I actualy dont see anyone saying you should not talk about any of this I do see a lot of people saying and making fun sometimes of why so many threads on the issues I think its reasonable to ask people to not go overboard and drown everything else out in an effort to be heard and step on everyone else in order to do it

Maybe we should start a thread to see just how many threads are needed on the issue and maybe we should all do what 2ksusie did because he felt left out so he just posted a thread on the subject just to join in (a joke of course but he was making the same point in a humourous way)

The bottom line is that this is not even what this forum is for but its being allowed which is very nice but it will only be allowed to a point at which point someone is gonna pull in the reigns and say enough and then no one will be able to say anything

is it not better to have less threads that actually stay open then a bazzillion threads that will get closed very quickly followed by every subsequent thread being closed on the subject?

I dunno the thread about the bots is like over 1k posts long its doing well and has not been locked and everyone has their say in it no problem

so again what is the deal with starting an entire forum full of threads on one issue knowing that they are gonna get locked much faster then if you only have a couple of threads on an issue

As i read recently on a forum for a MMORPG i usually play, someone was ranting similar to this. People who want want want and are never happy. They will never find a game that satisfies them if they continue on complaining about them like that. The complainers about age play, kids, and anything that looks like kids, are the reason SL is turning to crap right now. I preferred SL how it used to be before all this started about kids and age play. Back when i started, we didn't care! just give us our prims and we are happy. Some people are so insecure about this kid thing, It's unbearable... let people role play what ever they want... As long as they don't ask them to get involved, they got nothing to complain about IMO.

I think theres so many threads becuase it was such a lightning bolt type issue - People were so angered their SL was going to be compromised they started threads without looking around for similiar threads.

Strife will see this - hes been around.

LL manufactured this issue by posting this on a friday in the 11th hour then limiting the blog to 100 comments.

They should make these Huge announcements on Mondays - it would reduce this panic stuff considerably.

You're jumping to conclusions about my position on the verification issue. My issue with you, and the other trolls who jump all over everybody when they get riled about something, is that you have control issues.

It's a bit ironic that you're blaming the people who raise issues and questions for some "community divide", when the divide is created when people like you, who simply cannot abide by people working something out of their systems though venting, have to jump in and start name calling, accusing, pigeon holing, and criticising. THAT is what causes the rift.

By the way Wilhelm, a resmod said a while back that LL allows a certain measure of venting to go on here in Resident Answers, in the hopes that it will serve as a relief valve of sorts. But, by all means, keep railing, at times incoherently, at people who are in no way forcing you to read or reply with ranty huge post after huge post. Do you not see the irony, Wilhelm, in greatly contributing to threads, and indeed causing them to spiral into arguments, when you are screaming they shouldn't exist in the first place?

You can do it Wilhelm! You can let your mouse pass right over these threads you "don't like" so much. By the way, I think you DO like them, I think they serve as a way for you to ego build by utilising them as a bully pulpit to try and tell people what to do.

As for the rest of your post, so much of it can be applied to you yourself that it makes my head spin, and I'll not waste time on it.

As for my opinion on the new verification method... As long as it doesn't effect me and my every day life in SL then i don't care. If i get locked out of my own sim or sims i EM, then i will care.

I don't give a flying rip about the age verification issue. And I'm mad as hell about it.

Maybe it's invasive, maybe it's necessary, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.... big whoop.

I can't bring myself to get all charged up and tell people they're wrong or being
irrational, on either side of the pro/con argument, and I'm feeling freaking left out.

Squeeze it may be bullshit to you - but privacy and demands for proof of age etc. are very important to many of us in the world that dont take such things for granted. I have lived in many parts of the world where govts demand knowledge of all that one does. SL has just become another such authoritative body. Dont worry you will soon have plenty of space to build when many of us leave.

Just stopped in to say hi. Not sure what the hell this thread is about. Started with a question and then topics from a bunch of other threads came flying in. Including some people trying to hijack the thread and turn it into another friggin I DONT WANNA GET VERIFIED tirade. I don't see how it's contradictory. I'm not concerned with the age verification process because I will choose not to verify. I choose not to verify because I don't partake in the activities that will most likely be flagged as "adult content".

I went into this thread to see what the "complaining" the OP was talking about might have been. My first reply had nothing to do with age verification but someone else brought it up.
