosnsistant in their veiws.

Its a mistake to see complaining and assume people complain just to complain. While there are a coupel of posters who do thise (basically Trolls) most posters have their opinions about things and they seem fairly constant.

Some posters are constant enough you can predict what sid eof an issue they will choose

For example a thread about unregulated Bots - people know im going to be against. Some topics i might be on the fence - like age verification, I see possitve and negative aspects of it.

Whats more interesting to me - is what is the source of the "I wish people would shut up" sentiment. Why are people against discussing issues?

Many will point out that the forum isnt for discussions - which is really kind of funny becuase thats all Forums are for.

hehe anti whine threads dont help either. what happens though when we get a bizzillion threads on a discusion and "panic" over what might or might not happen when 2 or 3 will do quite nicely is that the actual "resident questions" are getting lost and they go unanswered for hours and some are not being answered. All these threads being started which I think most people have to admit to themselves aren't needed the "debate" over it can be done properly in a couple of threads are kinda well it looks like someone barfed on the forum.

I guess I dont get it why does everyone have to start a thread on an identical issue what's wrong with the ones that are still open?

so many threads are being started that new players who are asking questions their questinons are being scrolled off the first page of the forum before someone sees them. I Picked up two last night that had dropped to page 2 in a matter of an hour or two when normaly they would have remained on the first page till someone saw it and answered it.

debate is fine hysteria isn't. I dont consider this debate I consider this hysteria at this point because of the sheer volume of threads out there on the same issue. I just hope a resmod shows up and gets rid of some of them soon because it kinda is outa hand.

Of course adding a thread whining about people to stop whinning never helps either and it always gives me a chuckle

I have to agree here. It is more a matter of the parents then of SL. SL sets the rules and if they find out someone breaks those rules, they should act (ban or whatever). But that a child is using the credit card of its parents without content, is pure a matter of the parents. Same can be said about the fact that child succeed in gaining access to the main grid without the parents noticing it (but we had that discusion already).

I fail to see the difference, and in fact, supporting threads that you supposedly detest by participating in them, bumping them nonstop, from beginning to end, is a form of hypocrisy...

Contact LL about becoming a resmod, AR the threads (that you supposedly don't like, yet I suspect that you do actually like them, because of your avid participation in them), but you don't get to tell people to stop what they're doing. Sorry, not until your last name is Linden or until we see your name in the resmod list.

And even then, they'll head to a third-party site to snort derisively about the strutting bully.

you see i said to someone a couple months ago when the forums got shut down which upset me actually and I didn't understand why, but then I go to some of those third party forums and see how they talk

pretty much like your doing right now even though you agree with what i just said you argue

so yeah i think i see now why so many of the forums got shut down. If you want this one to be shut down as well you can continue on your path. I myself would like to see it stay open but that's just me

if we make so much work for the mods on this forum we're gonna loose it again is there some reason you can't have 2 or 3 threads on the forum and be happy with it? i'm asking because i truly want to know why are things getting burried because last night the entire first page of this forum was covered in thread on one topic and the poor schmo's that actually thought it was about resident answers were getting lost in the shuffle

I dont actualy care about the debate one way or another I care about keeping this forum and in light of what is going on its possible over time that we can loose it if residents care so little as to abuse it. We are being given some leway to post off topic stuff which I Like I would hope that people see that this is occuring that we are being allowed to do this and not abuse the courtesy (not right) being extended to us. If you want to abuse it fine however again the question remains is there some reason why we needed to cover the entire first page in threads on an identical topic so that actual resident questions were being lost in the shuffle

is there some kind of honour or gold star that one gets as a result of starting a thread? because in my entire 1 year of being on this forum i have started a grand total of 3 threads and found the ones open on the topics perfectly adequate to respond to

so prey tell what is this urge to barf all over a forum and abuse a courtesy being extended to us because what is gonna happen if we loose that courtesy what are you gonna do then?

If I recall correctly, you left SC because you flat-out accused a long-time resident of stealing your designs, never mind that they looked nothing alike, and had a hissy fit when people said "uh, no."

i left sc because of the continouse flaming and crap that was going on you see i wentto the content vigilante guild over a possible theft of an item. the directions at the time were clear to follow their url and to post a certain type of information which i did to the letter as requested. I didn't even look at the fact that it was a subforum of a flamefest forum. I posted the info requested by joshua all of it in a subforum i was directed to via the link in the content vigilante guilds group information. I read the instructions on the top of the forum and did what it said. the result was an agry mob of incredibly rude people who flamed me for two days after I got the answer I was looking for so i requested to be removed because I didn't see the use in belonging to a forum full of insane people who pounced on a guy who was basically there following instructions. After that incident however joshua had to change his instructions and the url to that site no longer points there as a result of that incident. You guys should be proud of your actions I went looking for advice which i never really got because of the 30 pages of flames and crap that went on.

that is why i post here because people basically are sane or try to be and behave themselves, but i see these old habits appearing here and I know from what i saw on that forum the reason now why Linden labs shut these ones down and I would like to avoid that if possible

anyhow at this point since this has no business being on this forum i'm reporting it because now you want to do exactly what you want to do on those forums which i purposely DONT belong to because of the nature of what goes on

but wait you guys spent two days making fun of the thread which was pretty ridiculous i left and came back 48 hours later at one point and the thread was massive. people were calling me names and making fun of me and being generally idiots about the entire thing

I didn't go there for that I went for information on two very similar looking items and on the current copybot situation which was answered in the first 10 posts. After that is was nothing but wall to wall flames and crap its was ridiculous and insane and made no sense
