When are YOU going to stop complaining?

You complained about Porn in SL.
You complained about age play.
LL took steps to reduce the visibility and probability that age play will occur.
You complained about THAT.

You all complained about kids on the grid.
Now you complain when they are trying to do something about it.

When will you stop complaining?
Many of you are making a good penny in SL and do nothing but complain in public on these forums (and probably others too)

Why are you constantly biting the hand that feeds you?
What would you do if LL just shut everything down for a week and you didn't get that fat PayPal cashout that you are so used to getting that pays your bills or makes your life easier in some way??? THEN you'd have something to complain about.


If SL is not working for you, go find another game/platform to use...and if you are making money from SL and you feel it is neccessary to post every 10 minutes about the same damn thing, go get a real job and stop yelling at LL!

I think that those who are starting these threads have a lot of nerve. It's like going into Mc Donald's and yelling at every customer who walks through the door, telling them how fattening the food is there and they need to make the food healthier.

Good point Crystal. What strikes me most, is that all the whiners all of a sudden don't know what to say.

I just wish that instead of all the "this idea sux!" posts, people would post what they think the right way to do things is. Just saying that you don't like the idea that LL has put out doesn't really help anyone. It is easy to not like an idea, and I am glad people speak up. But if you don't like the current idea, try coming up with one to replace it. Who knows, maybe someone will come up with a better idea that will be used.

I'm not comfortable giving out more information then I already have to play a Video Game.

I'll stop complaining when:

a) inventory loss is either mitigated against in the system (by using transaction management, by having a tool to find orphaned objects owned by you, or by having a backup system) and/or properly compensated for
b) teleports work
c) the change that prevents resetting scripts in no-mod objects is reversed
d) a seel object to avatar feature is implemented
e) LL actually respond to support e-mails and phonecalls within days tather than years!
f) LL provide a feed back mechanism for new features before dropping them on us - and don't regard a week implemented on the beta grid as suitable notice or testing

SS# is bad, because when people on recieving SS are recieving income from SL too they can get away with it, but maybe the government is onto this and has asked LL for SS verification?

I don't complain much at all and have lots of good things to say about SL. Too bad when I do have a gripe so many people seem happy to set their attitude to smug condescension. The complaints aren't the problem its the attitudes so many people feel free to weild in an online forum environment.

Plenty of people complain about things I either haven't experienced or which simply don't concern me. I don't think their complaint to be any less valid because it doesn't bother me. The important thing is it bothers them.

I've said before, I'd rather people complain than just leave SL altogether. By complaining they show there is enough there they like for them to want something they see as wrong fixed to improve their experience. If they all hated SL as much as others would like to beleive, why would they hang around? Surely they would just drop it, is moaning about something you already hate worth the energy? I'd be surprised to find many that thought so.

Everyone complaining and everyone praising are in far more similar camps than either is willing to accept. Both have a genuine interest and like for SL, at the root, both would like it to be a good as it can be, some concentrate on the good side while others seek to improve the bad but neither have given up on SL altogether. Maybe people should pause before labelling someone else an "LL apologist" or telling them that if they "don't like it? leave it". The vey fact any of us is posting on the forum shows we may have a greater level of interest than the majority on the grid, so lets just show a little more respect to one another.

No I didn't. Those are trivial matters and I care very little about them.

Fortunately everyone does have rights. Although LL has the right to ask us to surrender our SSN and we have the right to wisely not give it to them.

SOE also doesnt restrict the game to over 18 only and have the type of content we do so using that as an example is ridiculous

First, I would never complain about porn and ageplay in SL on the adult grid. People who take offense can buy their own land and set the rules there according to their preferences. That's what SL is all about: buy land and do there whatever you like, anyone who dislikes it can turn around and leave again.

I did complain about LL willfully letting kids onto the adult grid. I also complain about the new policy, because LL still won't do jack squat to keep the kids off the grid, and even hold the land owners legally responsible for protecting the kids that they let in. Furthermore, I complain that adults who value their privacy will no longer be able to enter my shop and roleplay areas by securely verifying their age using paypal.

Besides, I already practice what LL is planning to introduce, since the registration process was changed by them. I restricted my land to verified account holders, except for a small disclaimer-heavy area. I've learned to accept the status quo and stopped complaining about it; but now LL try to protect their own asses by infringing on our businesses and personal freedoms.

You are not completely light.... yes, you can play EQII as minor, but only by full consent of a parent or guardian....

I do wonder how often parents/guardians really did so.

Anyway, this seemed to be enough for EQII(Sony). Why is it not for SL.... with they difference that don't allow minors at all. Things is... for Sony a credit card is enough proof you are an adult (and lets face, Sony with all it Station games is a LOT bigger as LL).

You're right. A credit card is also enough proof for the whole internet porn industry. Things were already legally fine before LL became greedy and wanted insane user numbers that the grid couldn't take. Now it's up to them to get the kids off the grid again, instead of telling adults to protect them by restricting access to their land.

And before anyone makes the argument that kids can easily get credit cards: none of my business. I only care about the legal side. A kid with a credit card can sign up for every porn website, and it's no one's fault but their parents.
